Hours past as the boy rested, 10 o'clock pm arrived, and the boy had fully gathered all the manna back. He was still asleep comfortably, but his body still ached from pain and exhaustion. The girl tried to keep her mind calm and eyes focused during the time she waiting for this man to make up. She also contemplated about just leaving, but quickly changed her mind watching the storm outside pouring hard and beating against the shack. The girl grew weary and scared, she walked back over to the chair and hugged herself trying to stay as warm as she could, she shivered and sat down and glanced at this boy one more time before hunching over and rubbed her eyes with her thumbs. She shortly then leaned up and hunched over the table, laid her head on her arms and closed her eyes. About 12:30 am the boy flipped to his side and groaned before he opened his eyes. He sat up fast noticing he had been stripped fully naked and covered with a blanket.
He looked over to the right and found the girl sitting in the chair hunched over part of the table sleeping. She looked cold and pail, seeing her like that he began worrying about her. He looked to the corner and inched over keeping himself covered before he grabbed his pants, he felt they were still wet, so he twisted them and rung out most of the water to they are not as soaked then learned them over the dresser drawer. He grabbed his black sweater and felt it was damp. He half smiled then tore the sweater apart and wrapped it Round his waist to cover his bottom area temporarily. He slowly stood up, lifting the blanket with him and walked over to the girl. He wrapped the blanket around the girl and gently lifted her up into his arms and sat down in the chair. Adjusting the girl to lay comfortably in his arms. This girls name is sakashi, he had known her for many years. Her legs dangled to the ground as her head rested comfortably on his chest. He looked at her as she slept and smiled softly. "everything will be ok now my dearest sakashi, I promise you." he mumbled softly to her.
Noticing she looked sicker and more pail up close he began feeling sudden higher concern for her. He watched her for a while before looking out the window watching the storm. Time passed and the boy help her close into him. He stayed silent and thought about everything that had happened. Sakashi began to awaken and open her eyes. She felt warm and snug, eventually looking upwards and noticed she's in the arms of this boy embracing her tightly. She blinked and grew slightly tense. Without saying a word she laid there. Her eyes were dull as they looked around the room trying to not panic.
The boy didn't notice she had awaken and continued looking out the window watching the sunshine start to slowly break through and began glowing brightly as the rain started to lighten and ease. The time was about 6:28 am, He started to sing soft melodies to himself that brought him comfort. Sakashi listened becoming less nervous and more relaxed. She leaned into him and slowly adjusted herself closer into him. The boy looked down at her and smiled softly. With a gentle voice, he spoke. "you're awake, are you feeling better?" He asked her.
She looked at him, blinking as her cheeks turned light faint pink. "I'm fine, thank you" she mumbled before looking away fast. "are, are you feeling better?" she asked shortly after. The boy smiled and replied "yes, I'm fine now, you crazy girl. Why would you care for me as I slept when you could catch a cold?" he chuckled lightly. "my only goal was to get you to safely and warmth." he then held her closer into him. She looked at him confused. "why not help a stranger knowing that stranger helped me? You looked cold and hurt so I wanted to help you because you helped me." she replied as she began to cough feeling her temperature rise. The boy smiled softly and felt her forehead with his right hand. "you have a fever, you need to rest more." he gently stood up lifting her along with him and turns around setting her gently on the chair.
Kneeling down in front of her and made sure the blanket covered her whole body. "give me a few minutes and ill make you something comfortable to rest on." He told her softly before standing up again. "what? How? Who are you?" she asked him frantically with a slightly confused panic. The man chuckled and showed a soft smirk. "relax hun, you see I'm a magic user." he replied to her softly while walking over to his sweat pants and lifting them from the dresser drawer. "so a wizard?" she asked him curiously. "yes, you can say that," he replied shortly after. He held his pants up with his left hand while his right hand lit up with a bright blue glow drying his pants. "close your eyes for me for a second will ya." he told her as he turned his back to her untieing the ripped shirt from his waist. Sakashi's eyes had widened realizing he was going to put his pants back on. So she quickly shut her eyes shortly after looking away. The boy dropped the shirt and slid his pants on and tied the strings. He turned around and looked at her, chuckled as he began walking over to her. He gently grabbed her hands then used his right hand and placed his thumb and bent pointer finger Under her chin and lifter her hand up. "how soft of a bed would you like?" he asked her softly. With her eyes still shut she blushed slightly. " I uh, I don't need a bed I will be fine, make a bed for yourself, " she replied with shut eyes. The boy smiled already knowing what she likes and dislikes. "sweetheart, you're the one with a fever, I don't need one." he responded before he leaned away and turned around. his right hand light up with a dark blue glow. He closed his eyes and pointed his palm towards a corner, Imagining a bed with a soft mattress, a pillow, and a thicker blanket. Moments later his magic gathered around in that corner and began creating a bed. The girl slowly opened her eyes and glanced over, causing her eyes to widen again stunned. Seconds later a bed had appeared and had been built to her perfect liking. The boy opened his eyes placing his hand down, the glow vanished then looked back at her. "wala, your bed is done." he said with a smile. The girl sat their stunned and frozen. Blinking a few times she looked over at the boy. "who are you really? What's your name? How did you find me? Do you know anything about who I am? What happened to me!?" she asked him in a sudden want and need to know, tears began to fall from her eyes and down her cheeks. Hoping this boy knows something to help her remember who she is.
The girl looked down and started to rub her eyes. "I'm so confused, I can't remember anything, I feel sick and weak, I don't know who I am or what my name is. I only just woke up to find you, your so kind to me and I don't think I know you. Yet you act as you knew me my whole life. Tell me anything you know about me, what's real? Anything... Please what do you know.?" she spoke as tears continued to fall from her eyes, she started to cough from the emotions. The boy looked at her silently at first. His eyes have become glossy, clenching his fists before walking closer to her and knelt down. His left hand gently lifted her chin upward to make her look at him before placing his hand on her right cheek gently and slides his thumb a crossed her eyes whipping the tears. "look at me for a second." he spoke to her softly. "don't hide your face, show your emotions. Your name is sakashi and my name is kalebize, I know a lot about you because I known you since we were toddlers." he stood back up and gently lifted her off the chair, sakashi wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned closer into him as she blinked staying silent. walking over to the bed kalebize laid her down gently. Covering the second blanket over her. sakashi slowly sat up looking at kalebize curiously wondering if what he just said is true. "how old were we when we met?" she asked him softly. "you were 4 and I was 5 at the time." he replied walking to the chair and lifts it up and walks back over to the bed setting the chair down next to the bed before sitting back down.
Sakashi looked down trying to remember but her mind was still blank. "i ." she paused. "I don't." "don't worry about it right now sakashi." he cut her off and looked at her. " I want you to get some sleep and some rest right now, your fever looks like it's getting worse.." he told her watching her as she looked down. "while you rest, I'm going out to find some food and some herbs to try and help you recover," he told her as his left hand moved her hair away from her face. Sakashi looked at him and grabs his arm. "but your hurt, your back, you need rest too, I." she replied with a worry. " I will be fine, don't worry about it," he told her as he started to pull away. Sakashi released her grip letting him go. "I will be back in a few hours, so lay down and get some rest, I will tell you everything you want to know when I get back." he spoke softly walking to the door. He opened the door and a bright light shined, birds chirped and puddles could be seen throughout the pathways. He looked back at sakashi and smiled softly then walked out closing the door behind him. Sakashi watched him leave silently before looking down. She laid down into the bed and turned to her left side. She began to breathe heavier as hot air flowed from her mouth, her temperature kept rising and she started to feel nervous if she was going to survive this fever. "such a kind man, if only he wouldn't leave me." she spoke softly to herself while Tears fall from her eyes from the aches and chills she felt. Her eyes narrowed before eventually drifting off to sleep. Moments after sakashi had gone to sleep, Kalebize hasn't left the front door. He stood there weeping from worry and concern. He reflected back to how he found his beloved friend. He grew angry again and punched the tree he was nearest to. Leaning his forehead against the tree in frustration he slammed his fist against the tree by his right side of his head. " I failed you, I failed you, I was too late," he mumbled in anger as his tears rolled down his face. He lifted his face to the bright blue clear sky and took a deep breath. Tears dried to his face while he began walking. Looking to the right he had noticed a bush full of fresh berries that happened to survive the storm. He walked over and began plucking the berries. Kalebize realized he had nothing to put the berries in so he sighed and looked around for anything useful. Nothing but puddles, grass, and trees could be seen as he shrugged. "looks like I'm going to cheat." he mumbled while he closed his eyes, his right palm lit up again with a light blue light creating a small basket in his hand. Once the basket fully formed and appeared the light vanished from his hand. Kalebize opened his eyes and smiled. Shortly after, he began to fill the basket with berries. The basket filled with fresh and juicy blackberries, he grabbed some apples still dangling from trees and searched for herbs as he was gathering food. Two hours had passed and he could not find any herbs. He became panicked slightly in worry he wouldn't be able to find natural medicine. He knew sakashi was forcefully injected a deathly injection. He's hesitant to tell her about this deadly illness so it doesn't scare her and make her fear more. "hmm if we eat some food, and leave in a few hours I could get her to a hospital by 8:00 tonight." he mumbled looking down the path. He looked back towards the shack and focused his mana within him. Already feeling a limit, he used only half of his remaining mana to teleport himself to the shack. Leaving him 40% of spare mana.
Kalebize only has four abilities, teleportation, creation, speed, and strength/protection (fighting tactics) each ability can take lots of his mana until he learns to savor and control his mana. Until he gets stronger in control, he has to limit the amount he uses for each ability. Restoring his mana to the full amount can take up to 4 hours. Once kalebize arrived by the door he closed his eyes and took a deep breath before walking back inside. He opened the door and walked inside to find sakashi asleep but looked worse in her condition. He set the basket on the table and ran over to her side feeling her forehead. Sakashi has increased in temperature and began to lose more color.
Sakashi has gone into a deep sleep so Kalebize became panicked and ripped part of the old blanket he found and ran out to a puddle. He dipped the piece of cloth into the puddle and ran fast back into the shack and back over to sakashi and placed the cloth over her forehead. "sakashi stay with me." he began to weep in fear grabbing her left hand and held her hand to his forehead. "what should I do?" he looked back at her and stood up lifting her up into his arms. Keeping the blanket wrapped around her he walked towards the door grabbed the basket and walked out. The wet clothe fell off her forehead as Sakashi was asleep breathing hard with her mouth wide open. She looked restless getting worse in this illness. Kalebize began to walk fast down the pathway. " I can teleport us halfway closer if I use my remaining mana.," he mumbled to himself. Without hesitation, he focused 30% of his mana teleporting himself and sakashi 8 miles head. Kalebize looked around recognizing the location, he thought to himself how he's got 9 miles left to go till the nearest small town and hospital. he walked as fast as he could go and snacked on the berries to regain as much energy as possible. It had hit 5:15 pm an hour later after he had teleported and walked. He felt tired from walking up hills carrying sakashi. He decided to stop and gently lay sakashi down on some dry grass and sat down next to her. He nibbled on some more berries and stretched his aching arms. His slashes on his back had closed and scabed that caused his back to ich. Kalebize glanced at the girl he cares for so much and became more concerned seeing her condition getting worse by the hour. He stood back up after 15 minutes lifting her up back into his arms and began to walk. With 7 miles left to go, he got lost in deep thought. Reflecting on how much he loves sakashi, how much he wants her for himself, how much he wants to protect and save her. He walked for a few more miles until suddenly he was stopped by the sight of a hungry bear approaching in front of him.
The bear snarled and growled loudly showing his razor sharp teeth. Kalebize gently lowered sakashi onto the grass on the side of the path and slowly stood back up lifting a rock in one of his hands. The bear approached closer to them and growled deeper eventually walking back and forth before standing on his two back legs while growling. Drool dripped from the bear's jaws and swung his paws. Kalebize knew he was low on strength but still intended to use that last 10%. Kalebize stood there still watching the bear. Sakashi rolled to her side and groaned causing the bear to look at her and growl immediately then began to run towards her. Kalebize instantly ran towards the bear and lifted his hand with the rock and swung towards his head. The bear stopped and shifted his head and bit down on his arm and began yanking. Kalebize grunted and wrapped his other arm around his neck and began lifting upwards. Struggling with the bear he focused his last small about of mana. He managed to use that last 10% and increased his strength and squeeze around the bear's throat tighter. The bear had lost his strength and ability to breathe shortly after. The bear began to suffocate opening his jaw, releasing the grip on his arm. Once kalebize had felt his arm was free he forced his arm through the pain and grabbed the bears head and began twisting, eventually snapping the neck. The bear had gone limp and death had arrived.
Kalebize released his arms and dropped the dear. His adrenaline rush was flowing through his body. Breathing heavily he looked at the bear. "im so sorry my friend." he apologized and looked at sakashi. His arm throbbed in pain as scarlet red blood flowed down his arm. He walked over to sakashi and sat down to regain his strength. Sakashi began tossing and turning mumbling to herself unclear things.
Kalebize watched her concerned while his eyes became wide hearing sakashi mumble his name a few times. He eventually narrowed his eyes and ripped more of the blanket and wrapped his arm to stop the bleeding. Moments after, he stood up lifting sakashi back into his arms grunting at his arm pulsing. Continuing down the path walking past the bear he took deep breathes and kept walking with a normal speed. The journey was long and tiring after the encounter with the bear. Kalebize stumbled and grew weary during the walk. While sakashi became sicker, he walked slower.
3 hours had passed and had one mile to go. "damnit, it's about 8:00 now and I still have at least a mile or two. " he mumbled to himself. AT that time IT was 8:45 pm but he kept on walking. After an hour and a half, he walked up the hill and once he reached the top he looked down the hill and seen the town. finally arriving to the small town. He searched for the hospital's location. He eventually spotted the hospital and headed towards the hospital's location. Kalebize's arms felt numb and his body felt weak, he trembled and struggled to reach the hospital while His head throbbed in pain from a headache. His body had pulsed in pain from the adrenaline rush wearing off. He soon saw two paramedics on a lunch break talking outside. He limped closer to them yelling out to them. "help. She needs help." he began getting desperate limping faster.
The two paramedics immediately responded running to them with transfer beds and began asking questions. Kalebize explained everything that had happened to sakashi and a little about him. "shes dying please save her, please save her." laying sakashi on a transfer bed before collapsing unconscious to the ground suddenly. One paramedic took sakashi into the building fast, while the other paramedic lifted kalebize onto another transfer bed rolling him into the hospital shortly after.
