"You don't understand. Me gonads, you ovaries!" Let out a very frustrated George as his roommates got out of the car.

"Oh, that reminds me, we're out of tampons." Izzie said.

"Izzie, you're parading through the bathroom in your underwear when I'm naked in the shower."

"Can you add it to your list, please? Tampons." The taller blond replied.

"It's to the list, it's your turn." Meredith explained as they walk towards the hospital entrance, still dark outside.

"I am a man!" He exclaimed.

"Oh, come one Georgie. Maybe you feel a bit weird with Izzie walking in on your shower, but what's the problem with buying tampons? My dad was the strongest man I ever knew and he used to buy them when we needed it." Lena added.

"I don't but girl products. I don't want you waking in while I'm showering, and I don't want to see you in your underwear."

"It doesn't bother me, okay? Look at me in my underwear, George, take your time. It's no big deal."

"Or you could just pretend it's a bikini!" The short girl suggested patting his back.

——

"You are the first person they see in the morning. You say please, you say thank you, you apologise for waking them up. You make them feel good about you." Doctor Bailey told them in their locker room, as Helena changed to her scrubs. "Why is that important? Because then they'll tell you what's wrong. Why is that important? Because then you can tell your attending what they need to know during rounds." She closed her locker and pulled her hair back into a low ponytail. "And why is that important? Because if you make your resident look bad, she'll torture you until you beg for your mama. Now get out there, I want pre rounds done by five thirty am."

"I better get good patients today. Yesterday I had two guys with colostomies who needed dressing changes every fifteen minutes." Meredith said after Bailey had left.

"Well, I had a guy who kept staring at my ass and insisted on calling me nurse." Helena complained.

"I'm gonna be in surgery. Today is my day." Cristina said, looking into the distance.

"On what?" Meredith asked.

"What do you know?" The short girl perked up.

"Like I'd tell either of you. I was here at four and you didn't get here until four thirty."

"Why won't you tell me?" The blond insisted.

"I'm not the intern who's screwing an attending."

"Hey, what about me?" Lena mustered up the cutest puppy dog eyes she could.

"As adorable as those are are, I'm still not gonna tell you. You are a Baby Einstein who everyone likes. You're gonna get surgeries either way." The girl frowned slightly at the words but quickly got her smile back.

——

Later that day, Meredith, George and Helena walked down the hospital hallway.

"There need to be some rules." The boy complained.

"So, what, we can walk around in our underwear in alternate Tuesdays? Or you can see bras but no panties? Or are we talking Amish rules?" Meredith asked sarcastically.

"Cause if you think you'll get Izzie to cover herself up..." Helena added.

"The amount of flesh exposed is not the point. You have to do something, it's your house."

"It's my mother's house. Do you like Izzie, is that what this is about? Do you have a crush on Izzie?" The blond questioned.

"Izzie?! No, Izzie, I don't like Izzie. No, I, she's, she's not the one I'm attracted to." The boy blurted out.

"Not the one, so there's a one?" Meredith asked, Helena waking in front of them, without hearing the conversation, as the boy looked towards her with a blush.

"O'Malley, Grey, get Karev and head down to trauma. Campos, seems like Shepherd likes working with you, he requested you for the day." The resident ordered as they approached, assigning them tasks. The girl smiled brightly and thanked her attending.

——

As they approached their attending for the day, they come across a shocking sight. Their patient was somehow conscious, even with several nails in his skull.

"I can't see my hands! I can't see..." The patient informed, panic in his voice.

"You know what? I don't want him to move." The attending ordered.

"It's okay, we need you to stay very still, mr...?" Meredith asked.

"Cruz,  Jorge Cruz. He tripped and fell down a flight of stairs holding a nail gun." A nurse told her.

"Ok, Mr. Cruz, we've got you now, we just can't have you moving, alright?" Helena asked him.

"Somehow he managed to miss a blood vessel. That's a minor miracle. Optic nerve's been affected. Numbness on his right side." Derek examined. "What's our immediate concern?"

"Infection." Grey and Campos said in unison.

"I'm gonna be pulling these nails out in half an hour. We need a CT."

"CTs are down. They exchanged them last night. Computer's crashed, they'll have them back up by one." The same nurse told him.

"Typical." He whispered to himself. "So what are the options?"

"MRI." George suggested.

"Brilliant. The man's got nails in his head, let's put him in a giant magnet." Alex said sarcastically.

"We should do films from three axis points and a c-arm once in surgery." Lena said.
