CHAPTER 12 : STEALING

A bed, separated by a nightstand, was against the left-hand wall, while on the right side was a long drawer for folded clothes. The sleeping area was separated from the studying area by a wall that came up to My waist, with three elevated steps leading to an arrangement of desk and a couche.

After putting my luggage in my room, I decided to have a little tour of the academy.

As I was walking around the academy, Suddenly, a loud explosion startled me, as well as the students walking nearby. Something was happening at the end of the marble walkway.

Then, the realisation hit me, widening my eyes in shock. 'Don't tell me'. I thought.

"I don't see how a short-ass dwarf like you can even hope to be a proper augmenter. Why don't you stick to forging weapons for real warriors like me?"

"What the hell did you say? Who d'ya think you are, anyway?"

'Yup, here it is.' I sighed

"Declare the duel, short-ass, so we can start! My name is Nicolas Dreyl. Or are you all bark and no bite?" The human smirked.

"Tch! You're gonna be sorry. I accept the duel."  The dwarf said.

The result of their fight was exactly the same as I had seen before.

Just when the human was about to attack the defenceless dwarf, I heard a familiar voice.

"Is that the student council president I see? She's coming over!"

Looking in the direction of the source, I was met with the figure of a boy, with long Auburn brown hair and bright azure eyes.

Arthur Lewin in flesh.

To be honest I had mixed feelings towards Arthur. Although most of my knowledge of this world came from the experiences he might go through in the future and apparently he was also one of the many reasons I was able to be reborn in this world, otherwise I might still be wandering in that weird ass void.

However, we were not friends or family and I am definitely not a saint. Although I was indebted to him, I am not making an enemy out of an asura at the age of 11, endangering my family and myself.

I will of course pay him back when the time is right but right now my help would do more harm than good.

I wanna get my hands on Asura's and Djinn's knowledge. And Arthur could be the biggest possible ally in my pursuit.

After looking at the whole ordeal as a good bystander should, I went back to my dorm room.

I had to make some preparations for tonight.

Midnight.

Putting on a black metallic mask, making my body nearly weightless with gravity magic, and augmenting it with a layer of wind utilizing air magic, I made use of mirage walk at the same time, leaking not even a speck of mana. I was only capable of this feat, because of the mental energy and mana manipulation training I did all these years.

Moonlight shone in my eyes, as I looked outside. Taking advantage of the darkness, I jumped out of the window from a height of nearly 20 feet, my hair fluttering in the wind as I free-fell. Just as my feet were about to reach the ground, utilizing gravity magic, I cancelled my momentum, landing nimbly, without making even the slightest sound

Looking around cautiously, I sneaked out of the academy and went in a certain direction.

I moved like a ghost, leaving behind only shadows of my dark cloak.

After half an hour, I stood in front of a massive manor, I was absolutely familiar with.

Looking around for a minute, I found the place I was looking for.

Using the ground as a reference point, I repelled myself upward. In a single thrust, I was nearly 20 ft high in the air. Casting a gust of wind on my back, I propelled myself forward, landing nimbly on the balcony I was eying. Looking at the door in front of me, I skillfully opened it, using a key of pure mana.

Opening it slowly, I walked in, reaching a room Inside which, on a bed, there were two people, sleeping peacefully, a man and a woman

Walking in front of the woman, I eyed her...her neck to be precise and I wasn't disappointed as I found what I was looking for. Reaching out my hand, I slowly pulled it off of her neck, careful not to wake her up in the process.

Then I take a look at the pendant in my hand. The main jewel was a very soft, yet radiant pink colour carefully ornamented and decorated in a thin white-gold chain. It really was beautiful.

Looking at the woman, I pulled out a similar-looking pendant from my pocket, underneath my cloak and carefully put it on her neck. Then pocketed the main pendant.

Smirking at my successful endeavour, I came out of the room, closing the door behind me. I went back to the academy.

"Huh," I heaved a sight of relief, sitting on a chair

"Hehe," Pulling out the pendant, I grinned, looking at it,

I've always felt very fascinated by this pendant and its teleportation ability. If I could figure out how it works, then I'd have a very powerful life-saving technique up my sleeve.

As for Alice Lewin, well..... of course I'll return it to her after researching it thoroughly. In the memories I saw, she never used this pendant, so I don't think it would do her any harm if I borrow it for some time.

(Guys, please rate the novel If you like it..)
