Chapter 49: Fuck you Sun!

In the heart of a snowy mountain forest, a brewing blizzard unleashed its fury, intensifying with each passing moment. The once lightly snow-covered surroundings had transformed into a treacherous landscape, shrouded in an impenetrable wall of snowfall. Visibility was reduced to a mere five meters, as the relentless wind carried swirling flurries of snow, obscuring the already thick fog.

And it have been 5 mins since he activated his [Second Gear] and his skin is slowly turning redder and he could feel himself getting more and more overheat, but nothing much of a big deal as he feel like he can still do it for hours, if not, a day.

But what greatly frustrates him was that the trail hes following is getting fainter and fainter to the point that he have lost track of it.

'my senses is enhance but I'm not like that dog, Tanjiro!!! Just where is that freaking traiil!!!' he screamed inwardly and stops on one of the tree branches...

'Right! At this moment the opening of the Demon slayer should be playing right?.. And if my memory serves me right theres indeed a strong storm at that winter.

'Am i perhaps lost?' he thought as he look up in the sky... He couldn't find out if the sun is already out because of how thick the clouds and the fog is.

'Well at least i dont have to worry about fucking burning to death for now' he thought as he once again started jumping from tree to tree with amazing speed.

When suddenly, he heard a faint tremble from afar. Although the sounds of the powerful gales almost covered it up. He still manage to hear the faint rumbling sound coming fro-

'The east!'

And with a renewed vigor Lukeas sharply made a turn and go even faster and jumped longer gaps between trees to fasten his travels.

'Giyu probably already found him.. They might be even fighting right now!.. Wait!... Why is there a storm???... There isn't no storm back in the anime??' as this thought got in his head he wondered if this is perhaps the effect of him arriving at this place..

'That means the time line might have already gone to shit'

And thus he continued his travel. But this time with even more caution than before not knowing what to expect in this world.

And it didn't took him long till he reached the placed where the rumbling came from. But when he arrived Giyu is already nowhere to be seen..

"Another change..." Lukeas muttered before looking down to the ground where he sees to two people.

Tanjiro and Nezuko is currently sleeping side by side with Nezuko having her classic bamboo gag.

Seeing this he didn't wake them up already but sat down and waited for them to wake up naturally.

And it didn't took long enough for Tanjiro to finally wake up. And once he did he couldn't help but exclaim in shock once he found someone staring at him.

"AHHH!!-- I'M SO SORRY!!"

Whats more that person eye was.... Inhuman.. It was like an eye of a dragon from the legends, and he can describe is as fiercely Golden in color. Yet at the same time it carries a bit of playfulness from within.

Of course Lukeas expected this reaction and stayed cool.

"U-uh. Who are you...uh.. Sir?" Tanjiro asked in a hushed tone.

But before Lukeas could even respond Tanjiro suddenly turned to his side and exclaimed. "Ah! Nezuko! Your safe! That's a relief... " and while checking on Nezuko he found a small letter.

"Go to the foot Mount Sagiri... And look for a person named Urokudaki?"

And all the while Tanjiro is reading all the content of the letter Lukeas went to clear his throat and finally getting Tanjiro's attention once again.

"Ah! Right! Who are you?"

"Lukeas..... Uh.." and at this moment his memory flashed back to the moment he got infected by Muzan blood. And remembered a game from earth about a guy with a virus in his body..

"Lukeas Mercer"

"So... You're Mercer.. And your family is Lukeas?" Tanjiro asked tilting his head on the side.

"No no no.. The other way around!"

"Oh! Lukeas then?" Tanjiro corrected himself. And from this on they started having a small conversation.. Pretty much just greeting each other.

When suddenly Tanjiro look up in the sky.. "I.. I have to leave for a bit.. I need to go back home.." he said with a grim face as his eyes started reddening.

"Im sorry I couldn't do anything to protect them." Lukeas suddenly said.. Making Tanjiro look up to him.

"Huh?"

After telling his side of story and of course not including the fact that he's not from this world he and Tanjiro went back to the latter's house.

Which was much easier to do as the blizzard have started fading away slowly.

And then they carefully cleaned the body of Tanjiro's family off the bloods and carefully burry them. And after a quite long prayer for Tanjiro and waiting in Lukeas' case they promptly left. The house and walked down the mountain together with Nezuko.

And in the middle of their walk, the once behaved Nezuko suddenly make a run for it and suddenly hide in one of the nearby cave in one of the small cliff just near the road when suddenly.

"ARRRGHHHH!!!!?!!!!!" A distorted scream suddenly pierce Tanjiro's ears and when he looked back he could see Lukeas literally burning under the sun.

To his horror, he witnessed Lukeas engulfed in agony, his body being consumed by the searing rays of the sun. Lukeas' skin took on an amber-red hue, resembling the burning embers of a coal. Despite the excruciating pain, Tanjiro also noticed that Lukeas' wounds were healing at a rapid rate, as if engaged in a constant battle against the sun's destructive force, caught in a painful cycle of healing and burning.

Wearing a deeply concerned expression, Tanjiro swiftly reached out and grabbed hold of Lukeas, a sense of urgency driving his movements.

Without wasting a moment, he raced towards the cave where Nezuko had sought refuge, his heart pounding with anxiety. With a swift motion, he propelled Lukeas into the safety of the cave, desperately hoping that it would provide respite from the tormenting burns that ravaged his body.

As Lukeas found shelter within the cave, a remarkable transformation occurred. The searing burns that had plagued him just moments before came to an abrupt halt.

The intense heat subsided, replaced by a soothing coolness emanating from the cave's protective shadows.

Breathing heavily, Tanjiro turned his attention to Lukeas, his eyes filled with a mixture of relief and curiosity. In a voice laden with concern, he questioned, "Did you also turned into a demon after the attack?"

Frustration mingled with his worry, his fists involuntarily clenching as he witnessed another individual enduring the same fate as his beloved sister, Nezuko.

"Yeah. Seems like it" Lukeas replied breathing heavily while clutching his chest. It was the most painful experience he have ever experienced.

But whats more pressing than that was.. It was confirmed... 'I'm really am a demon now.... What am k supposed to do? Do i also have to eat human now???!! What about the sun? And Muzan? Does that psycho have control on me??'

Hundreds of questions and thoughts and all the worst scenario went unti his head.. And he started breathing faster in panic. But then he felt a hand on his shoulder..

He look back and saw Nezuko patting him in the shoulder with a clueless blankface.. "... Thanks Nezuko" he sigh.

"Hmph" while Nezuko nodded and went back to digging a Hole..

'W-wait....can my skill.... Holy shit! How did i missed that!!??' Suddenly Lukeas stands up as if he just thought of the best idea in the world..

"Tanjiro!... I have a favor to ask of you...."

"Are you sure of this?" Tanjiro asked Lukeas while eyeing him concernedly.

"Yes... If i passed out just drag me back in the cave... If you also saw me slowly cracking like an ash.. Uhh... I guess pray for my soul?" Lukeas laughed.

And Tanjiro just got even more concerned after hearing that. And all the while Nezuko kept herself safe in thw confines of the little hole she dug and curiously peeking at their antics.

" Three.... Two... Onee..! "

And with that final countdown Lukeas pretty much did a dive and jump out of the cave. And what followed where his screams of pain and him blazing up like a torch.

Nezuko seeing this was alarmed and quickly got up her little base but Tanjiro stopped her but this wasn't enough to stop her.. But then both of them noticed the screams stops..

And of course Tanjiro turned around in worry but what he saw surprised him.

Basically.. What he saw was Lukeas? Sitting up right. Directly under the sun.. His whole body burning. That not even a single strand of hair remains in his head.

But Tanjiro have a different view on this.

'...His scent... It changed!' he thought in his mind then thats when he noticed.

The usual bright and playful Draconic golden eyes was sharp and deep... Like an ancient well filled with mystery..

"I apologize for his behavior... Hes always like this.. As long as it helps him get stronger he doesn't seems to mind the pain.. He suffered too much traumatic experience his brain basically created me just so it can reduce the trauma...." Lukeas? Sigh.. Then look at him self burning

"That idiot... So he plan to adapt sun immunity huh?" He smiled.. It should have been a warm one..

But to Tanjiro? It look creepy as fuck with his cheeks burning off and showing his teeth directly.. Then Lukeas? Looked up.

"Well... Fuck you, Sun" and just gave the sun a crispy middle finger.
