Paul logged out of the game and reentered the real world, after taking care of his needs he decided to check out the basics of the game, after all this wan't just fun for him anymore, his future depended on it, and the luxury of discovering the game by playing blind seemed foolish.
It was as he suspected stat vs stat, higher dex meant harder to spot unless someone's dex was higher, unfortunately skills could overcome that, luckily he had some money now and would be ok for a while, but he could no longer afford to use the trading post.
Quests worked like most games, fetch, kill, escort, ect. and also class quests, he dug deeper, warrior, paladin, mage, blah blah blah, then he came across a section from the latest patch regarding the newest classes, they were unique as in only 1 unlike normal classes they could only unlock skills by meeting prerequisites, these classes had ridiculous conditions for unlocking and once a player gained it that was it no one else could get it, of course the conditions were not listed, they also could not join or form guilds, but each would have it's own unique feature that would change the world of Another World.
Could he have unlocked one of these classes? it seemed likely and he had a way to test it he just had to try to make a guild, after looking it up it was simple, the guild would start as an unbound fellowship, no contract, or guild base, you could set it up alone as a way to block unwanted guild invites, it seemed many people used it like this, so he could easily check.
It also seemed that he would have skills but needed to unlock them, but he had no idea how.
He also looked up if you could convert gold to money out of game, he found an official link on the games main site and opened it, after a few seconds Aika appeared before him, now she was dressed in an elegant gold and white dress, it covered her and was not too form hugging, showing not much skin, although it was very pretty, after a quick conversation he converted some gold and had £500 in his account, he then headed out and got some dinner.
He though about the no guild rule for legendary classes and it made sense, if such a broken class could be bound by a guild contract it would unfairly give that guild a massive advantage, and would also encourage the guild to literally trap the player by the contract as in game contracts were considered legally binding.
There was a lot he didn't know, but for now he had what he needed, it should have been long enough by now, he returned to his room and logged back in.
