"Kairan: Surviving in the Modern World" CHAPTER 12

It's already afternoon and the only report that I receive is that Ash is still in the house having a meeting with (mom) and (dad). If the meeting is about cancelling the engagement then that's fine I would be glad, but if it was something that will go against me, then that's definitely a pain in ass, for now let's think positively.

  Today I decided to take a walk with Sarah since I have nothing to do.

"By the way my lady, I heard that you will start your study again, it's been a while"

"Yeah, they said that to me yesterday but I requested to go to a different University, ohh~ what does it look like studying in University?" --Sarah

"Hmmm—there is a lot of difficult subjects and a lot of students of course, but be careful on choosing your friends, also bullying is common in Universities especially to those who is not wealthy and piece of advice, don't ever mock people just because they looks so weak, if they are studying in the prestigious University and they seems like someone who cannot pay their own tuition that mean they are scholars"

"Scholar, that means they are geniuses?"

"Yes, some Schools and Universities offer scholarships. I think they do that for their image."

"Hmm—is that so?"

"But my lady I dare to ask you this but-- when you lost your memories you lost it all? I mean everything like simple things?"

Oops—I made a mistake! This is what I get from asking too much. What should I say? That 'no I came from another world and now I am living in your lady Kairen's body' like that?

"E-ehem, y-yeah most likely, when I woke up I don't even know what phone is"

I said and tried my best not to look so nervous.

"So how do you know things now and use them?"

"Ahh~ I made a friend in the hospital, she's a nurse that assign to take care of me and she teach me basic things"

I said looking on the ground while taking little steps. I didn't hear any reply or reaction from her. That's why I decided to take a look at Sarah. She was standing a few steps behind me staring at me with disbelief.

"My lady? Did you actually make a friend? For real?"   

"Yeah I did, so what?

I asked her but she suddenly ran towards me and grabbed both of my hands while her eyes were sparkling.

"My lady is finally full grow and make her first friend"

Sarah is now jumping in happiness and has a flower and sparkling aura. She's similar to the Sarah I know in my previous world.

After walking in the garden I decided to come back to my room and read this interesting picture book again. I know that picture books are made for kids to enjoy reading stories, but somehow this picture book is not meant for kids, it has violence and mature content, it has dialogue and the images are only black and white and this is cool. I also read some romance genres and that increases my expectations of men.

"My lady I bring some snacks"

I heard Malou's voice. I told her to 'come in' then she entered holding a tray of food, she put it on the table that suited two people that I requested last night. I stand up and sit on the chair and she hands over an envelope to me. I opened it and read. 

'They didn't talk about the engagement, they didn't mention it even once, but they mention that my lady is taking study on University that you've never done. I also heard that they are planning to send someone for them to keep eyes and ears to monitor your behavior. That's all'

After reading the letter I set it on fire and let it burn on the tray. 

"Thank you for your hard work." 

I start eating my snacks. 

If they are planning to have someone to spy on me inside the University then I can cut the act of good and sweet daughter, what about the thing that I've never done? Going to University? Perhaps they are doing this for me to think we have an ordinary family that has a lot of money?

"Malou get me some paper and pen"

I wrote a letter for Silver again. Studying is both an advantage and disadvantage to me. My advantage is I can meet Silver there so we can talk personally, second I can find someone that willing make contract to me even if they are commoner, but my disadvantage is there is someone will watch my actions if I didn't identify that person as soon as possible I maybe end up on ruining my survival plan and showing my whole plan to them, and without noticing that they already know what I am about to do.

I gave the letter to Malou with my own identification seal. It is used in my world to Identify who the sender is by giving or writing the sender's name. 

"Give this letter to Chiki, she knows what to do with it."

I said and started eating again. After eating, Malou places the letter inside of her clothes since it's just a small one and cleans the table, I get back to my bed and grab the picture book again.

"Malou? What do you call this?"

I asked, showing the book in my hand.

"That's called manga"

Hmmm—manga ahh

Day passes and now I am ready to have my first University life. I brought Sarah and Chiki with me while Malou and Xyri left to become my eyes and ears while I am gone. Xyri is one of the newest male servants that Sarah recommended to me. We also have some terms of agreement like Malou, I don't need many, I need some who are reliable and loyal toward me.

Malou is still acting like before, hating me to her core and Xyri is working at man force leading the male staff in the kitchen and male workers within the house.

I am now standing on the front of the gate saying goodbye to (mom) and (dad).

"Bye (mom) and (dad), take care while I am gone, I promise to study hard to make both of you proud of me"

I said and hugged them. I saw Malou start to whisper to the other maids and it looks like the maids agree with her. 

I am now walking and waving to say goodbye, my cheek hurts because of too much smiling, so when I face the road I immediately remove the fake smile and get into the car.
