Chapter 4

I barely got any sleep last night, and I had to set off in an hour

I kept thinking about him calling me.

I never wanted to hear from that again.

"Kehlani are you ready?!"

"Yeah, I'm coming down now!" If I didn't get to see Grace soon, then I'd be really upset.

She was one of the few people who understood me the most and I honestly loved her so much.

I snapped out of my thoughts and headed down the stairs.

"Hey, if Josh comes to Spain with you then please rip some of his hair out for me. Also, tell him - I told you to do it before he thinks you're going crazy." I tried to keep a serious face for as long as I could.

"Kehlani I am not ripping my friend's hair out just because you don't like him." Grace snapped.

I held my hands up in mock surrender "Calm down hunny I was kidding."

"Kehlani I know you. You ain't kidding, the next time you see him you will probably rip his hair out."

I loved how she knew exactly was I wanted to do. He was always a bit of a creep and he just gave me weird vibes, that's why I never liked him.

"Guys can we go now? I honestly don't want to stay here and listen to what Kehlani wants to do to Josh." Kaiden's whining reached my ears.

"Let's go then."

"Munchkin!" My grandpa engulfed me in a hug and I felt the love he had for me radiating off him.

"I've missed you so much grandpa." I said, trying to keep the tears at bay.

"What about me gramps?"

"Shut up Kaiden." Grandpa laughed.

Kaide stomps off to his room muttering under his breath.

"What about aunt Hazel? No one missed me?"

My pregnant Aunt comes into view with her husband Michael in tow.

"Oh, my Lord!" I gasped dramatically.

"Why the fuck have you been eating so much! You've gotten so fat."

Hazel twirls slowly letting my eyes roam over her expanding belly.

"Don't you think I suit looking like a whale?" She laughed.

"You're my whale. And then our baby whale is coming out in 4 months." Michael kissed her head and walked out of the living room with my grandpa.

"Where's grandma?"

"Mum has just gone out with Leo. They're visiting James and Kayleigh." she smiled happily.

"I've got to go but Leo's staying here tonight so you can go out with him later." she walked out the room with her back arched slightly.

When I got to my room, the familiar smell brought back unwanted memories.

When I pulled my phone out of my back pocket, I saw I had 3 new messages.

Meet me at our spot tonight at 8 - Unknown

God, this guy couldn't leave me alone.

What a weirdo.

I didn't know if I should go to meet him or not.

I wanted to know why he couldn't let me live my life in peace.

But I didn't want to see him. It'd just bring up the past, and I didn't want to reminisce the painful memories.

No. I had to do this. If I didn't, then I'd never know what the outcome would be if I didn't meet up with him.

With my mind made up, I stripped out of my clothes and hopped into the shower.

When I stepped out of the shower and I looked at the state of my hair, I decided to just let it air dry.

I exited the bathroom and checked what time it was.

7:40 pm.

Great.

I let my towel drop on the bed and wore my PINK bra and panty set. Then I grabbed my black leggings and a black jumper and hurriedly put them on. I took my UGG boots and put them on after wearing white socks.

"Grandma, I'm heading out I'll have dinner out and I might come home late so don't wait up for me!" I yelled while I headed out the front door.

I walked down the dimly lit street taking slow strides to be purposefully late.

About 30 minutes later I arrived at the diner and spotted him at a table drumming his fingers on the table impatiently.

"What do you want from me?" I sat down and stared at him in the eyes.

"Hey, Princess."

"Don't call me that. I'm not your princess anymore" I sighed heavily whilst picking up the menu since I knew my stomach would rumble in less than 3 minutes.

"You're right, I'm sorry," I knew he had something else to say. He had a mischievous spark in his chocolate eyes. "you're my queen. And put the menu down I've already ordered." He smirked cockily.

"Wipe that smirk off your face right now or else i'll cas-"

"So this is the bitch you've left me for? She's so ugly and fat." a high-pitched voice said came from a red-head bimbo.

"Leave now Shauna." He growled out in frustration.

"You!" Shauna pointed a finger at me in anger "You ugly bitch you stole my man!"

"Erm first things first this," I pointed to my body "Isn't fat. It's called being thick with 2 cc's not that there's anything wrong with being overweight. Second, if I'm so ugly then how come I could steal your man?" A smug smirk appeared on my face and I leaned back into the booth.

"Ugh!" Shauna stormed out of the diner in frustration.

"I'm sorry about that Kehlani. She's just a girl I hooked up with a few weeks ago."

"Wow Noah your taste in women has dropped, now where's the food I'm starving." my stomach rumbled quietly.

A black-haired waitress walked towards us with our food in her hands and I could see Noah staring at her with an unknown emotion swirling in his eyes.

"Kehlani? Is that really you?" A quiet voice muttered.

"Bailey?"

"Oh, my God it really is you! I've missed you so much. I haven't seen you in forever." she pulled me in a hug and I swear my eyes teared up.

Bailey was my best friend when I was younger. Once we left mum's house and had to go live with Max, we lost contact because Max didn't like her and we haven't talked since. I knew her since we were 2. Her mum knew my mum so we instantly connected.

"Noah." she nodded curtly at him.

"I have to go Kehlani because my mum needs me to finish the last table but I'll come round your grandma's tomorrow." She smiled happily.

"How do you know she's staying at her grandma's? Her mum has a house here too you know." Noah retorted.

"I know Bryley and I know that her house is getting refurbished right now and that it'll get done tomorrow so Lani is staying at her grandma's for a day or two." she huffed, crossing her arms angrily.

"How do you know Bailey? I didn't even know that!" My mouth was watering, the food was that good. I had a feeling that if I kept eating so much then my hours at the gym would have to increase.

"Don't talk with your mouth full pig. And my mum is the interior designer, so she told me. Now, I've got to go. Bye pig. Bye ogre." she gave him a dirty look and left our table.

I swallowed my food and looked at Noah's food to see that it was untouched.

"Why did you send me so many texts? I want nothing to do with you or your family." I spat.

"You don't understand Kehlani. We need you. You were my best friend and nothing is the same without you. Please don't let this ruin our friendship."

"Fuck you." I gave him a dirty look and ate 1 more spoonful of my food.

I gathered my things and left the diner leaving no money to pay for the meal.

He wanted me there. Okay then. He can pay for the food too.
