Married to who?

"And I prefer staying with my wife." Adam grabbed her by the wrist, pulling her right into his arms.

Azalea smiled, wrapping her arm around his neck, and pulling his face closer to her. Adam was stunned to react to her making moves like that. "Then find yourself a new wife. See you later, Husband." Azalea softly whispered in his ear, pulling herself away.

She left before Adam could even process her words and react to them. By the time Adam understood her words Azalea was already gone she had taken a taxi back home.

***

Azalea leaned back at her seat, as she got into the taxi and gave the driver her destination. Once all alone, everything that happened started to sink in. How easily did she agree to this marriage?

"Well, no point of regretting…he will soon get bored of me…" Azalea remarked to herself, staring out of the window.

The sunny weather had faded to gloomy weather. The raindrop had splattered on the window and glided down leaving a trail of watermark.

Just as seasons change, feelings change, people change…and so does love. Azalea always knew nothing was permanent...and love was most fleeting among them. Azalea knew all too well that Adam has no such feelings called love, just a deal to him yet every time he gets close to her her mind tells her he loves her. It tells her to make the same mistake once again of falling in love.

Being at the crossroads, she tried her best to evade. Now the only thing she could do was run. Run as far as she could. By the time she reached her apartment, the rain had turned into a storm. The furious gray sky roared as she got out of the taxi and paid the driver. The rain started to grow heavier, drenching her as she tried to take a quick sprint to her floor.

The light of the floor flickered as she got out of the elevator, fully drenched in the cold rain. The empty corridor seemed eery, as a strange feeling crept behind her. Not thinking much, Azalea headed straight to her room, focusing her anxious mind on the lock.

As time passed the spooky hunch grew, and Azalea's mind grew anxious. Her heart palpitating rapidly, and with the thunder growling in the distance, the key in her hand slipped. An arm enveloped her from behind.

"Lea…" The familiar voice with a strong stench smell of alcohol wrapped around her. Petrified to her place, it took a few seconds for Azalea to get out of her shock and break free from his grip.

Daniel tried to grab her once, surprised by her reaction. "What's wrong, Lea? Are you still angry with me?" Daniel muttered, his hands extending to touch her cheek.

Disgusted by his actions, Azalea took a step back, "What are you doing here?" She inquired in a cold voice, picking up the key from the ground.

Daniel let out a sad smile, pulling his hand back. "Of course to meet you. Let's get back together, I can't live without you." He whispered.

If Azalea didn't know his true nature, she would be once again fooled by his sweet words. How cruel can he be? She loved him with all her heart yet what did she get in return other than betrayal? "Tell me why should I? Do you love me? Did you for once look at me, as just more than a substitute for your ex?" Azalea spared a glance at him. She was tired. How many times has this same conversation taken place yet it remained the same? Nothing changed.

"Are those the only things you care about? Tell me when did I treat you badly? If you are that insecure, then let's get married." Daniel grabbed her hand, forcefully trying to drag her towards the elevator.

"Let go of me!" Azalea yelled, struggling to break free from his grasp. Having no option, she bit hard on his arm, taking him by surprise. Taking the chance, Azalea shoved Daniel to the ground and dashed straight to her apartment. She saw Daniel crying in pain, trying to stand up again. Azalea picked up her ket from the ground, her eyes still fixated at Daniel who had stood up and started to walk towards her. As fear took over, she hurriedly opened her door and entered her house.

As Azalea was about to close the door, a hand stopped it. Forcefully trespassing into her apartment. Azalea could feel her whole body turn cold as Daniel slowly walked closer to her. Azalea involuntarily took steps backward, as horror gushed over her. She was well aware that he was nowhere in his right mind and could do anything.

"You are not going to listen when I am being gentle, right?" Daniel calmly stated, locking the front door and glancing back at her. He let out a chuckle, brushing his finger through his hazel-hue hair, "Fine, then let's do it your way. You want to give your first to your husband, right? If I were your first, you would have no option but to just be with me." Daniel's words sent a chill down Azalea's spine.

Azalea knew this was no good. Why did the past she wanted to leave ever so badly return and ruin her more? If this was how love is supposed to be, then she hates the idea of being in love… Azalea took a few deep breaths, well aware her freaking out was only going to escalate the situation more?

"Daniel, I am already married," Azalea stated as calmly as she could. Trying to grab onto the vase behind her.

Thunder crashed right at the window, and Daniel remained frozen in his place, as the noise of rain pouring grew louder in the background. Daniel burst out into laughter, taking a step closer to her.

"You are married to who?" Daniel asked, grabbing the lamp put in the drawer right beside him and crashing it to the floor. Startled, Azalea's grasp on the vase tightened.

"You must be f**king kidding me! How can you even think about that? You are such a f**king w**re!!" Daniel went berserk as he started hurling anything that came his way. In just a few seconds, the whole room had turned into a mess.

Shattered pieces of glass, and half-destructed furniture filled the floor. Azalea remained terrified of her place, her eyes brimming up with tears, her face ghostly pale as if every bit of blood was sucked out of her body, leaving behind a shell that would crumble into dust any moment.

Once Daniel destroyed almost everything, his eyes averted towards Azalea. "How could you do this to me?!" Daniel yelled, running straight up to her.
