Caesar exhaled softly, hating that feeling of fear—the fear of losing someone he needed, tightening in his chest. It was like something he'd never felt, not once in his life.

Adeline wasn't sure what to do with him tiredly resting his head against her shoulder. But she lifted her hands, beginning to caress his hair as if wanting to calm him down.
"If there is something you want to tell me, let me know, Caesar," she said.
Caesar grumbled. "You wouldn't want to know. I would scare you."
"Scare me?" Adeline arched a comical brow, shaking her head in amusement. "I'm not sure what it is that you think could possibly scare me, but, Caesar, I'm tough, you know. You said it yourself, so don't assume, I'd' be afraid that easily."
