Save Brenda

After teaming up with Frida, Brenda's usefulness to Vale decreased drastically. However, Vale's intuition told him to help the girl. Vale remembered that Frida was targeted by the nobles because of her talent, and Brenda was also a talented girl. Vale couldn't help but wonder if Brenda was actually hiding her talent.

It was quite possible that she was. Before a person manifests their talent, it can feel like a burden. People tend to be jealous of someone who is talented, and the excessive attention is not always a good thing. Therefore, Vale felt there was a possibility that Brenda was hiding her talent.

"Even if she lost her talent, helping someone isn't a bad thing. After all, I've been on the opposite side of the noble students since I decided to cooperate with Frida," Vale whispered as he expressed his thoughts.

Meanwhile, Frida heard that Brenda was surrounded by several noble students and turned to Vale with a serious expression.

"We have to help her. You probably don't know, but Brenda is from the Martine family. That family serves the royal family. They weren't noble back then, but the king raised their family to be nobles 70 years ago."

"So she's not against the royal family?" asked Vale.

Frida nodded slowly. If that was the case, then Vale really had to save her.

"I will use Spider Dance to get there as fast as I can. Do you have any movement-type magic technique? Otherwise, I will carry you," Vale asked Frida, considering that she had not shown any movement-type magic techniques in front of him.

"I have it. Just lead the way quickly."

"Tsk, you don't need to be so mean," Vale replied.

Vale cast the Spider Dance magic technique and began to swing towards the location where Brenda was. Beside him, Frida's body was surrounded by blue light, indicating she was able to jump from one tree to another quickly. After confirming that Frida had a movement-type magic technique, Vale accelerated the pace of each swing.

Ten minutes later, Vale and Frida arrived at the place where Brenda was. As soon as they arrived, they saw the situation. Fortunately, the fight hadn't started yet. The five noble students who surrounded Brenda were still making fun of her.

Vale set foot on a tree trunk 10 meters from Brenda. "Do we need to kill them all?" he asked.

"Do it quickly. Those people may have objects that can save lives," Frida replied in a brief tone.

Most noble students had at least one thing that could save their lives. As Frida had explained to Vale, Holman had an item that could make him swap positions with his subordinates in the blink of an eye. Although the item was disposable, it was enough to save Holman's life from Vale's surprise attack.

"O fairy of the wind, wreak havoc on the earth, a blast of anger!"

Vale used the magic technique, Blast of Anger, which he had previously used in a duel against Kirilenko. As he cast the spell, the chaotic wind covered the area around Brenda and the five noble students in a cloud of dust.

Frida, who had been leaping forward with all her might, unsheathed her sword and chanted, "Slashing the blue sky!" The blade glowed blue, and she quickly sliced through one of the noble students, killing one of them instantly.

Not to be outdone, Vale used lightning spear to eliminate another noble student. Unfortunately, the Blast of Anger spell dissipated before they could take down the third.

"Fidelis! Sabine!" A female noble student cried out in shock upon seeing her two friends die.

"—Hexagon barrier," meanwhile, a male student wearing glasses reacted quickly. He cast a defensive-type magic technique after seeing the state of his two companions.

"Frida! How dare you kill our friend! I will never forgive you!" The noble girl stared angrily at Frida. She clenched her hand tightly while glaring at Frida.

However, Alex Horizon, the elder brother of Excel Horizon, urged his companions to leave quickly. "Yor! Colbert! Control your anger. We have to leave now."

Yor, the noble girl who was still staring angrily at Frida, exhaled deeply and then nodded slowly, "Let's go."

"Do you think I will let you go?" Frida asked in a flat tone. She raised her sword upwards. Slowly, the blood-red glow swallowed Frida's sword.

She raised her sword and chanted, "Sword's will. Sixth way of the sword breath. Sinking the red sun!"

The sword caused a sense of danger to spread throughout Alex's body. He knew that Colbert's Hexagon Barrier would not hold up against Frida's technique. Quickly, he took out a scroll from his pocket.

But Frida was already lunging towards the three. She pierced her sword through the Hexagon Barrier with ease and destroyed it in three seconds. Luckily, Alex was able to unroll the scroll just in time.

At that very moment, the scroll Alex had taken from his pocket projected a magic circle, emanating a bright light. From within the circle emerged a massive humanoid figure that stood three meters tall. The being had a human-like shape but was entirely composed of rock.

"It's a golem," Vale exclaimed as he recognized the creature.

Frida was facing the golem and had been struggling to defeat it. On the other side, the three noble students had run away in fear, but Vale realized they were only able to escape because of Frida's strength. It didn't mean they were weaker than him.

"Hey, Vale, help me," Frida shouted, her voice brimming with urgency.

Vale saw that the golem could regenerate itself, even if Frida cut off its limbs several times. The golem was holding itself together, making it almost impossible to defeat. Vale began casting a spell.

"—Reincarnation of the forest: Binding."

With Vale's spell, a tree grew rapidly from under the golem's feet, binding it and limiting its movements. The tree continued to grow with every passing second, and in a matter of twenty seconds, the golem stopped struggling and became still.

"Sword will. Fourth way of the sword breath, the fall of the moon."

Frida, now with the chance to attack, swung her sword repeatedly. Each swing produced a glowing crescent-shaped energy that sliced through the golem. She repeated this until the golem was reduced to a small piece of rock.

"Well done, Frida," Vale praised her, proud of her accomplishment.

Frida breathed heavily, feeling relieved that the golem was finally defeated.
