Chapter 30: So, What Did I Missed?

In a lively and bustling hall, filled with people from all walks of life, the air buzzed with the chatter of a thousand different conversations. Amidst the crowd, Lukeas walked, occasionally looking at his wrist as he made his way through.

At first, Lukeas's behavior might have seemed strange to those around him, but the reason for his gaze became evident as he approached. His wrist bore a tattoo, a symbol only those with a star tattoo possessed. It was a device that helped with navigation, management, announcements, and much more. Each student had a personalized one that only they could access.

The tattoo was given to those who had passed the academy's entrance exam, a helping hand to aid them on their journey to getting stronger. This tool was like a holographic tab that displayed various information, including recorded maps, announcements, and other vital data that helped Lukeas navigate the crowded hall with ease. It was a precious asset, a gift bestowed upon those with star tattoos that made his life much more manageable in the bustling and hectic environment.

The star tattoo set him apart as an individual with unique capabilities, and the tool was a manifestation of that distinction. Lukeas hurriedly followed the GPS on his device to attend his first class since the beginning of the school. Finally, he stopped in front of a massive door and took a deep breath before pushing it open.

Inside, he saw a dozen people, all without bracelets, eyeing each other warily. The atmosphere felt tense, and no one seemed to notice him getting inside. Lukeas took a seat and waited for a while. When he could no longer resist his curiosity, he leaned towards his seatmate and asked, "So... What did I miss?"

The person in question looked at him as if he's insane. "Who are you?" the man asked.

"Lukeas" he promptly replied before asking the same question earlier. Which made the man answer it this time.

"Well, Alfrey.. That goofy bastard was suddenly found dead... No one know who killed him... He's... He's a good guy so we dont know why someone would kill him... He was my friend too.. Most of us here are close to him.. So when he died.. Everyone became like this... Its been 9 days since it happened.. And I do-.

"yeah yeah yeah, thanks for that info but I'm talking about the lesson.. What did i missed?" Lukeas cut him out and asked once again. Making the guy besides him looked at him once again like he's insane..

"uhh.. Nothing much.. This past days we only talked about the rules of magic and what not to do so you won't suddenly die.. And we also talked about the characteristics of mana.. And the World's Breath too..."

"World's breath? Whats that?" Lukeas asked in confusion. And the man was about to explain when he suddenly closed his mouth and sat up straight. Completely ignoring Lukeas.

"Hey.. Did you not hear me?.. Whats the World's Breath is about?" he asked once again but the man completely ignored him.

"The breath of the world is the mana that floats around us.. It's also called the world energy. And it's poisonous to humans if they tried absorbing it as the world's will would invade their body and turn them to stone... Have i answered your question Mr. Lukeas?" suddenly someone answered and Lukeas looked up into the teachers table and saw a man with a long black hair and cold droopy eyes. He wore a black cloak around his body as he stands silently infront of all the students.

" Yes.. Thanks professor..." Lukeas replied being careful as he finally noticed the change in the atmosphere as the already tense atmosphere became even more tense..

"Minus 500 points for Lukeas for being loud and disturbing my class.." Snape wannabe suddenly said.. And Lukeas heard a notification in his Star System and alerted him off the deduction in his points.

"I was just asking questions! That's unfair!"

"Minus another 500 for rudely speaking to the teacher"

He was about to do something drastic when felt a painful force slam on his chest and he was suddenly flung away. Crashing into the rooms wall a few meters behind him. But with Lukeas training he completely ignored this and quickly got up as if he just slipped and casually walked forward and put his hands up while pouting. Like a student would when asking for permission to speak.

This surprise the professor in black when he saw him get up from that like nothing. "Yes, Lukeas?" he asked with a small smile.

"Can get the first 500 points deduction back since i have no idea about the rules here earlier?" Lukeas said. He understood that he cant do anything here. So might as well go with the rules of this place..

"hmm.. Perhaps I was a bit rude for not telling you about the rules first... Yes.. I'll give it back.. But from now on.. Please refrain from disturbing the class.." he answered. And not long Lukeas heard a notification that he received 500 points.

"Thank you... Ah.. Lastly, professor.. Since this is my first time in this class and in this school i do not know how will I address you."

"Call me Professor Merlin.. Now go back to seat we'll continue our discussion." Merlin said. And with that Lukeas took a seat and fell in deep thought.

'how did he send me flying... I didn't even see him moved... Nor the pain in my chest doesn't resemble a punch or a kick... Is it magic?.... Yes.. It's likely magic.... But he didn't do any chants or any gesture... Or is he just that good??'

"Ok class.. Since were done with the basic understanding of mana.. We're now going to learn how to apply it to create magic.. I know some of you are already capable of doing so.. So i hope you help your fellow friends to understand it easier.. And for those who didn't have a teacher that awaken their mana... Just wait for your turn and I'll awaken them for you.. "
