On guard

A little while after they left the palace, heading in the direction of the academy, Violet looked out the carriage window and her eyes narrowed as she looked at the passing by magical creatures which made her think back to the beast, she tamed a little while back, making her want to try and tame something even more powerful, something which could help with the impression, during the event, something intimidating and rare to sights.

As she was thinking, Xania glanced at her knowing that her mind was elsewhere and she was thinking about the event, which meant everything to her at this point, since it was something, she needed to go through.

Her brows furrowed as she thought about the creatures she knew of, but yet none of them matched what she was looking for, to suit the image she wanted to portray and she sighed, thinking about who she might bump into at the academy and what will happen in the future, she knew that she could not trust people easily, since there was much more to a person, than meets the eyes.

She knew very well, even behind the most genuine smile, vicious intent could be hidden, and she was not about to let anyone get in the way of what she wanted to do and her goals.

Kei looked at her and he smiled before handing her a chocolate and she glanced at it then took it from him, before thanking him and her looked at it, before eating it and smiled a little, to which Kei chuckled.

Xania sighed, sensing how cautious she was but he knew it was the right way to carry herself, since he knew her very soul at this point, due to the dragon but despite that, he knew the course of fate was completely different, he knew that nothing was predictable anymore and the more she grew, the more complicated things around her will become, which was one of his sources of worry.

As they were nearing the academy, many other carriages passed by but just then, Violet sensed something familiar, a gaze, the very one she sensed after the opening ceremony the day before and her eyes narrowed, wondering if they were being watched of if it really as just a coincidence.

She glanced outside, keeping a cautious eye on that which was around her, just in case something was amiss and not within plain sight.

After a few minutes, they arrived at the entrance gate of the academy, a building which was quite large and had quite a regal look to it, since it was the royal families that built it.

The guards at the entrance, allowed them to enter and when they did, the carriage came to a stop and they stepped out, drawing the attention of many other participants around them and Violet's eyes narrowed as she took in her surroundings, adjusting herself a little to it and Kei patted her shoulder with a genuine smile on his face.

"Are you ready sis?" Kei asked.

"If she wasn't then she wouldn't have come now, would she little bro?" Luca asked and both Violet and Kei rolled their eyes and his brows twitched in annoyance.

"You two... Let's get going or I will get into quite the mood and I do not intend to ruin this day, let's go," He said through gritted teeth and a forced smile as he walked off.

Kei stifled a laugh and both he and Violet, followed Luca, while Xania was getting all the laugh of the situation the siblings were stuck in.

As they walked to the assembly ground, many other participants stared, some in wonder and some in mixed feelings and Violet could sense some of their gazes on her but she did not care, since she knew, most were shocked to see her there and she found their reactions quite priceless.

"They look like they have seen a dead come to life.... It's funny," Kei snickered and Xania chuckled at his cheeky behavior and Violet was slowly opening to him.

Just as she passed by a few participants, one of them called her names and the illegitimate princess, making fun of it adding cursed to the end and she stopped in her tracks as did Kei and Luca glanced at the two and his eyes narrowed.

"What did you just say?" Kei asked to the blonde young man, who talked about her and the young man eyes narrowed.

"What? I am only talking the truth... The facts... In fact, I wonder how someone like her, was able to participate in this event in the first place... Did the king take pity on her?" He asked, in a slightly mocking tone.

Some of his friends snickered, while others warned him to shut up before he regrets even opening his mouth, but he was the cocky type and chose to ignore their warnings.

Kei clenched his fists and his eyes narrowed, as some of the other participants, who were nearby, looked at the scene with caution.

"If I were you, I wouldn't run my mouth so carelessly especially if you don't know crap... You need to be a bit more careful as to who you mouth off to... And learn your place... Who do you think you are in front of me?" Kei asked with a glint in his eyes, and the young man became a little cautious, taking in the way Kei was reacting, though his cocky attitude was still there and he tried to mask the bit of fear with a smug look, which was aggravating Kei.

Luca's eyes narrowed as he looked at his brother, since that was his first-time seeing Kei react like that but then he was not surprised, seeing it was because of Violet.

Before Kei could do anything, Violet stepped in front of him, completely to his surprise as well as Luca's hose eyes narrowed, paying close attention to the unexpected intervention.

"He is right... Do you know me personally to be talking about what you do not know about? Who do you think you are? You may call be that but at least it's still a title, I have but what do you have huh?" Violet asked as her eyes narrowed with a dangerous glint as she approached him with an intimidating aura, surrounding her, making her presence heavy, causing the young man to feel small and shrunk back and those around them, stared.
