Out With It

All through the period that they were at Victoria's party, Joan noticed how withdrawn Steve was. He didn't seem to be enjoying the party. 

"Is something wrong?" Joan asked him as they were in the car going back home.

"No, nothing is wrong," he turned to look at her briefly. "Why do you ask?"

Joan shrugged, "you seem like you have something on your mind. Did you enjoy the party?"

"Yes I did," Steve responded.

Joan had noticed the way he was on his phone throughout the party, he kept excusing himself to go and answer his calls. Something was definitely going on with him, and she was going to find out when they get home, she was tired of him telling her nothing was wrong.

All through the remaining drive back to their home, they both didn't speak to each other again.
