CHAPTER 31 : SURPRISING ENCOUNTER 3

As we reached the end of the passage, I made a small rectangular hole in the wall, with a casual use of earth magic, just enough for me and Asher to look before curiously peeping at what was happening on the other side, in the boss room.

The Yeti, one of the most powerful S-class mana beasts I had ever encountered, stood tall, with a towering height of over 15m. Its enormous ape-like body was plunged with numerous sharp elemental constructs along with its snowy white hair, which were scorched black and red from multiple places, most likely as a result of the bombardment of different elemental spells.

The usually calm mana beast's face was twisted in intense fierceness, as it let out an enraged roar, revealing its sharp sword-like teeth, which were strong enough to shatter the mana shield of any silver core mage like a piece of paper.

A man, most likely an adventure, I guessed from his attire, screamed in intense pain as the yeti tightened its grip around him, squeezing his body like a spunch ball as he struggled for breath.

'Damn, that gotta hurt.'

"Ahhhhhhhh," The man let out a high-pitched cry - terrified as the Yeti brought him up to his gigantic face.

Arrows, spears of fire and earth, air bullets, and Ice dagger along with numerous other elemental long-range spells flew forward, illuminating the whole chamber in various colors.

The mana beast simply raised his unoccupied hand, in a shielding manner, protecting its vitals.

*Boom*

A booming sound resonated as more than half of the spells landed directly on the yeti's body. However, all they managed to inflict were minor injuries, failing to cut through its half-metre thick fur, apart from the fire-based spells which burnt its skin, scorching it black and red.

It was understandable as the Yeti's were mainly adept in ice element, vulnerable to fire. And their main ability lay in their incredibly powerful bodies.

*Roar*

The mana beats roared furiously as he opened his menacing mouth and threw the shouting adventure inside before crunching down.

The adventurer's cry stopped, replaced by the cracking and grinding of bones as the yeti chew his body like having a morning breakfast.

I immediately grimaced at the callous sigh as crimson blood streamed down from the corners of his lips.

"Fu*k! That's disgusting!" said Asher from the side, sounding disgusted by the bloody scene as well.

"Says the guy who eats his snot," I commented.

"What the fuck!" He snapped. "You are the guy who sleeps on mana beast's SHIT everyday. You never brush your teeth or wash your fu*king face. Who knows if you even clean your ass after shitting. And you know what the most disgusting thing is? Yeah, you are probably the result of an asu.....

I Ignored asher's nonsense babbling and swept my gaze across the other end of the chamber.

But suddenly...my eyes widened in extreme shock.

'WTF!

There we 15 people in total, all in typical adventurers' attire, and above the orange core, arranged In three formations of five each.

Conjurers continued to fire long-range spells on the yeti, while augmenters fended off the continuous onslaught of A and B class mana beasts, subdued by him, protecting and allowing them to focus.

They cooperated with each other amazingly, speaking of their battle experience and skills. They must all be veterans. But there was one person who stood out from all of them as he shouted commands at conjurers and augmenters alike, to all three of the parties while effortlessly cutting through one mana beast after the other with the swing of his wind-shrouded sword and surprisingly so, I knew him.

Kaspian bladeheart!

Yeah, kaspian. His presence here surprised me but there were several other individuals - five to be exact- whose appearance as far as nearly made my pupils pop out of their sockets.

Although not as good as kaspian,

They fought rather skillfully as well, their attack timings synchronizing exceptionally well with each other.

'Twin horns!'

'What the fu*k are they doing here!'

'I have never interacted with them so how could I affect their fate as well?'

My eyes narrowed with uncertainty as I gazed at them.

'Is it also a butterfly effect?'

There were many significantly more powerful and experienced adventures than twin horns in dicathen and judging by Kaspian's presence here, I could guess that this mission should be extremely important for dicathen, then why!? what is the logic behind sending the twin horns!?

I couldn't help but raise this question in my mind. Their presence was literally unnecessary he- NO, UNLESS! THE DICATHEN WAS LOW ON MAGES!

And...this dungeon isn't the only one they are rading.

This preposition sounded plausible....but then again, why did the twin horns only end in my base?

Though extremely low, however, there is indeed a probability where they do end up here.

'Then can I assume it as a mere coincidence?'

Or is it....fate?

'No, No,' I immediately shook my head, Nothing would come out thinking about this right now. I don't have excess to aether yet, so even if it is fate, there is nothing I can do about it.

However...it also does not mean that I'll be controlled in the palm of someone's hand. If fate wants me to run into twin horns, I simply won't.

And If I don't want them to see me, they won't be able to, even if fate desires so.

*Roar*

The yeti let out a loud roar, grabbing me out of my train of thoughts.

I looked ahead, only to see it bend slightly in a readying stance and the next moment, the giant mana beast leapt forward, as a two-meter-deep crater formed in the ground beneath its feet.

It moved with breathneck speed, effortlessly drifting through the cluster of spells, betraying the judgement one could have when looking at its huge body, which undoubtedly weighed more than a ton.

The adventurers looked in horror as they realised that the multilayered mana shield they had around them would most probably wouldn't be able to endure the Yeti's charge.

One of the formations immediately fell, as many of the adventurers tried to flee, detecting the danger.

Kaspian's shouts never ceased as he yelled out commands after commands to stabilize them, but in the face of death, even the bravest of the warriors lose their rationality.

Then...the humongous mana beast plummet down and...

*Boom*
