Ain made sure that he will be right at the exact spot the more reason he even called Urchin from the orphanage. When they landed in the middle of a pathway. Ain just sighed when he can't find any sign of house even after walking for hours.
"Are you sure this is the place?" Nimrod asked as he sat by the side line.
"Yes. I can feel a supernatural presence here."
Ain gulped as he felt the his throat getting irratic as he speak. Ain started clearing his throat but end up coughing endlessly.
Nimrod started rubbing Ain's back.
"We should keep going to find some drinks around here." Nimrod suggested.
Ain agreed as he struggled to keep himself from coughing but itches his larynx.
Ole and Sycamore started to fell bad for themselves since they haven't taken a bath.
"I stink. " Ole muttured as she pull her dried hair.
"yeah, I feel sorry for my skin." Sycamore whimpered.
"We need to dig. We have no choice but live with it." Ole advised as she stood up.
The two started to dig for almost a week but they only keep producing a harden soil.
"If this keeps on... then I have to shave my hair." Ole proclaimed.
Sycamore started laughing at the suggestion.
"It will break Ophir's heart."
Saga blinked his eyes as he stood in front if the fountain. Cherith was summoned by Agsus for some thing urgent that it left Saga to take a trip at the burnt orphanage. He clasped the bracelet in his palm. It was tiny and old. The word Saga was on the egg like bracelet. The carvings and uneven shape were like a child's work. Saga now recalled that it was himself who picked the woods and asked his father to create one.
"She named the misspelled name of my father to me." Saga muttured.
It was not the right moment to be giddy. but he can't help it.
The half burnt fountain got crushed for the land's renovation. The old building will be renewed as the children resides at Taffy's hotel. Saga tries his best to contain himself as a month passed by. Aside from Ole and Sycamore, Ain and Nimrod haven't return yet.
The huge house started to get lonely. Cherith and Urchin are constantly visiting Ophir. Selah, Agsus and Fur are tending the shop. It was like the more days pass by, the more space they got in the house. A space that is cold and unfamiliar.
Ain and Nimrod knocked at the first house they spotted. It was simple cabin made of hut and woods. The door was unlocked by a middle age man with brown hair and dark eyes. He was carrying a son in his arm that is exactly his carbon copy.
"How can I help you?" The man's voice was husky and gentle but it had a tint of curiosity.
"Water... sir.. we need water." Nimrod shyly informed.
"Oh, get inside. It seems that you've been walking for long." The man welcomed.
"Thank you," Nimrod spoke as they get inside the small house.
"My wife left to harvest some mushroom. She might be in her way. Kindly take some water at that huge jar." The man stated as he tended the fire since he was cooking.
"So, you came from the city and was looking for a woman named Wifey? Oh, I am Dimre by the way." the man introduced as he scoop some soup from the pot he was cooking.
"It's chocolate rice with milk. You can eat it." The man added.
"Yes, she is my friend's girlfriend." Nimrod reason out.
"I see, I am not really sure but you can check it tomorrow. Since it's getting late, you can sleep here." Dimre offered as he heared his wife's voice from the entrance. She was holding a basket of mushroom and fresh fish. The hem of her long skirt were wet.
"I am home. I got us some fish." She announced with a smile.
"Yes, good work. We have some visitors. They are Ain and Nimrod." Dimre informed his wife.
"Welcome. I am Talya." the wife politely introduced.
Ole and Sycamore decided to scan the area further than the place. The two started to pitch thier tent every stop they arrived at.
"This is tirring we started for three days but haven't found any stream nor lake." Sycamore complained.
"We have no choice. We have to keep living and get home. I bet it was pointless for us to be here." Ole sighed.
"I can't stand my smell. My skin are getting black. My hair are hard as a stick and now my clothes are not that far from becoming a rug."
Sycamore whimpered as he tried hugging the wind to atleast lessen his odour.
"Yeah, I feel the same. We should camp here and..." Ole's words were cutt off when it started raining. The two jump for joy and took a bath.
"It is raining! It is raining!" Sycamore claimed as he laughed and started cleaning himself.
"Yes, we are in a different place. We are out of famine." Ole sanged as she uttured a gratitude of praise up the sky.
Ain and Nimrod thanked Dimre and his wife. They started to follow the course and track given by the couple. They already visited every house but Wife was nowhere to be found.
"This is annoying. We went through each houses but nobody knows Wifey." Nimrod hissed.
"Yeah, it's strange I felt like this place does not only hold a few people but the supernatural presence grew stronger as we get deep within the village." Ain spoke.
"What if Wifey is not really in this place?" Nimrod raised.
"I have this hunch that he is here." Ain firmly stated.
The dark figure cast upon the weedy surface intercept with the rays of light. Her shadow engulfed the whole town and put on a spell that she does not exist. Her tummy might have been slim but she knew that Ain will surely take her to a place where her child will be put in danger.
