C 11. The Door to...

As they passed many people, they saw a lot of them that were behaving like the prince's sister. One time they were normal, the next they were dull.

After reaching the forefront of the entire assembly, their bubble broke out of their control, and they flew back to their original position.

The prince returned to his people. Samuel went to his clans' men and the mysterious women went back to their position.

But along the way, they saw someone was being pulled back from the far back of the entire assembly.

He is the seventh person that they have been looking for. He wore a black robe with a hood. From his lower face that was showing from under the hood, they saw a smirk plastered.

"He knows we are looking for him!" The prince's sister said absent-mindedly.

The more they get closed to the fissure, the more flabbergasted they become.

Because their entire vision was occupied by the cracked to the extent it looked like a behemoth opening its mouth the closer they were, ready to swallow them.

And by the time they were very close, even the prince was only hanging on with his consciousness.

The feeling reminds him how small he is, and the crack becomes an entity that swallows everything to fill up the crack.

The light coming from the crack blinded him, and he went buzz for a minute then he returned to normal. They were inside.

The view? Nothing changed. It's another vast space that created its ecosystem, clouds overhead and clouds beneath.

The bubbles sped up amidst the colourful clouds, and then dive through the cloud. The destination became apparent.

The vast ground was barren with no trees or animals nearby, at least they did not see anything living.

As the distance reduced toward the ground they gradually reached it. The ground was a flat solid rock with faded ancient drawings.

They were situated by facing a hundred-meter long slightly opened door. As Adam watched the door carefully, he concluded that if the door was not opened they might not see it.

Because the wall and the door are not meant to be distinguished if the door was closed.

He looked down and saw his legs were slightly above the ground, and every other person.

'So, this marks the end of our journey in this bubble. And now we have to walk on the ground by ourselves.'

Adam observes their situation for some time and comes up with some hypotheses.

'The reason why we are suspended above the air and remain in the bubble despite being close to the floor was to reduce the tension we will feel if the bubble ceased to exist.

This might be just my speculation, but it's likely the answer. We have travelled countless miles from the Surface World to the Mountain World, and now we stood at the genuine Maze Door in three days.

Hunger, thirst, fatigue are all erased from us. Above all we have been awake with no sleep, constantly watching all the scenery with a clear mind and enthusiasm.

The bubble might have protected us from the element and speed inertia, but that does not mean we will not feel the side effects of the journey immediately after the bubble disappears.' After concluding one of his hypotheses, he considers other factors.

'Maybe, there will not be any side effects, as this is a bonafide Supreme elders' doing, from the Mother City at that.

So, the reason we are still in the bubble is this places' temperature, pressures and humidity, and radiation that is not attuned to us, so we are staying here, and the bubble is adjusting our body to suit the place.

Or, it's something all different.' √\(^-^)√\

After Adam finished his thought he inquired of the elder.

Back when they were still outside at the top of the mountain he saw the elder. Somehow he felt the bubble has a connection with the elder. That realization alone opened a door of conversation between the two.

And Adam did not hold back with his tsunami of questions. He felt invigorated and excited as he found someone that can serve as his library.

Though there are questions that he did not get their answers to, as the elder said he needed to seek the answer at relevant sources, he gained a lot of insight and understanding of the world.

And the most important thing he learned was that Mother City was just the secondary reason why they were sent here. The sole reason was the maze itself.

The Supreme elder said, there is no place in the planet Udrala that is more suitable for a human to initiate as an Orb Holder than within the confined space of the Maze.

The reason is not hard to understand but something very easy that even a child can understand.

The surface world is filled with powerful beasts, monsters, and human Orbiters. Each one of them, one way or the other, leaks mental energy.

Like the Ocean Empire, Ancient Whale, he subconsciously leaked mental energy to his surroundings. That is why he produces a suppressing feeling to the forest wherever he passes.

Due to the continuous leaking of mental energy from the Orbiters, the beast makes the world filled with a collision of mental power that transforms into an entirely new power. And that power affects anyone that is at the budding stage of becoming an Orbiter.

The most simple example is, if a powerful fire Orbiter is close to a person that is becoming an Orb holder, that person may subconsciously feel inclined to master flame.

In that case, the surface world is polluted with other powerful beings' wills and mental forces. Underground palaces or schools are built to filter the pollution if a nation wants to produce an Orb Holder.

But even with that, it can not filter the energy completely.

The maze was made in a way that can filter the pollution. And the deeper one goes down the maze the purer the air be. Until it reached a point where the air is as pure as the virgin world.
