Coming of Age Present

The world of merfolk was a paradise, at least that was how Geale described it.

Its cities had massive structures made of the toughest shells and concrete, sheltering a variety of aquatic creations. Its pathways were lit up with glowing orbs that never died out. Advanced technologies leveraging magic subsisted alongside nature, allowing their civilization to sustainably evolve.

Everyone had access to basic necessities such as residences, hunting grounds, education and healing. Each one received opportunities to pursue their aspirations regardless of sex, gender, physical attributes, or lineage.

Family units served to teach the merchildren of love, empathy, and confidence. Once they reached the age for education, they left the protection of their family and lived in colonies where they gained knowledge, wisdom and empathy for all. They would then independently search and pursue their wants, needs, and purpose wherever it might be…except for the human world.
