Chapter 33: Beating the Fifth Best

"Can you summon your sword, or can you not?"

Eader spit out the tea, metaphorically.

Mythra asked, knowing the clumsy two wanted to ask that.

Eader nodded his head, "no, I can't summon it," thankful not telling the truth. He had already tidied the mess the clumsy people made.

Mythra was brought up with equity and that pride was the most important thing, she was aloud to come here only by lying to her bodyguards, saying she was at Evalynn place, luckily it was Friday, and Evalynn was good enough for her parents. But sadly some weren't, stroking Eader's hair.

The detective was ready to work, they had all the info and it was Friday, that meant he could do a long shift and sleep on Sunday. They both walked away, giving conversation and theories about the group. When I arrived at the black car, it started to rain.

"Well, we got lucky," Charlotte said, happy not getting wet. They drove off and went to the police station. They arrived it was still falling, so they parked the car and ran to shelter, they would not get wet but it would get cold as there was still the exploded hole.

The police station was a mess, Charlotte was wondering if it always was in this state of chaos, but remembered something she heard on the news. The explosion took a whole room up, she was once in that room too, shame it died.

A police officer was murdered, protecting the detective, what a way to go out. She was never in the police station (this specific one), so she was surprised when it was this huge, there were painting and doorways every were the silk red-clack carpet went well with the almond wall, having a creamy rim at the bottom, when feeling it was strong as pistachios.

Then I saw others rooms, some having steaks and many spices on it, nearly all having bleached lemons on it (and a rare black one popped up).

Few had roasted chicken, they looked comfy. Her resilience ran out, "let's grab something to eat," elbowing the detective hard, making people look, but carry on, and a guy ran past, having a dog in his hands.

When I saw the first rim, it looked lively, after eating it looked calmer, tranquil with peace. Until a nut job started arguing, so they left. The food area had ok food, but Charlotte really liked any type of food, they walked out leaving the weak rubbly wall and the blue chair infested place, with long tables attached to them like atoms.

They arrived in his office, very small and almost a mirror image of his school office. He looked through the paper, and Charlotte started getting agitated.

"Explain to me I am here?"

She said the "I" stronger than the rest.

The detective sighed, and looked at her fiercely, "you are gonna help me find the group, and help me look for clues, ok," the "Ok" was more robust than the rest.

She looked at him, strolled closer but tripped over the pine table, they were on top of each other, she felt for some reason comfortable. She grabbed a falling object and threw it at the door.

When they were finished, Charlotte sighed, "did you find any info?"

He pulled out a piece of paper, "let's do this."

What the detective held was about a document saying who owns the warehouse. She smiled and they left the room making their way to her.

The first people to leave were the four girls, leaving Samuel behind. Emilia was the first to speak when leaving the house, "so what were you and that nerd doing upstairs?"

This caught her of guard, as they turned the corner, her face was close to nce Adam's boyfriend.

"wa-wa, um, um," she only stuttered, not even saying a single word. Then Evalynn stepped in, "Emilia, stop it, she is with Adam, isn't that right?"

They were crossing the road, no car in sight, just a few other people walking, and a young sporty man running. "well, not anymore," they all stopped and looked at her, making her be at the back. "What do you mean?"

Mythra asked the question, curious for the reasons.

"Well," she poked her fingers, "He complained I did nothing, I told him to stop doing this, then he was mad at me," raising her tone, "and says that it was her fault for picking a guy like that. I mean is he demented!" she raised very high and very loud to the end, a person started but thought nothing of it.

The three were impressed, "ok, that's good, you should be with a guy like that, ok," she nodded enthusiastically, Mythra patted her head, as being taller than her.

"So what happened between you and Samuel?"

This was the aim all along, she smiled trying to make it pleasant for her. She blushed hard, not knowing what to say.

"Just leave her alone you two, ok, she is obviously uncomfortable," she gave a stern face and this made her realise that she was the smallest out of the four.

They all looked at her, she was nervous.

They just kept staring at her, making her even more nervous. But for the wrong reason.

Omg, is there something wrong? Is he not in their standards?

She kept freaking out, but got surprised and hugged by Emilia. "Aww, you are so cute," she said, making her give a smug face, which made the other be mesmerised by her face.

They kept on walking, turning a corner, there were guys there, drunken men after a hard day's work. They saw the girls and one of them got thoughts, he poked two people next to him, making them look at them. There were five people altogether, the other ones at the side told them to stop but they did not listen, "Hey girls," he said in a deep voice, fairly small for his age, being a mid-thirty guy. But the girls were not listen as they got into an argument. One of the other drunk guys laughed, he got irritated. He then pulled him over but the non drunk guy pulled him back," Stop it no-"

Bang!!

He knocked him back onto the road, luckily there was no car. He started shouting with irate, "you dumb***, you think you are better than me!"

This caused the girls to see, "now, now let's just-"

"And you! " his voice raised high to the sober people, "you will pay for that time, remember when you did a prank on me, huh, cause I remember!"

He screamed it everyone on the street heard (but it was only the two groups there).

But the man got aggressive, taking out his sword, it was a long sword but grey, the other guys held him back, but he overpowered them. Not having enough strength from the evening, he got ready to strike down.

Abruptly, a shine manifested and the guys saw a mid length sword, having a brown shine, chocolate, and had the handle had a shite grip, comfortable and soft. In addition, they smelt a beautiful fragrance, one that was very pleasant and it would distract the enemy. This happened before the man could react,

Swoosh!

The sword flew away. This startled the man but he started to fight back with fist, not caring about anything.

"Woah, what was that?"

Jennifer asked, impressed by the nice show. Mythra replied, "this is her sword, beautiful, isn't it?"

She spoke, boasting about her friend, and Jennifer was proven why she was Mythra's friend. Then they saw the men's faces and Emilia walked forward. "Hello boys," she greeted them but with no smile.

There was clashing in the background, as the fighters were moving away and the man picked up his sword.

"Hello, sorry about this inconvenience," the man that got pushed onto the road spoke.

"I hope you don't take this to heart, you see, this happened a lot more than we hope, but we got caught off guard, so thank you very much," he bowed his head, a worker class as rarely people done that.

She nodded, but he carried on, "can I compensate in any way for the trouble?"

He started taking out his wallet, but as much as she wanted to accept, she stopped him before he took out the money.

"Don't worry, we don't need anything," she smiled at him, which was pleasant for him, he grinned back, "thanks," then he walked away to help his friends.
