Third Test

This test is a very simple, quick, and effective way to check the mental fortitude of the person. Those who can withstand this pressure can pass and those who can't will fail.

This pressure is not about strength where those who have more strength can lift more weight and can pass easily. This pressure is a mental pressure that people face when they come into contact with being of a higher level.

It is just like the pressure that you feel during your exam time or in front of an interviewer in an interview. They do not do anything to you but you still feel mentally pressured.

If you have courage, determination, and the ability to persevere you can pass this test otherwise you will slowly lose your mental energy and will be failed.

However, this test did not affect John Foster at all. For some unknown reason, the pressure through which his fellow cadet is suffering is simply like a breeze to him. It feels to him as if some ant is trying to put pressure on him. He just feels disdain toward it.

On the other hand, some cadets have already started to have some problems and started leaving the circle. They felt as if the world was crashing on them and if they did not leave they might be crushed and die at any moment. Their mind was buzzing and their ears turned deaf. 

Some people have their eyes turned red due to heavy pressure. Their body was trembling and their breathing was rough. They have veins popping out of their forehead.

They were just clenching their fist and gritting their teeth but still were trying their hardest to preserve.

On his side, Sanli is also having some difficulty but he is just showing some frown on his face and still managing.

Dana Korchoff also has her eyes turned red but there is a determined expression on her face.

After ten minutes only around thirteen thousand people remained standing for the test. The remaining people have already left the circle or are unconscious.

Seeing this result, the middle-aged man shook his head and sighed as if he had already expected this result.

After around thirty minutes, only seven thousand people remain standing. At this moment the middle-aged man stopped his pressure announcing the end of the test. Immediately almost ninety percent of people sat on the ground gasping for the air.

"I just hope I can pass the next test."

The middle-aged man remained standing on the stage and looked around for a moment and after seeing everyone's reaction he announced, "Alright those who are still conscious and are in the circle have passed the test, remaining people may leave."

He paused for a moment then said, "The third test will be about your moral values and your loyalty to your race. Although cultivation and increasing strength are important to us humans fighting for humanity in this boundless universe is also our responsibility. This test will check your loyalty to your people, your race."

After pausing for a moment he continued, "In this test, we are going to use a special type of tool that will use a special type of energy which will put you in an illusion where everything around you will be like reality to you. In that reality, how you make your decision and to how much degree you can sacrifice yourself for the race will determine your score."

After he said this he paused for a moment to let everyone digest the information then continued," To you, this will seem like a long time has passed but in reality, only a few seconds will pass so you don't have to worry about time. In the test, you will also forget everything about yourself but your personality will remain the same."

He continued, "Your test will be monitored by the tool and also be judged by this tool so if your personality is acceptable enough then the tool will pass you otherwise you are yourself to blame. This test does not have a high elimination rate so you should just have a passable personality to pass this test."

After saying all this he took out a few pole-like objects from who knows where and started putting them around the stage. After that, he said," Only fifty people can take the test at the same time so arrange yourself as you have in your previous lining arrangement and start the test."

After saying all this he got to the side of the platform and sat there with another middle-aged man and started discussing something while also putting an attention on the platform."

Immediately fifty people went on the stage to take the test. The remaining people started forming their group of fifty.

After the first group went on the stage, the poles-like tool started lighting up and strands of some bluish energy started swirling around the poles.

After that, the poles send those bluish energy energy strands to the forehead of the cadet. After coming into contact with that energy the cadets immediately started losing their focus and their eyes turned dim as if they were dreaming something.

The remaining students started looking at them carefully for any reactions but they got none.

It seemed like their conscience had already left their body and they were dead but after a few seconds their eye again started focusing and they returned to reality.

After that, they looked around confusingly for a few seconds as if recalling something before again gaining their clarity.

From the side, the middle-aged man said," You have to rest properly today, this test takes a heavy mental toll on the person."
