Chapter 44 Proposition
After a while, John finally returned to the shelter. He could see that some of Rose's men were in the center of the shelter, forming three lines.
The one in command of these three groups, clearly, was one of Rose's trusted companions, her bodyguard – the one to whom John had given the gun Kate.
Upon seeing John, the lady in charge Kate bowed her head, and John simply nodded in acknowledgment.
He went inside a wooden house and found Rose there, engaged in a conversation with Olivia.
Both Rose and Olivia stopped talking when they noticed John's return.
Rose was relieved to see him, fearing that something might have happened to him since he ventured into the forest so late at night and hadn't returned.
On the other hand, Olivia felt embarrassed, her head was down, clearly blushing and feeling awkward about what had happened the previous night.
John, who had entered, looked at Rose and then at Olivia without any sign of embarrassment.
