How to comfort a Merman *R18

A few days later Lucrecia awoke to the sound of waves splashing against the rocks surrounding their home. Kole had returned to the cavern.

He opened his eyes and rose to greet him. His stomach rumbled loudly when he did so; lately hunger had become a problem for him.

Since everytime he left the cave he would become even hungrier than usual. For this reason he preferred not to leave the cave unless absolutely necessary.

Lucrecia had noticed that he seemed to have gained weight recently. It wasn't much but he still worried about it. His own scales were beginning to fall out too which concerned him greatly.

Just as he was looking down with a sad atmostphere Kole came over to sit next to him.

''Are you okay?" Kole asked gently.

Lucrecia sighed deeply and shook his head. "Nothing… I'm just feeling a tad blue today…"

Kole frowned slightly. "What's wrong?"

Lucrecia pouted and tears welled "No nothing really… You're always so kind to me Kole...you've been the best lover anyone could ask for..."

Kole panicked at the sight of Lucrecia crying and took him into his arms.

Lucrecia sniffled and continued ''...I feel so ugly my scales are falling off....''

Kole looked, he had noticed there were some scales left in their nest but he thought this may have been normal for mermen. ''Are you sick?'' Now Kole was worried was something wrong with Lucrecia. Perhaps he needs to learn more how to care for the merman.

Before Lucrecia could answer Kole kissed him on the cheek. ''Don't worry you are beautiful to me."

Lucrecia smiled up at him with a crying face and then spoke again as he pinched his stomach ''...I also got fat''

Now Kole was truly alarmed, it was his fault he had been feeding Lucrecia all this time and maybe this was the reason he may be sick.

He placed a hand upon his belly and felt for himself. There was indeed a bulge there. But it didn't seem right somehow. Kole pressed with a little more force and suddenly he realised why Lucrecia was gaining weight.

His hands moved lower and found egg-shaped objects resting within Lucrecia's abdomen. The size of a large marbles.

As soon as Kole realized the truth he let out a gasp.

But Lucrecia interrupted him "Ah! No I know Im fat you hate me''

"That isn't true!" Kole said defensively. "You look great."

Lucrecia rolled his eyes and tried to push away from Kole.

Kole held him close and whispered reassuringly. "You're not fat...and besides you can eat whatever you want now since your pregnancy has begun."

Lucrecia stopped struggling and looked at him with wide eyes. He couldn't believe he hadn't noticed until Kole pointed it out. After joining together for so long it was possible.

Suddenly it all made sense to Kole on Lucrecia's behaviour. He became emotional, sleepy and always hungry. And most importantly he began to show a small belly.

The two sat quietly for a while before Lucrecia broke the silence.

"So what do we need to get ready? When will it be born?"

Kole had felt the size of the eggs roughly, from his inherited memories there should not only be his own kind but also merfolk eggs fertalised. they were slightly different in shape but he determined it had already been two months and there was another month left until birth.

Thankfully both their species had the same gestation period otherwise it would be hard on Lucrecia.

Kole squeezed his mate tightly ''Ill do everything, you rest. They should be ready in the next month''

Lucrecia nodded and rested against his chest and stroked his belly. He no longer felt so sad about his scales and belly as he knew these were precursor to pregnancy. They would return to normal after the birth.

Instead he was excited by the idea of being a parent and with Kole too, he had a family and his heart felt full.

They spent the night cuddling and talking about the future. Soon enough Lucrecia drifted to sleep. Kole watched over him for a few moments before lying down beside him. As he fell asleep he wondered that he would need to make a nest for the eggs, it can be used by the children after they hatch so they wont have to share their nest.
