CHAPTER 207

Tristan and Boyd continued training until the middle of the night trying to get Boyd familiar with the most basic attributes that came with being a vampire.

And after five hours of going nonstop at it, Tristan had to admit that teaching someone, especially a newborn, was not something he was built with the patience for.

"What are we going to do about the sun? I don't know about you, but I don't want to burn up in my first week of being a vampire."

"There's nothing much we can do about it. You'll have to feed, and when I mean feed I mean alot of it, to build sufficient resistance. Us Bloodborns have it easier than other vampires due to this trait of ours, or so I've been told." Tristan replied.

"Oh great." Boyd muttered dryly. He still wasn't down with the concept of a 'hunt' and also attacking people for blood. "Changing the topic, how strong do you think I am? Compared to other betas at least."

Tristan deadpanned at him. "You've barely become a vampire for a little over 24 hours and you're wondering how you stack up to other betas?"

Boyd chuckled sheepishly and scratched his head. "Yeah, kinda. I mean, everyone says a newborn vampire is stronger than most newborn supernaturals on the same level."

"Yeah, on the same level. You're not exactly on the same level as any other werewolf we know." Tristan stressed out but it seems that Boyd was still on a high trip.

"What about Scott?" He asked.

"Scott?" Tristan repeated, wondering if he heard that right, and he might have since Boyd was nodding excitedly.

"Scott would fold you in seconds if both of you were to fight." Tristan stated plainly. "You're still acclimatizing so be patient. Even I took a long time, a few years even, before I could comfortably beat Malia and Brett."

Boyd said nothing, only looking at his fingers and squeezing his hand hard to feel the power inside. He was no longer human, he could almost immediately tell.

"You're right. I'm being too hasty." Boyd admitted.

"I know." Boyd rolled his eyes at that. "Your emotions are still running on the high end but that's not something you can fix in one night. You'll probably feel like shit in the coming days, especially during the day when the sun is up, which is prime time for you to get used to the changes in your body."

There wasn't that much changes in Boyd except for the basic ones, for now at least. No one has any idea how Boyd will grow so all they can do is to wait and see.

No blood manipulation, no compulsion, no blood sense, nor any signs of him being an empath; but then again, Tristan had none of these at the beginning so maybe Boyd will come to learn them later down the line.

...

Tristan ended up not sleeping through the night because he was busy helping Boyd, who was super active for some reason, simmer down. Thankfully, Boyd's hyperactivity ground to a halt when the sky started brightening up around six in the morning. He fell asleep seconds after entering the guest room.

One problem taken care of, Tristan had to steel himself for when Malia woke up because he honestly had no idea how she would react when she woke up.

As long as she didn't wake up in a bloodpath, Tristan was fine with letting her calm down on her own to think things clearly.

"Trist.."

'Speak of the devil.' Tristan thought and steeled himself for whatever might play out.

"Hey sleepyhead. Finally awake?" He said as he bent down to kiss her on the forehead before going lower to kiss her lips which elicited a sensation he quickly and readily got lost in.

'There's no way I'm giving up on this.' He thought as they both lost themselves in the bliss of the deep passionate kiss they were sharing.

They sunk into the kiss for a few minutes and when they finally pulled apart to stare at each other, Tristan was on the bed lying over Malia who had her hands and legs wrapped around his neck and waist.

"Such intensity. Can't complain since I love you just as much." Tristan whispered not her ears, chuckling as he felt her limbs clasping tightly over his body.

"… I… woke up too early~" Malia whispered breathlessly into his ears and that was all it took for Tristan to work to put her back to sleep in the best way he could.

Luckily for Boyd, he was passed out cold when the sensuous tempos started playing in their room.

...

They woke up a few minutes past ten and got about their day with Boyd still asleep. The guest room had its windows and curtains shut to avoid any hint of sunlight. No one wanted to wake up to the smell of burnt barbecue after all.

"Doing better?" Tristan asked softly, gently probing Malia's mental state.

"Yeah, I needed that sleep~" She cooed as she stretched her body, sighing in pleasure at the sound of those satisfying pops.

It however didn't last very long as Tristan started perceiving the chaotic wave of emotions that she slowly started seeping out.

"Right."

She looked at Tristan and frowned in dissatisfaction at his reaction, or lack of it per se.

"What?" He was taken aback and a bit confused. Why was she directing some of her anger towards him?

"Why are you so calm? It makes me feel as if I'm overreacting."

He tried saying something but was quick – and lucky – enough to stop the words from coming out of his mouth.

The problem with Tristan was that he didn't really know too much about the complications of passion and how it affected friends like Malia and Allison. He couldn't see it from their point of view but he also couldn't say that Malia was overreacting when he saw how Allison had reacted to what he had thought was a simple crush.

Instead he changed his former words and made them more mellow. "Other than telling you not to do something stupid, I don't know what else to say Malia. You and Allison would have to talk for that, and no that's not a chance for you to kill her… or try to at the very least." The last part was muttered but going by the dead stare Malia was currently giving him, she heard it loud and clear.

"So you're trying to say you don't feel angry or anything at all that she had a crush on you?" Tristan's behavior over this whole thing felt very strange to her. She couldn't be the only one feeling this wrenching feeling drowning in her stomach.

Tristan got off the bed and went to the bathroom, stopping briefly at the door to say something before entering it.

"There's nothing to feel about it, Malia, for me at least. It's like a cringe joke one of your best friends say and instead of mocking them for it not being funny, it's better to just ignore it."

Malia's eyes were wide open before she shook her head despondently and chuckled to herself. "To ignore someone's emotions like that. You're so much worse than me, Trist."

…..

Malia went downstairs and grabbed a blood bag and a water bottle and went to the guest room where Boyd was still sleeping.

She looked at Boyd and just shook her head. Getting used to him now being a vampire was something she'd get used to in no time. In fact she had thought it would have happened some time ago.

She threw the water bottle towards the sleeping Boyd whose eyes snapped open the moment the bottle came near him and caught it.

"Malia? Uh, oh… I see, thanks." Taking a drink from the bottle cleared up his mind in a flash and brought clarity to his eyes.

"It tastes a bit different." He smacked his lips and savored the taste of blood. It had a tangy and spicy flavor to it.

"I mixed it with animal blood." She said as she turned around and left.

Coming back downstairs, she wanted to go to the kitchen to warm up something for them to eat when her nose picked up a familiar scent at the door.

She opened the door just as the person was about to knock on it.

"Oh, right."

Noshiko was surprised at Malia's nonchalance and the way she just left the door open and went straight to the kitchen.

"Why do I have a feeling that I'm not going to like the reason you came here?" Tristan said tiredly as he came down and saw Noshiko in his living room.

"The Nogitsune—"

"Is trapped in Allison's body for now."

"We need to kill her."

Boyd and Malia came out of the room and kitchen at that moment and heard what Noshiko had said.

"The hell we're killing her. Allison is our friend!" Boyd said angrily, having easily been triggered by Noshiko's words.

Noshiko however was unaware of the change in Boyd's nature and continued unperturbed.

"This is our only chance, especially now when it's weakened and can't do anything. It is a sad thing, truly, but it's our best option if we don't want the Nogitsune awakening and killing more people now that you've stopped it twice at its game." She tried to explain what none of them were taking into account. The collateral damage will undoubtedly be greater if the now angry Nogitsune regains control. "I'm sorry, but your friend needs to die."

"Boyd, calm down would you?"

"RARGHH!" Tristan sighed into his hand as Boyd leapt at Noshiko only to find himself restrained by Tristan's blood.
