Kadagan

The Mayoral house was not as grand as some larger towns but it was by no means shabby, made of high quality brick and stonework it was a place of luxury and power in this small town, the mayor's name was Simon Bradwr and he made sure all his staff looked the part, shiny armor, polished weapons, everything was at it's best.

Outside the main gate the two guards were stood at attention, the rules were strict and the guards knew that falling short was a BAD idea, they noticed someone walking towards them from the town, the man was tall and thin, with neatly styled black hair and brown nasty eyes, he wore polished black armor with silver trim and at his side was a rapier, each step seemed to make their hearts beat much faster as he approached, one guard plucked up the courage as the man stopped before them and spoke,

"Sir Kadagan, we did not expect you today," he waited for an explanation,

Kadagan looked at the man with a soul freezing glare, "why would i care what you expect?" the guard swallowed, unsure how to respond in a way which wouldn't get him punished, as Kadagan stood there staring at him, looking more and more annoyed as the seconds passed,

"Well? can i come in? are. you. going. to. open. the. gate. for. me?" he asked getting closer to the guard with each word until they were almost nose to nose,

"y y yessir, of course you may come in, i'm sorry," the guard pushed the gate open quickly and stood aside, the sweat running down his back, Kadagan just shoved past him,

"Idiot, next time you don't open a door for me you'll lose more than a day's wage!"

the guard almost slumped to the floor, only a day's wage lost was almost kindness.

Kadagn walked up to the doors of the house looking annoyed, as he approached the guards he asked sarcastically, "May i come in?!" the guards stammered an of course sir, and opened the doors, Kadagan just stormed past them without looking at them, as the doors closed he looked around and then headed for the stairs, as he checked each bedroom quietly no one interrupted him, no one dared, they just let him carry on, as he was looking one maid told him in an embarrassed whisper that the masters 'guests' were waiting for him, he nodded and shooed her away, and she practically ran away, eventually he came to the Mayor's bedroom, which was at the top of the main hall facing the banister, upon entering the mayor, a thin gangling man with greasy blond hair and cold eyes turned,

"What is it Kadagan? you know i don't like you coming in unannounced," he said annoyed,

"sorry sir, it's just i am hearing rumors in town, how long before we can get rid of it?" he asked concerned,

"a few days, it won't be found anyway, unless i have a doppelganger," he said glancing at the full length mirror set into the wall,

"oh and sir, your guests are here, may i suggest the large bath downstairs?" Kadagan suggested, with a lewd grin on his face the Mayor left his bedroom in nothing but a night-robe, Kadagan quietly closed the door, and looking in the mirror a smile spread across his face.
