Eyisha couldn't wait any longer and asked, "How does Tantra look like?"
"Tantra?" Zhao Wei asked back.
Both sides were rather suddenly in an awkward silence.
Kitsi interrupted, "Maybe it's not called Tantra, I know that humans have many ways of calling it, some call it like um... Chi or something along those lines."
"Is it the movement of energy within the body?" He replied.
"No, it's more of a collection of energy within the body, it's a well spring that comes from around here," Eyisha clumsily tried to point out her solar plexus.
Zhao Wei now noticed the difference, although the Flow and Tantra looked the same, where as the flow was like a steady stream of light that had to have a connection wherever it was going, Tantra was a dense fog moving through the body. It was a bit different as Zhao Wei's flow came from somewhere in his chest area.
"Wait, you said other humans," he said delightedly, maybe he could go back to civilization. "Have you met other humans around here? where'd they go?"
They both gave each other a look before turning to him, "It was before the world changed, though our Drasas tribe and the human kingdom had less than friendly relationships we still kept up formalities so we had a few encounters with them. But we haven't met anyone else besides you since we were displaced here..." They continued to give him their history, Kitsi told most of it while Eyisha came into the conversation once in a while to fill in the details.
Zhao Wei's pupils constricted the more he heard, at first he'd thought that these people were probably class holders like him who chose a certain class which evolved them into such a state, maybe they were playing this role as a coping measure. Now he was sure, they weren't people from his world. No one used the term 'kingdoms' an more unless they were in a very remote area, but if there were constrained political relations between neighboring countries, he was sure that it'd come up in the news especially if the other side was a bunch of human snake hybrids.
When he came to that realization, he tried to share his history with them, they were obviously flabbergasted. "We are probably in neither my world nor yours. Or it just might be both" He said. The person who broke down was actually Kitsi instead of Eyisha. She cried to see her parents who were part of the army before the change and had left.
"How could such a thing happen?" Eyisha asked as Kitsi cried herself to sleep on her body.
Zhao Wei came over to pick her up and laid her on his mattress next to Panda before leaning against the wall next to Eyisha. "I don't know myself, before this I was just a normal boy in my world."
Eyisha could only look down as she thought, so was I.
He tried to distract himself by thinking about Tantra. Maybe if he could learn both he could add to his capabilities, he thought. "Is there a way I could learn Tantra?"
Eyisha felt troubled by the question. Each tribe had a secret technique for their Tantra which gave different abilities and attainments depending on their completion, but that wasn't the main issue. "I'm sorry, even if I wanted to give you our Tantra manuscript there's no way you could learn it as the Tantra requires a map of the race's body, though there are slight differences between each individuals, members of the same race generally have the same pathway for development." She sighed, "even if you trained in our path, there's a high possibility that the energy would enter a different pathway and implode."
Suddenly she looked up, "But Guru might know something" she said, "He'd been all over the world...." She began speaking like a child praising their idol. Zhao leaned back as he listened to her, it was quite nice like this, it was the first time he had been on the listening end for awhile. She not only spoke of her teacher but also her father, mother and brothers as well as her village in the past.
When she'd finish, Kitsi had already woken up as the daylight had burned away. "So... What do you plan on doing now?" Eyisha asked him. He pondered as he wasn't sure, the next moment he pushed himself of the ground, "Well usually when I need to think, I cook, you guys haven't had nay food in a while either right?"
Eyisha was shocked, she hadn't said anything about the village's food crisis as she didn't want to burden him more than she already had. Zhao Wei on the other hand had already seen that even though they held themselves up, they were highly fatigued and their cheek bones were sunken as well as their eye sockets. Even if he didn't see it the first time he met them, it would be impossible to miss it after he'd been talking to her for so long.
Eyisha was remorseful as she tried to apologize, "I'm sorry but we don't have any food to share with you, we barely have enough for ourselves and we still hadn't made a trip back."
"Don't worry, it's my treat" he said as he stepped outside.
She was puzzled by what he meant, probably a phase from his world. Stepping out, they were greeted by several rows tents that had already been set up around the vehicle. It seemed they were afraid that he'd kidnap them both and run away.
He turned to the carriage extension which held the large storage. Kicking it open both Kitsi and Eyisha's minds were sent reeling again for the umpteenth time that day. And why not, there was meat from more than 600 small, medium and large beasts, that wasn't including the ones he encountered and killed on the way. Unfortunately for them, it wasn't the last time they would be shocked that night.
