Chapter 1: The Awakening

Damien Winters woke up to the sound of his alarm blaring in his ear. He groaned and reached out to hit the snooze button, but as he did, he realized something was wrong. His hand felt different. He opened his eyes to see that his hand was covered in scales. He sat up, his heart racing as he took in his surroundings. Everything looked familiar, but it also felt foreign.

Damien looked down at his body and saw that he was covered in scales from head to toe. He felt a surge of panic rising in him as he stumbled out of bed and looked at himself in the mirror. His reflection confirmed his worst fears; he had been transformed into a dragon.

Damien was no ordinary human. He was a powerful mage who had spent his entire life studying magic and mastering the elements. But this transformation was something beyond his understanding. He had no idea how or why it had happened. All he knew was that he had to find a way to reverse it.

He quickly got dressed and left his apartment, trying to avoid drawing attention to himself. As he walked through the streets, he noticed that people were staring at him, but not in fear. They looked at him with awe and reverence, as if he were some kind of deity.

Damien made his way to the mage's guild, hoping to find some answers. The guild was a large building in the center of the city, and it was where all the mages of the kingdom came to train and study. As he entered, he was greeted by the sight of hundreds of mages, all studying and practicing their magic.

Damien approached the guildmaster, a wise old mage named Alistair. Alistair was the most respected mage in the kingdom, and he was known for his wisdom and knowledge.

"Alistair, something has happened to me," Damien said, his voice trembling with fear. "I've been transformed into a dragon."

Alistair looked at Damien with a mixture of shock and curiosity. "This is unprecedented," he said. "I've never heard of a mage being transformed into a dragon before."

He took Damien to a private chamber, where they could speak in privacy. Alistair examined Damien and performed various tests to determine the cause of his transformation. After hours of examination, he finally came to a conclusion.

"It seems that your transformation was caused by an ancient curse," Alistair said. "This curse was placed on a powerful dragon centuries ago, and it has been passed down through the generations. Somehow, it has affected you."

Damien was horrified. He had no idea how he was going to reverse the curse. Alistair explained that the only way to reverse the curse was to find the source of the curse and destroy it. But the source of the curse was hidden deep within the mountains, in a place known only to a few.

Damien knew what he had to do. He had to embark on a dangerous journey to find the source of the curse and destroy it. It was a journey that would take him across the kingdom and through perilous terrain. But he was determined to do whatever it took to reverse the curse and regain his humanity.

With that determination in his heart, Damien set out on his quest, leaving behind the only life he had ever known.
