Chapter 6_ Get your things here and start working

Jason walked into the building, going straight to his private elevator when he heard someone calling his name. He turned to the direction in which he heard his name.

"Mr. Hughes". A man called walking over to him.

"Sir, the lawyer from HITECH came yesterday when you were out . He was in a hurry so he left the documents with me". The man said.

Meanwhile, Laura just walked into the building with her headphones on singing along to the song playing on the headphones. The moment she walked passed Jason, he freeze up.

"That song, who is singing that song? And that voice". He immediately turned searching for the person. He started walking toward the public elevator because he was sure the person walked inside. But before he could get there the elevator door closed leaving him standing there.

The man he was talking to was surprised. Wondering what made him act that way.

"Mr. Hughes, aren't you going to look at the file?" The man asked

"Bring them to my office". Jason said and got into his elevator.

Laura sat down at her desk getting ready for work.

"Good morning Laura". Kate greeted her. "Morning" Laura replied.

"So are you doing anything this weekend?" Kate asked

"No, why do You ask?"

"Well it's Steve's birthday this weekend and he wants to celebrate it with his close friends and that's why I'm asking you, as my best friend to come". Kate said.

"Kate you know how I feel about parties".

"I know, that's why I'm asking you to come. You need to see what life is all about and now just to sit at home doing nothing". Kate said.

"But ". "no buts ".Kate cut her off. "I will send you the address and please wear something nice".

"Yes, ma". Laura jokes with her.

Laura went to Jason's office to give him some documents. " Sir here are the files you asked for ". Laura said.

"Put them on the desk". He told her, while he was still busy with the computer. She put them on the desk as she was about to leave he called her.

"Have you made the necessary arrangements for the upcoming event"? No, Sir, she replied. Have you called the investors to inform them about our deals?". I haven't sir". She replied.

"Get your things here and start working".

She left the office to get her things. A few minutes later she came back with some files and put them on the table at the side of the office to start her work.

"Do you know what to do?" He asked her. "No sir," she replied. Then he stood up from his chair and he went and sat beside her.

"This line here states their company market record and if you want to get the current one all you have to do is outline it here and there". Jason was instructing her but she was a bit distracted because of their closeness. She can see the outline of her face. His scene was driving her crazy and all she wanted to do was to kiss those lips she keep dreaming about.

"Do you have any questions?" Jason asked pulling her out of her daydream.

"Uh huh yes sir, I understand" she replied. "If you don't understand anything just let me know". he said before going back to his desk. Laura focused on her work and asked him a few questions when needed.

They both worked together for the next couple of days. Jason was impressed with how hardworking she was and how quickly she learned.

Laura is sitting at home watching a movie when her phone rang. She looks at the caller and it was Kate.

"Hello". She Said. And Kate's voice sounds from the other end of the line.

"I've sent the address to your phone so when are you coming?"

" Coming here? Laura was surprised

"How can you forget about Stave's birthday ?" Kate quarries her. "Sorry, I forgot". Laura tried to apologize.

"Now get up, put on something nice, and get your ass here". "Yes, ma'am". Laura said and they both laughed.
