[Volume 1] Chapter 2- Transimigation

"Hah, I thought I was dead. Thank God it's just a dream," Jiho exclaimed as she sighed and patted her chest in relief.

"You are not dreaming; you are really dead," suddenly a voice chimed from the front, causing Jiho to jump in surprise and a screech left her mouth as she closed her eyes, "kyaaaaa."

"Ugh, you fool, what the hell are you shouting for!" Hearing a hoarse voice, Jiho turned around to see the source but soon, a sudden thud made her jump. An apple had been thrown, hitting her squarely on the back, leaving her shocked. Slowly, her expression shifted from surprise to anger, and her hair seemed to bristle with fury.

"Who the hell wants to die that badly?" Jiho, whose eyes had already turned red from anger, clenched the apple angrily and turned around while making a pose like a professional bowler, and as she threw the ball.

SWISH

As the ball flew through the air and as it was just about to hit the target, it suddenly stopped in mid-air. "As reckless as always," in a hoarse voice, the person sighed, revealing an old man with blue eyes and a stick with a crystal on its head sitting in front of her on a white sofa looking at jiho with annoyed expression, almost like... immediately, Jiho sat up straight, surveying her surroundings—a pure white room with no other colors.

"Hello, my child," the old man gave a mocking smile as he looked at Jiho.

"Hah, I must be dreaming. How can that old man still be here? Now it's time to wake up," Jiho pinched her cheeks and closed her eyes to ensure she wasn't dreaming. When she opened her eyes, she was surprised to find herself in the white room.

"Now stop trying to deny; you are already dead," the old man said with an annoying expression as he stood up and walked toward her.

'What, but how?'

As she tried to filter through her memories, she realized that last night, she did not get injured; instead, she got killed! Jiho felt like her head was going to explode. "I... I am really dead?" Jiho did not want to accept that she was dead, but the old man in front of her indicated otherwise.

She looked at her hands, which were without a single wound, and touched her chest, looking as she remembered before being shot by her own mother. She let out a cry, "Is this karma? Is it because I didn't kill that family of mine before? Or is it because I trusted a bastard friend to call the cops as soon as possible? What is it?"

He came forward, hitting her head. "You damn girl, is this what I taught you?" His expression was angry, yet his eyes betrayed worry.

"Master," a simple smile came on her face.

The old master looked at her amber eyes, lacking purpose, and seeing his beloved student in this state, uttered, "Jiho, you promised me that you would live a normal life after your revenge. Is this how you repay me?".

Jiho thought that the master was going a bit too hard on her, which was why she licked her lips and then said, "Master, it's not my fault. How could I know they were so eager to kill me?".

"Do you think I am a fool? You can't die by those pests!" The old man looked at Jiho with anger; his voice was dripping with mockery even though Jiho had no blood connection with him, but he already knew this student of his, this girl... sigh, seeing her master's still angry face, Jiho became frustrated.

She said it with a carefree tone, but for others, it was heartbreaking. "It's not like I don't want to, but it's that I have no reason."

SIGH

This child.

The master narrowed his eyes with anger as he looked at Jiho and gritted his teeth, then announced, "Good, I think you have no regret, right? Now it's time for your punishment for breaking your promise with me."

As he spoke, Jiho felt her eyes roll in her sockets, and she passed out again. A whisper escaped her lips, "Ugh, it hurts."

Bewilderment painted her expression as she inquired, "Master, what do you mean?" Upon opening her eyes, she found herself in a room resembling an ancient house. As she glanced around.

Okay, so it's not a hospital either.

"Ahhhhhh," Jiho suddenly felt like her head was going to explode. She couldn't understand what was going on around her; all she knew was that she was going to die! How can someone's head hurt this much? Was it because of this so-called transmigration? Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her head, recovered, and discovered unfamiliar memories that weren't hers.

After the pain subsided, she recalled a memory and exclaimed, 'You damn old man, don't let me find you or I will color your white hair into red.' She silently cursed a few times in her heart and then put aside the messy thoughts.

As she was lost in her thoughts, she heard a sound of someone coming and picked up a stone from the floor, stared at the door in an alert expression.

The visitor opened the door with a pot of hot water and a rough bowl filled with porridge in her hands and saw Jiho sitting on the bed.

She said with a hint of surprise in her voice, "Aiyo! You are awake! You collapsed suddenly; I thought you would not wake up again." As she stared at the person she recognized from the original owner's memory and called her "Aunt Zhang."

Aunt Zhang was a short and thin old woman. Because she had not been able to eat enough during the year and was working hard in the field, her back was a little bent down. She spoke harshly but was a good woman at heart.

"Haa, I can't believe it. How can you harm yourself for that mere... if anything happened to you? What face can I show to your dead parents, huh?" She tried to be as harsh as possible, but her eyes could not hide how worried she is.

"I understand, Aunt. I will never do something like this again." It was the first time that someone other than her master showed such a worried look for her.

Aunt Zhang, of course, did not believe her. "Hump, let's wait and see," as she put the tray down and walked out.
