As I was leaving, an unplanned meeting occurred in this room. With one quick move, Uncle Mikel positioned himself firmly in front of the door, blocking my expected exit.

"Is something wrong, Mom?" I asked.

"There's nothing wrong," Mom said, those words with gentle grace, and then reached out her hand to me with grace. "Give it to me, and you're free to leave."

"I'm going to show it to Dad first because he needs to..."

"No!" Mom exclaimed. "That is no longer something your dad needs to see."

"Huh? But why?"

"Don't bother me with questions. You already know that's not real. That ruined this evening. Give it to me so you can go out and..."
