Chapter 20: Saving Their Souls

AN: Thank you for the stones. "BLITZ2" and "XxLightSkinZayxX" really appreciate your support.

General POV

As he rushed in, Sam was blasted away by an unseen force before he could properly intervene in the poltergeist's actions. Dean tried to help him but found himself frozen, still unable to move.

Just as the situation seemed dire, a voice from behind them called out, "Boys, do you need a hand?" causing them to give an instant sigh of relief.

They turned to see a figure emerging from the doorway; it was John, their trusted friend.

As he looked at them, he sighed and threw something at them, allowing them to regain control of their bodies.

Sighing, he said to them, "Why is it that every time we meet, you always tend to get involved in something life threatening?"

Hearing this, Dean could not stay still and spoke out teasingly, "More to the point, how is it that every time we are in trouble, you magically appear as if summoned by someone?"

John chuckled, knowing that his friends always found themselves in precarious situations. He simply shrugged and replied, "I guess I just have a knack for being in the right place at the right time."

(AN: Imma nerf you if you break the wall, you little sh*t.)

Chuckling to himself, John then sent a wave of attacks towards where the Poltergeist's energies were most concentrated, causing it to flail around and fiercely resist the attack.

"Stay close," John's voice rang out. "We're going to take this sh*t down."

Sam and Dean nodded silently; their faith in him was unshakable.

After a while, the attack collapsed in on itself, sucking the poltergeist and all its energies into the attack and 'erasing' the entity itself from existence.

"Finally, this is done, but I can sense another existence here as well," John started saying before he concentrated some more. " This one seems to have the feelings of motherly love towards you both."

Sam and Dean instantly got emotional as they could easily guess the identity, or at least the earlier identity, of the entity in question. It was their mother, Mary Winchester.

Sam and Dean felt a sense of overwhelming love and sadness wash over them. They had missed her so much since her death. Sam couldn't hold on and directly inquired, "Could something be done so that we can talk with her?" Dean shook his head sadly, knowing that they would never be able to see her again, no matter how much he wanted it to happen.

John sighed and spoke to them. "I was earlier planning it as a surprise for you guys, but oh well, we have somehow made a container for souls where we could keep the souls who aren't claimed by neither heaven nor hell, like the case is with your mom, and are stuck in this world. I think it will come in handy in this case. What do you guys think?" Sam and Dean exchanged a surprised glance before nodding in agreement. The idea of being able to communicate with their mother again brought a glimmer of hope to their grieving hearts.

They knew that having a way to connect with her would bring them some comfort and closure, despite the unusual circumstances. With grateful smiles, they thanked their friend for his ingenuity and thoughtfulness.

Sam was the first to be able to regain the ability to speak after the shock. " This means so much to us, John. Thank you for being willing to share it with us."

After giving Sam a nod and giving them a few more minutes to collect themselves, John then decided to start the process..

John said, "Alright, let's start the process." after which he brought out a device that would help contain the spirit of Mary Winchester and also allow them to communicate with her.

He then pressed a button, and the device activated, with bright blue lights coming out of it and pulling something akin to gas inside it. He then added, "We are working on a way to let them be able to interact with the physical world as well. I will let you know once we are successful in that, if you guys want."

Finally, after around 10 minutes, it was all done, and all the lingering attachments that could cause entities like spirits to be stuck at a place were removed from the house and collected inside the device, which John then picked up and handed over to Sam, who was the nearest to them. Sam eagerly accepted the device and thanked John for his help.

Then, as if on cue, a female voice sounded out of the device.

"Hello, Sammy, my little boy; it's been a long time since I last saw you."

To be continued

AN:

Well, here it is, the end of another chapter. How do you find the idea used here?

Here is an additional chapter for the week ~~surprise~~

Also, now I know how difficult it is to write a literal OP character inside a novel, but well, it is all good. I have now decided that he won't always use his abilities to their full extent from now on; otherwise, he can just solve the story as a whole, so please bear with me if it seems that he is not using the abilities efficiently.

Also please share your reviews on the story and some of your powerstones if you can spare those shiny stuffs.
