The warning
As Leo exited the office, his gaze naturally drifted towards Esme's desk, his curiosity piqued by the woman who had captured his friend's heart. With a friendly smile, he approached her, his demeanor easy-going and relaxed.
"Hello. We meet again," he greeted, his tone casual yet warm.
Esme felt a flutter of nervousness under his scrutiny, but she returned his smile nonetheless. "I was drunk that night," she confessed, feeling the need to explain. "I don't remember encountering you." The memory of the chaotic night at the bar was a blur, overshadowed by the events that followed.
Leo waved off her concern with a dismissive gesture. "No problem. I'll remind you," he teased, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "We danced together. You're a good dancer, I must say."
A hint of awkwardness crept into Esme's smile as she accepted his compliment. "Thank you," she murmured, feeling a slight unease.
