A Business Proposal

"Ms. Emerson," he says, his voice smooth and even. "Thank you for coming." 

The man certainly looks scary but Robin lifts her chin, refusing to be cowed by his intimidating demeanor.

"If you're here to accept my thanks now, I'm more than happy to provide it," she says, her voice cool and composed.

Vlad's blue eyes widen ever so slightly, a flicker of surprise crossing his features.

 It's a subtle reaction, but one that doesn't escape Robin's keen observation.

"You," Vlad utters, his voice tinged with a mix of disbelief and something else - recognition, perhaps. 

"Yes, me," Robin replies, her tone laced with a hint of dry amusement. She comes to a stop before him, tilting her head slightly as she regards him. "I was the woman you helped this morning." 

Vlad swallows audibly, composing himself before speaking again. "I didn't expect it to be you." His brow furrows, the lines of his face hardening.
