Chapter 57: Final Selection

After arriving at Tanjiro's training ground Lukeas instead of waiting and doing nothing decided to wander around and absorb some of the wild life around the mountains.

When he newly acquired the [Blood Demon Art:Biokinesis] his biomass was around 200 the base human biomass but right now after absorbing demons throughout the year Lukeas now has 18,200 biomass.. He killed about 86 demons himself. And right now he could turn into an elephant if he just have the DNA construct of one.

But right now he just made a wings grow on his back which requires around 1390 biomass since he modified it to be able to lift him each of his wings have enough muscle power to lift a freaking car right now. And it's quite sturdy.

And as for now Lukeas is using it to fly around the mountain, while also doing multiple aerial maneuvers in a very awful way and practicing more of his control.. And thats when he noticed that he lack one of the important thing in flying..

"Oh, i dont have the tail... That's why it's so hard to turn!"

And once again Lukeas used more of his biomass to create a eagle tail on his tailbone but in human size needing another 1038 biomass in total.

Also just because he's making new parts from him self doesn't mean he's losing them. His biomass is still 17,200 since the part he made is still a part of his body. So as long as that part stays with him his biomass is still the same.. But that also means if one of his body parts get severed and he couldn't absorb it. He would lose a couple biomass..

And if his biomass reach 0 and he got severed.. He won't be able to regrow and regenerate a new head and would die.. But cuts and stab is fine... Unless the cut took a piece of himself off his body. In that case he would just stop bleeding but he would have a missing flesh on his skin.

So yeah.. Thats one of his weakness... Chop him apart many times and incinerate the severed part so he wouldn't be able to re absorb it.. And when he reach zero.. Just cut off his head and bye bye Lukeas. But if you dont cut him and just stab him out wouldn't work because his body isn't really making a new organ and is only closing the wounds.

But right now lets forget about that.. Because Lukeas saw a good news...

"Ah Tanjiro is wearing the blue kimono now! He's probably heading to the final selection soon!"

At last.. After flying around and absorbing demons and animals for an entire month the story is once again flowing as usual

"God I wish I can time skip"

But i dont care, now finally some action is about to come!

And so I watched as Lukeas fly and glide while tailing Tanjiro who was running on the ground. It took them about 3 days to reach the place of the final selection, of course Lukeas was just matching Tanjiro's speed.

And once they got there Lukeas was surprised as the host of the selection wasn't just the two creepy girls but instead Kagaya himself also came.

Lukeas then softly landed on one of the nearby tree branch the rustling sound attracting a few people. But in the end they couldn't find anything as Lukeas masked his presence and hid.

"Hello children.. I welcome you to the final selection of the demon slayer corps. This examination would test you if you are ready to be a full pledge slayer and protect all the humans.

But i just tell you, this test might cause you to die.. So enough of that.. My two daughter will tell you the details.. I wish you good luck " and with a soft smile he vanish like a dissipating mist.

"You found me" Lukeas smiled as he turned around.

"Hehe.. I have a hunch someone was watching me.. So i guess I'm right." Kagaya chuckled as he looks towards the candidates below them.

"So, what... Or who is it that made you come here?" Kagaya asked after a brief pause of silence.

"Your hunch is scary, man" Lukeas cast a side glance at him before sighing. "Its that guy with the blue haori" Lukeas pointed.

"Oh Tanjiro-kun?" Kagaya replied.

"Yes.. He will be an important figure in this world" He said and went silent.

"I see.. Are you worried your existence might have changed the flow of time?" but then he noticed Lukeas not answering "I'll stop asking about it then" Kagaya said

"Thanks"

Changing the topic Kagaya sigh.

"Its just unfortunate, that not everyone would survive the exam... So many life will be lost.. But letting everyone just join the corps might be more problematic..." Kagaya said before he turned away

"I have to go now... Or I might interfere with the test"

And with that he jumped down the tree and once again dissappear.

"So much have changed..." he said as he watch Kagaya run like a wind with his golden eyes before turning back to the candidates.

'it's starting'

3 hours in and Tanjiro can be seen running around the forest and slaying the demons that tries to attack him.. And all the while he would ask them first if they know how to turn his sister back to normal.

And on the other hand Lukeas is currently walking leisurely when suddenly a wild demon appear!

"its been a while since I tast-" *!SQWELP!* the demon couldn't even finish what he wanted to say when Lukeas vanished from his position and pretty much grab the demons head and crushed it with his hand and promptly absorbed it into himself.

"Now. Lets execute the plan 'Eat all you can'!" Lukeas said as he focused his senses throughout the mountain to locate most of the demons.

And like a passing wind he vanished from his position and appeared a couple dozen of meters away and once again, he stabbed his hand in the demons chest and tear us heart out with a wide and wicked smile.
