Systemless in a Parallel World

As the Gods descended onto Earth to bless their children to save them from the threat of extinction, supernatural beings were born with the help of the System. However, not everyone was blessed. Zayn was a 'Normie', but he was quite happy about that! Who the hell needs the Blessing of a God or a spoon-feeding system? I don't! As long as I had the Grimoire of the Ancient, some fragmented memories of my past, and my Army of Spirits, not even Gods would dare to look me in the eyes! (The War aspect won't be present from the initial chapter!) ** This is a fantasy novel. If you think everything will be logical or follow the same laws as it is in reality...I'm sorry! Back in Town

While fighting tirelessly, the Human Spirit crushed every single Goblin Skeleton in and near the cavern entrance before it returned next to Zayn to guard him against any threat that might arise in the surrounding area.

'Are there no more Skeletons of Adventurers?'

Zayn was glad that they had encountered only Goblin Skeletons in the area of the cavern entrance. It made things a lot easier for him and the Human Spirit, but there were a few things he was suspicious about nonetheless.

Was he just unlucky to encounter the two human Skeletons, when he went down the tunnel of the Goblin Cave or was it a planned move of his opponents?

If it was the latter, it made sense that more human Skeletons were hiding deeper inside the cave and that they were just biding their time, waiting for better opportunities to overwhelm their opponents.

The two human Skeletons Zayn encountered before had shown signs of intelligence. It was not impossible that other Skeletons were similar in that regard!

'Or they're being controlled by someone in the deeper parts of the cave…' Zayn thought all of a sudden when he recalled the animosity and eerie feeling which he sensed on going deeper inside the tunnel.

He was thinking hard while piercing through the purple marbles that were littered throughout the cavern entrance. Zayn walked around calmly, while the Human Spirit tailed him.

There was not even the slightest sign of exhaustion in the movements and stature of the Human Spirit, but that made sense. Spirits were tireless existences that didn't need food, water, or rest. They could move as long as they had soul particles!

Spirits would only use up soul particles when it was absolutely necessary such as using special techniques that required soul particles to be exerted or to heal wounds. Maintaining their shape drained soul particles as well, but their master could transfer soul particles to them.

They could even replenish the soul particles while resting inside the Grimoire of the Ancient!

That was why Zayn's Spirits could be considered tireless fighters. They were very easy to use and didn't require a lot of care or attention.

While ensuring to damage the purple marbles as little as possible, Zayn got his hands on enough soul particles to further enlarge the empty snippet and increase the amount of soul particles in his body drastically as well.

His physique improved and he healed a little bit faster. Zayn's control of the Human Spirit was more refined now and he chose to continue to rest for a while so as to prepare for the strenuous walk back to the town once it would get brighter.

Entering one of the three cavern tunnels might help him to earn a bigger fortune faster by collecting more purple marbles but Zayn could hardly rely on the Human Spirit to fight against too many opponents at the same time.

Zayn had completed the task he had come for, which was to collect some soul particles and weave the Grimoire of the Ancient's first page, and he had achieved far more than that. Except for the injuries he sustained, one could say that he had passed his 'mission' with flying colors and received ten out of five stars!

Wiping the sweat off his forehead, he sat down on the cave's floor, leaned against the wall, and finally allowed himself to rest his body for a few more hours. A handful of Goblin Skeletons found their way to the cavern entrance but they were quickly eliminated.

Zayn was not worried as long as there were only Goblin Skeletons that emerged from the three cavern tunnels.

The Spirit Human wielding the huge Silver Iron Warhammer was the perfect weapon in his arsenal for the Skeletons, which he was certain of, but there were still a few things that had to be taken care of.

Arrogance wouldn't help him against hundreds of Undead that might appear from all sides the moment he descended into one of the three tunnels. That was why he ended up leaving the cave the moment the first rays of sunlight shone into the cavern entrance.

His thigh was still hurting but that was already it. Even the bruise on his head didn't hurt anymore, let alone the long scratch on his back.

"I made a huge haul for my first hunt. I earned a total of 25 purple marbles of unknown value, two Silver Iron Weapons, and a Human Spirit. Seems like it was worth the effort I put in!"

Zayn was satisfied with his gains but there was one small issue that he noticed only when he was back in town.

Nobody was supposed to see the Human Spirit, which was why it was stored inside the Grimoire of the Ancient. Unfortunately, the huge Warhammer was still lying around, which was why Zayn had to store his shortsword inside the pants bag to free his hands. Then he used every bit of strength his tired muscles could provide to carry around the Warhammer.

The muscles in his head turned red like a tomato while walking around with a Warhammer that weighed more than a hundred kilograms. The Warhammer was was three heads longer than him and most of its weight was concentrated at its head. Thus, Zayn often lost his balance and swayed left and right while walking through the town.

Quite a few passersby threw him weird stares as he walked through the cobbled street but Zayn ignored them completely. As long as nobody would think of robbing him, everything would be fine.

Fortunately, he was left alone and he made his way to the nearest merchant before noon.

Panting and sweating like a pig, Zayn spent two more minutes before finding his way to the counter of the shop.

Only when he lowered the huge Warhammer to the ground was Zayn finally able to take a few deep breaths and glance at the interior of the shop.

It was a clean shop following the darkwood theme. The shelves, furniture, and floor were made from the same type of dark brown wood. It looked luxurious even if it was a rather cheap material that got imported from the adjacent regions.

"What do you want, Normie?" The Merchant asked the moment he took a look at Zayn's arms. There was no sign of a Stigma, meaning that there was no need for the merchant to show any respect to Zayn.

'This piece of shit… If you want to make business, you should behave properly!!' He grumbled inwardly while praising himself for being able to keep his mouth shut.

"If you want to sell this Selvia-type Warhammer, I can give you five silver coins for it. The Silver Iron used for this type of weapon is more than enough to make a bunch of good weapons."

Zayn squinted his eyes while looking suspiciously at the Merchant, knowing deep down that he was trying to scam him.

The ridiculous amount of Silver Iron used to forge the weapon was definitely worth more than five silver coins!

"The Warhammer is not for sale!" Zayn thus responded, his eyes glaring daggers at the skinny merchant, who was more focused on his fingernails than anything else. He only looked up at him again when he heard what Zayn had said nonchalantly.

"You piece of shit! Don't waste my fucking time!"
