WEI CHANG

Today is the third day of me being in the body of concubine Wei Feng in this unusual world.

Where I have only one aim, becoming the female Monarch's favorite consort, but that doesn't mean I won't have my other plans in the future.

Just last night, I received a letter from the servant of the monarch and, to my surprise, I had been chosen as one of the newest consorts of the Monarch.

But… The only problem is, instead of a main consort, I was selected as a "Mid - Consort" who isn't quite as powerful as the main Consort.

Mid-consorts could also be referred to as servants of the monarch, the only difference is that they serve and work inside the Monarch's quarters, so either way I'll be seeing the monarch as much as I needed.

I made my way towards the Monarch's Chambers. Today I would be moving in to my new chamber that has been prepared for me.

As I walked the long yard, I could feel all eyes on me, after all, it's the first time the Monarch had ever selected a mid-consort instead of a main.

Mid-consorts were usually selected by Ma'am Han, but I was different.

Beside me was Ma'am Han, who would escort me to the Monarch's Chambers to present me to her before taking me to my room.

Just then, I heard voices of men approaching me.

They were three in number and they wore the most beautiful robe I have seen so far. They most be higher ranked consorts to dress so lavishly.

And then I spotted him! The one person I've been eagerly awaiting to meet.

'Wei Chang' Wei feng's younger brother and the third main consort of the Monarch.

It's kinda weird to have two brothers in a harem, and the worst part is that one is at the highest rank and the other at the Lowest.

But I can't blame them, unlike wei Feng, wei Chang had a rather more ambitious side than his brother and he must have done a lot of things to get himself in that rank.

And apart from that, the relationship these two had wasn't what we would call brotherly.

Wei Feng was the eldest child, that we know, but during a period of war back when wei Feng was only just three years of age.

His mother had fought alongside her men in the war, but in the process she had gotten assaulted by the enemy but got her revenge in the end.

But to her dismay, she returned home not alone but with a baby and that was wei Chang.

Because of that, she hated her child and saw him as a reminder of that brutal night she faced in the hands of the enemy.

And as a result of that, poor wei Chang didn't receive the love of a mother nor a father.

He was abandoned by his family and even when wei Feng tried to talk to him, their mother would always separate them from one another.

Soon Chang got used to his life there as an invincible child. When he grew up, he finally realized why he was never loved.

Why his mother never spared him a glance, and why his father always give him a disgusted look each time.

It was because he was a mistake that should have never been born.

And so he stayed away from the so-called happy family. He was smart and had the strength and skills of his mother, while wei Feng was weak and naive.

Although he didn't hate wei Feng, the fact that wei Feng had everything that he could have had was what created a bridge between the two of them.

But now that they were both in the Monarch's harem, he made sure to reach the top and become the Monarch's favorite consort and this time, everything won't always be about his brother.

I sighed, why the hell was I running in to him now of all times?

With him and his companions now closer to us, I and ma'am Han had no other choice but to bow in respect, after all, he was in a higher position than any of us.

"Greetings Consort wei, Consort Rong, and Consort Lan," I heard ma'am Han say, still bowing.

"Mn… You may rise!" They responded in unison as I then raised my head up only to get my green eyes locked with his.

We looked so much alike, we could even be called twins if not for the fact that I looked malnourished and ugly with my scars while he looked healthy and clean.

As soon as my eyes met with his, I looked away, I've never had a sibling before so it was a little awkward for me and I'm sure he knew I was trying to ignore him and he happily ignored me as well.

"Ma'am Han, the Monarch is with General Fei, I think you should postpone whatever you want to do until later tonight!" He said calmly.

Wow, his voice was truly melodious, I'm jealous (Sarcasm).

Meanwhile, I found myself being stared by the two other men who stood beside him.

Consort Rong and Consort Lan

The fourth and fifth Consort of the Monarch, they truly were beautiful but none of them were as beautiful as I am.

"Yes..3rd Consort Wei, we'll take our leave now!" Ma'am Han said as she bowed once more and they passed by us.

But before they left, I heard Wei Cheng say, "You better stay out of trouble unless I'll get you thrown of here sooner than you think!"

He said in a rather unusual Language which I understood perfectly well and with that he left.

With him gone, I crossed my hands as I smirked, "Just wait and see little brother, I'll get myself a rank higher than you'll ever imagine, just give me time and you'll regret saying that!"

In the end, I realized that the devil doesn't have a family.. not in my past life and not in this one.
