Chapter 12: Go to sleep!

Looking down he realized Andrew was only shot in the shoulder. And is not lethal.. He sighed.. "Dont worry ma'am he isn't dead." .. 'Not yet at least' he added on his mind. As he was sure an assassin wouldn't use a simple arrow to kill their targets.. He then drag Andrews body deeper in the carriage away from the door.

'Removing the arrow will cause bleeding, but letting it stay may speed up the poisons effect..'.....after thinking for a while he decided to pull the arrow out.. Inciting a loud groan of pain from andrew. "Sorry mate but i gotta do it.." Alex even stepped forward but her mother hold her back.. "Let him do it... Relax.. Hes trying to help"

Then Lukeas placed his bag besides him and started rummaging through it, then he pulled out a clean clothes and started ripping it. Then he opened Andrew clothes and exposed the wound. After that Lukeas took his water skin and started washing the wound, after that he took out a small bamboo from his bag and opened it up.. And dip his fingers inside then placed a green like paste on the wound before covering it with the clean cloth and applying pressure on it.

"You...Alex.. Get in here... And hold this down... Go as hard as you can even if your dads in pain hold it down hard you understand??" Lukeas told her. Which she obediently nod to and went besides him. And does what he said.

"Ma'am.. Both of you must stay here.. Ill be back.. I promise!" with that he turned around and grab his helmet and mask. The. He opened the door without hesitations making Leonora almost warn him of the arrow when she saw Lukeas casually catching an arrow before closing the door.

'How-..."Goodluck Azbob" instead of questioning it she just wished him luck.. And went to tend her husband together with her daughter.. Fortunately the baby was still deeply asleep... Making things a bit easier...

' I've been experimenting with my power.. And come to know that whenever I mimic someone or something.. Their moves gets easier to predict.. And combining every human I've mimic I found that us humans have certain thought patterns.. Making it easier for me to predict the enemies movement even though i haven't copied theirs.. Just like what i did with that archer.. '

As Lukeas runs in from of the carriage he saw the butler with multiple arrow in his body. And looking over. He saw Benjamin fighting 4 people.. And one of them are dead already..

' Most of the enemies are those who rode with the first carriage... So they've planted those assassin in the adventurers association huh?.' ..

Then he noticed 2 more adventurer dead on the ground.. 'Those are with me at the carriage.. So we have a total of 6 enemies.. Well..minus one so its 5? One of them is the archer. Can we even wi-'

CLANG!

An audible sound echoes as he looked down at his chest and saw an arrow falling in the ground after it failed to peirce his armor.. "Certainly not.."

He says as he looked over Benjamin.. Who was now covered in large wounds. And was bleeding profusely.. 'He won't last for long..' he looked at him in pity.. 'I wont waste your death.'

He turned around and grab something in the pouch at the back of his belt. It was made of glads and is circular.. 'I must move fast..' he thought as he toss it in the air.

And before it could reach the air Lukeas made a run for the carriage door and enters.. "BE READY! Were gonna need to abandon this carriage!" he said when suddenly.

POOOFFFFFFSSS

A thick cloud of smoke spread all over the place and since Lukeas have lwft the door open the smoke got inside as well.

On the other hand Mr. Green who now wore the scarft as a mask was standing over a branch of one of the tree. He was the relax guy that rode with Lukeas earlier.. He saw Lukeas threw something in the air when the guy suddenly ran inside the carriage.

He was waiting for him to come out when an explosion that produce thick white smoke sudden envelopes the entire luxurious carriage. "What the fuck?.. When did he got those smoke bombs?" he curse out.

Then he shifted his attention to Benjamin who was giving his colleagues a hard time. 'Should I shoot him or let them deal with him?' he took aim with his crossbow when suddenly a large figure ran out of the smoke...

"Its the horse!.. THEY'RE RUNNING AWAY!!" the guy Lukeas called mr. Green shifted his aim at the people riding the horse and tried shooting them.. But the horse's speed was still too much for him making him missed entirely. He also realized that Lukeas have freed all the horses. Leaving them nothing of use to chase them.

On the other hand Benjamin who saw the Group of horses running away with his boss and his family he smiled.. "Now i believe i stalled you enough... LETS FIGHT FOR REAL THIS TIME FUCKERS!" He roared and charged through thw crowd of soldiers.. Before swinging his axe and killing one of them in one hit. Then another.. And another. He was about to kill the last one when an arrow shot at him. He move his head to the side and killed the man in front of him anyway..

Then he pointed his axe on of the trees.

"FIGHT ME COWARD!"

Then a figure jumped down.. "sure lets do that.." the man in green scarf said. "Our mission already failed anyway. Tsk.. I should have used a poison arrow.."

He was so frustrated that he missed that shot with Andrew.. So might as well let off some steam.

Lukeas who was riding a horse with Alex.. But surprisingly. Alex was the one driving.. "HOW COME YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE A HORSE!" she asked. The gale of the wind and the rustle of the grass making the surrounding quite noisy. Requiring her to yell out. And besides.. All of them are panicking of course its only natural to scream.

"The jungle have too much roots bush, and stones all over it. Its pretty impossible to ride a horse through it if your in a hurry.. So we prefer to walk on foot!" Lukeas who was only behind her only have to say his words near her ears so she could hear it.

Amd after answering it Alex didn't asked anymore questions and focused on following the direction of the road up north.

Leonora on the other hand remained silent as she hold her baby on one hand and the horse leash on the other while Andrew wraps his uninjured arm around her. "Dont worry Dear. We're safe..."

"Hehe.. Told you they're enough to protect us" Andrew said with a hint of joy underneath his pained voice.

The following days where spend travel as fast as they can and whenever they take a rest Lukeas would stay up all night guarding the group and making sure nothing attacks them while they, and the horse rest. This continues on for a whole 2 week and 3 days. And Lukeas have not slept at all.. Making everyone very worried about him, specially Andrew who seems to be steadily recovering.

"For God's sake you look like a vampire.. Go get some sleep or you might fall when you're riding the horse.." Andrew said.

"N-no.. I'm fine... I'm dont need as much sleep as the others." he daid honestly.. As he have long notice that he could stay up much longer than normal after spending time in the jungle working day and night to survive.

"I only look like shit because i haven't bathe for a while.." He added.

"hah? We haven't bathe for a while as well but we dont look like a vampire like you!.. Also.. Please watch you mouth, Baby Aaron can hear you!"

"yeah yeah sorry, but no.. I won't sleep. Until you all are safe.. I made a promise with Ben..." Lukeas said stubbornly.

Hearing that Andrew looked up in the clear sunny sky... "Yeah.. Hes a great warrior..and a friend too.."

"Anyway.. Let's go.. We're almost at the northern Capital" Lukeas stands up when he suddenly stumble but Andrew hold him still..

"See? You gotta sleep!" Andrew said.

"i agree child.. You meed to sleep. It's not healthy." Leonora said

"Y-yeah... I cant have a servant of mine dying! It'll make me look bad!" Alexandra said while avoiding direct eye contact with him..

"...."

"yeah, no.. We're leaving.. Lets move.." Lukeas chuckled then he took his masked and put it on before he ride on the horse then weakly pats the free space of the saddle.. "Hey princess.. Can you drive for this 'servant of yours?'" Lukeas ask.

"S-sure... Whatever"
