THE BEGINNING

Black War Town, Abyss Empire, Elantris

This town was named 'Black War Town' because it was rumored that it was the place where history's most apocalyptical war happened. Gods and demons perished. And finally, peace returned to the world. Although It is a rumor, with no evidence to verify the truth. But from time unknown it has became the tradition of the town to pass this story to younger generation. It is said that in that war countless gods died and finally sealed a great demon under the black mountain in this town.

John Foster was sitting on the chair near the window of his house, looking at the blue sky in a daze. The sky is bright with some drifting clouds. Although he is looking at the sky his thoughts were somewhere else.

He has very handsome and equisete facial features with a sharp pointed nose. Eyes shining like bright stars. He has brown hair and black eyes. His body is muscular and well-developed. He certainly fits the category of handsome man.

The house is made up of Brown Brick which comes from 'black mountain', which is a top quality building material in the town. It has a red roof with white walls. It stands out among the green trees and grass that surround it. It is the biggest and most luxurious house in the town.

John Foster was not his real name. His real name was Richard Baron. The Baron family was considered a big family name in the Empire, a family of carpenters. The Baron family was well-known in the area and owned many shops that sold luxurious wood products. Their Red Spiral is famous in even neighboring Empire.

John Foster's father was the second son of the family. He was an illegitimate child, adopted by the family head, therefore, he couldn't take over the family business, so he left the house at the age of fifteen. No one knows from where the family head adopted him but it is said that he took care of him even better than his son.

Due to his father being a zoologist, John Foster's family was pretty well off, not having to worry about food or clothes. They were well respected within the town.

John Foster had always been very intelligent since he was little. He loved to read books and had a lot of ideas. He was proud of his photographic memory and almost instant comprehension ability. Almost everyone in the town unanimously agreed that he was a prodigy who could achieve big things in his life.

His mother died on the very second day of his birth. It is said she has used all her energy in giving birth. His father also died when he was thirteen. However, his father's dead body is never found. It is the authorities who announced his father's death in one of his missions and gave him some compensation which he used in living.

John Foster was always suspicious about this but he could not say anything as he did not have any power, or status whatsoever in this world.

John wants to be a space warrior and is looking in the sky and dreaming about his future. When he first read the book about aliens, space crafts, and other high-end technology, he was very amazed by this. From that day on he was very fond of sci-fi stories and alien war stories. He also though of going into space and fighting some alien species.

Suddenly he saw a spacecraft flying in the sky directly coming towards black war town.

The spacecraft landed directly blasting apart the black mountain with all its inhabitants. Flesh and blood rain down with rock and debris of mountain in the town injuring countless people. Then he saw some alien species coming out and doing something on land. It is as if they are doing some kind of ritual and are trying to break something.

Suddenly dark clouds shrouded the sky, followed by the darkness and chaos that descended upon the earth. A soul body came out from that seal carrying the aura of death and destruction. The soul body features can't be made clear as it sometimes looks real sometimes ethereal. Though, two pairs of red, glowing, and filled with bloodthirst eyes could be seen.

The figure floated in the air and said, "Children, my children, now I'm free. Millions of years of suppression and now finally I will rule this world. Get ready for the new era." The voice was so loud that the air boomed because of suppression. After speaking this, the soul had gone into his spacecraft and disappeared.

After the figures left, everyone went to portal to see any news related to the matter. Foster also went. News anchors were saying that such a creature had never been seen before. When it came, there was an earthquake and tsunami in many places. There was a lot of destruction that had happened during his arrival. It seemed like the doomsday had arrived. Many people were discussing him to know who he was, but nobody knew anything about him. Rumors started spreading about alien invasion, god wrath, etc.

Suddenly Foster remembered that his father was doing research on such a creature and had written about that creature in one of his books. He died while researching this creature. His father told him to find the book if this creature came to the continent in the future. It is very important to this world and to him.

"What is in the book that my father left behind?" all night Frost was thinking about the creature and at last, he fell asleep thinking.

After waking up the next morning, John first went to his father's lab to find that book. The lab is not very big but you can find all types of books here from general knowledge to history books. He looked at all the books very carefully, but he was not able to find that book anywhere. When he did not get that book there, he started leaving from there. He wanted to go to his father's room and check there to see if he could find anything.

Suddenly he saw a very small switch below his father's table in the lab. It was very small and almost in the blind spot. If not for accidentally seeing it he would have very well missed it. He did not even remember seeing it when he previously got there. Unbeknownst to him, this switch came into view when it made contact with the destruction energy when the illusory figure came to the continent. He got there and clicked on the switch. 

Suddenly, the whole building started to vibrate as if it would be destroyed any second however a white light also started shining on his body and his body disappeared from the room. The next instant the whole building is dismantled. When people arrived they started removing the bricks but they did not find anyone. From that day on John Foster disappeared from the town, and only stories remained about a genius who disappeared from the town mysteriously after the arrival of gods.
