Good Morning

- Good Morning Beautiful

The text from Kishan was the first thing I saw after I turned off my alarm. Surprised my heart began to beat a little faster as I instinctively hid my face in my pillow. Kishan was so direct! I was not ready for a surprise attack first thing in the morning.

I had long enjoyed getting up early to enjoy a quiet morning. My brain does not naturally function well for conversation when I first wake up, so most of the time no one would talk to me till later in the day. If they did they did not expect an answer until after I had coffee. But Kishan did not know this.

After a long moment of my thoughts sorting themselves out, I looked at the time he sent it.

5:50 am. I looked at the time. 6:03 am. 'Does he know when I wake up in the morning?' I could not help but wonder. Still, even if he did not, I would not feel right waiting to answer like I normally would, so I rolled over to answer.

- Morning :)

After pushing send I rolled out of bed.

Ding. My phone went off as I turned on the stove to boil water for my coffee. Though it takes more time to make, I enjoy to make my coffee with a French Press so I can have it as strong as I like. I finished prepping my coffee and sat down at the table to look at my phone.

- How'd you sleep?

- Pretty good once I got to sleep. The girls where here waiting to interrogate me when I got home.

- What did you say?

I paused before I answered, then decided to keep my answer simple.

- That I had a good time.

- I'm glad. What do you have planned for today?

- Work. U?

- Paperwork to get ready for classes. I have to submit my syllabus soon.

- Already?

It was only the beginning of July. Then again I had no idea how the background of a university was run.

He did not answer right away and I lay my head on my arms. Already I was worn-out from conversing so soon after I woke up.

It was then I thought of something my mom would often say. "Once you have kids you won't be able to be so picky in the morning." ..... my thoughts suspended for a moment as I realized if I did marry Kishan, that would happen much sooner than I thought.

Usually in the morning while I had my coffee I would read, but that morning I spent most of the time texting Kishan. I also remembered to send a text to my mom to tell her I would call her that night since I had work.

3 pm. The Bookstore.

I was late getting off of work because I was too focused on setting up the new front display table. When he walked in my co-worker, who stood next to me, began to gently slap my arm repeatedly, so I looked at her. She pointed behind me, causing me to turn around.

Kishan stood there with a gentle smirk on his face, eyes sparkling playfully. In his hand was a large delicately wrapped single yellow rose.

He wore jeans and a plain light blue t-shirt. It was the first time I had seen him in casual clothes, and he looked fine. I could not help but notice his well defined arm muscles that had always been hidden before.

"I came to pick you up," his smooth baritone voice reached my ears breaking me out of my momentary daze. "I thought you got off at 3?" he asked calmly.

"She does," came a female voice from the side. I looked over at my manager who had a huge smile on her face. "Bailey, go clock out. We'll take care of the display."

"Thank you," I finally found my voice. "Just give me a minute," I said to Kishan before darting to the breakroom to grab my purse and clock out. Right before I opened the door to leave the room I caught sight of myself in the full length mirror behind the door.

I wore straight cut dark blue jeans, white slip on walking sneakers, and a loose emerald green t-shirt. My hair was once again in a small, slightly messy pony tail and I was not wearing any make-up. I sighed.

'Maybe I should start paying more attention to how I dress everyday,' I thought to myself as I re-did my pony tail. It was not that I thought I looked bad, but I did not put in much effort either. Being next to Kishan made me aware of just how little effort I spent on appearance.

When I came back to the front of the store Kishan and my manager where talking. My co-worker was clumsily pretending to work on the display as she listened to their conversation.

Inwardly I prepared for another interrogation that was bound to happen when I came in to work the next day. That night I would have to decide exactly how much I would tell them.

"Ready?" Kishan asked noticing my approach.

"Yeah."

"Well it was nice meeting you Kishan," said my manager. "See you tomorrow Bailey."

"Bye," I said blushing a little at her expectant gaze. I would definatly have to decide how much to tell these gossips the next day. With that we left.

"Let's go in my car, we can pick your's up later," he said once the door was closed behind us.

"And where are we going?" I asked raising an eyebrow. He broke into a devlish grin as he handed me the rose.

"You'll see," was all he said.

After we got into the car we only drove for a few minutes before I realized where we were going. Kishan soon parked the car in a free parking spot on the side of the old town road. We were about a block away from the Lakefront.

The Lakefront is literally just that. A narrow park that stretches for several miles along the northshore of Lake Pontchartrain. The old oaks, benches, and walking paths along the water make it a pretty place to come on a nice day.

Kishan had been lucky enough to find a free parking space close to our destination, a snowball stand. After we had our snowballs we walked to the Lakefront and were once again lucky to find a vacant bench swing.

"So what is a stuffed snowball?" Kishan asked as we sat down. I had ordered a stuffed Wedding Cake flavored snowball.

"It means that your shaved ice is stuffed with vanilla ice cream in the middle," I smiled happily taking another bite.

"Hmm, next time I'll have to try it."

"You should. It makes it taste so much better," I paused before I looked over at him. He took a bite of his strawberry snowball, then smiled satisfied. His dark chocolate brown eyes caught me looking over at him. "I wasn't expecting to see you today," I prompted him.

His smile softened as he started to explain. "This morning when Lata woke up she gave me her own little interrogation. When she heard that I like you and have 30 days to get you to agree to marrying me, which is what she understood from how I explained it to her, she said I could not waste any time.

"So after I had finished what I needed to get done today, we decided to go shopping for a present for you. Lata suggested a rose and had Jai pick out the color. Then she said I wasn't allowed to come home until I had delivered it to you personally."

I was suprised by what he said. "She's got quite the personality doesn't she?"

Kishan laughed his eyes full of pride, "That she does."

Thanks for reading! Sorry for the wait. My health is not great so I could not write a chapter yesterday. I might not be able to post again for a couple days because of it either.

I will be continuing this story after the competition as I have fallen in love with it myself. I plan on writing at least 100 chapters. With a release rate of 4 or more chapters a week.

Thank you again to all those who voted for me! <3 Knowing readers are enjoying my story enough to vote is encouraging.
