Disciplinary Committee (01)

"So why are you dropping out of the tournament, Rei?" Malkeith asked

"I'm joining the Disciplinary Committee and I think it wouldn't be appropriate for me to participate."

"That's. not your real reason is it?" Malkeiths eyes squinted watching me.

"I have other personal reasons as well."

"Very well... Then you know that the committee is staffing the tournament right."

"Y-yea, that's fine." I stuttered

********

Following Gareth, he led me to a door that had the words 'Disciplinary Committee' on it. Opening the door I saw many unique faces, they had been debating about something I didn't really understand.

"Our new recruit is here..." Gareth announced

They ignored him and continued arguing.

"Our new recruit is here!" Gareth snapped

All of them got silent and turned their heads toward me and Gareth.

"Please introduce yourselves to him," Gareth said while covering his face showing his disappointment.

They all looked at each other and soon a girl with silver hair and silver eyes stood up. She walked over to me and gestured for a handshake.

"I'm the leader of this fiasco, Arcadia."

"It's okay, they seem uh spirited," I commented.

I shook her hand and she turned around.

"Introduce yourselves starting from the left."

A small girl with brown hair and green eyes spoke in a shy voice, "I'm, Phiesa Verden."

Next, a boy with dark blue hair and blue eyes spoke, "Laigel."

After Laigel was an extremely tall muscular boy with brown hair and yellow eyes, " Mongar."

The final person to speak was a handsome boy with Blonde hair and green eyes, "It's good to meet you, I'm Donmac."

Speaking up as soon as introductions were over was Arcadia," You probably already know this but we're all commoners, the students here don't treat us well but with you here it's a big help. Go ahead and take a seat over there, also your uniform is in that changing room in the back corner when the meeting is over you can switch into it."

After Arcadia had finished talking I walked over to my seat, to my right was Phiesa, and to my left was Laigel. The table was quiet and everyone kind of sat there staring into space...

'This is awkward...'

"So uh... What were you guys passionately talking about earlier?"

"Edmund Hein," Mongar mumbled

"That bastard pisses me off." Laigel fumed

"Haha, language Laigel, I'll explain the problem to you, Rei." Donmac cleared his throat before explaining to me their issue.

Donmac then told me about how Edmund Hein had been actively harassing commoners, it seemed that didn't do it for him so he recently started harassing nobles specifically females which made his behavior a problem apparently. The academy is funded greatly by the Hein family, after all, Edmund's father was the prime minister of the Empire, so they can't directly deal with him so they put the nearly impossible to deal with the problem in the hand of the disciplinary committee.

"Hmmm, I'm a noble too despite my family having far more fame than his, our status is not as high... But I'm sure Edmund will listen to reasoning after all I'm older than him."

I was uncertain about dealing with Edmund, with my Mana Heart on the verge of destruction I probably can't beat anyone attending this school... Edmund will probably throw me around like a ragdoll.

"I'll approach him if he does anything wrong soon, but I can't promise anything if a conflict starts I won't be able to fight against him," I said with a mix of uncertainty in my voice

"Why not, are you afraid he will beat you up or something?" Mongar added

'He's not far off...'

"No, I just have my reasons," I said but I really was just trying to protect my pride.

**********

My regular uniform was a black and white uniform that was simple and looked like something any scholar would wear, but the Disciplinary Committee uniform was mainly white with golden outlines, which gave it a sense of authority.

'Not too shabby, although it does stand out a bit.'

The rest of the school day was simple, I didn't really pay attention in most of my classes besides swordsmanship where all we did was train with simple motions. A perk of being on the Disciplinary Committee was an early release on your last class, my last class happened to be spellcraft... If we had to do anything practical ever I thought it would be over for me, but I could just skip the class on that day.

To make up for my early release I decided to work on my swordsmanship in my personal training room after all with my dying Mana Heart and all it's basically all I can do. Using Draconic Force was a last resort from now on, even using it just a tiny bit on my fingertips would give me a fatal backlash, all I could truly rely on was weapons and martial arts.

After about 40 minutes of constantly rotating between two of the sword forms I used as Zenith, I decided to take a break in the common room. The strange metal pole that I considered a TV was actually called a thread projector here... Though that's kind of weird to say so I stuck with saying TV when referring to it.

"Welcome home," I said when I heard the door open behind me.

"So this is what you meant when you said they gave you a weird roommate."

I heard a strange voice behind me turning around I saw Dawn with an unfamiliar girl with long brown hair and green eyes.

"Rei, this is my friend, she's visiting but you don't need to mind her."

"Didn't you say guests weren't allowed?"

"I also said those rules only apply to you," Dawn answered

"Fair point."

Getting up I walked over and greeted Airene.

"It's nice to meet you, I'm Rei Ven-August."

"It's great to meet you as well Rei, I'm Airene Terasthine."

After greeting Dawn and Airene I decided to take a small nap before training again, entering my room I closed my door and shut off my lights I then jumped in my bed and got comfortable... After that my consciousness slipped and I awoke in a familiar cabin.
