A broken magic circuits...

Now what, it's been standing there just … staring? Can't tell since it doesn't exactly have a face.

Even worse, it doesn't seem to have any magical circuits either…. That enough tells me it isn't human.

"Lord Chaos… please stay behind me… I don't think it is safe to stand close to it." Dafahiel spoke, standing in front of me with her daggers pulled out.

"Oh? I should take that as you know what that is?" I asked.

"N-No, but I just think I should confirm first before you get too close." She replied.

Turning my gaze toward the individual, I noticed it's arms started spreading, dancing likes snakes, and then came the soft voice,

"A-Aether…."

My eyes opened a bit, I was sure it just uttered my name,

"Hey, Dafahiel, did you hear that?" I asked.

"Hear what? Did you catch something Lord Chaos?".

So she didn't hear it then, did I perhaps imagine that, nah, my senses aren't so dull as to make such a ….

"Well damn, move back."

I immediately grabbed Dafahiel by the collar, pulled her back, and placed my hand in front of me to grab the arm of the monster before it could damage her.

Mind you this wasn't an actual arm, more of a piece of red clothing that kept increasing its length and moving at a ridiculous speed.

"Lord Chaos!!!" She called out.

"Oh?"

I uttered as I watched, the arm of the monster seemed to be wrapping itself around my arm, absorbing my mana at a rapid pace, it was so fast, the magic circuits around my hand began to die.

From behind me, Dafahiel charged forward, slashing the arm of the monster which caused it to release its hold on my hand before retracing into its body.

Instantly, Dafahiel picked me up and leaped up, both of us landing safely on the rooftop.

"Lord Chaos… are you okay?!" Dafahiel asked, although her eyes were still fixed on the monster standing in the alleyway.

It didn't seem to have any particular interest in chasing us, instead it just stood there, watching and then eventually making its way inside the building beside it like a ghost.

Dafahiel gave out a sigh of relief,

"It's gone." She spoke, turning towards me, she uttered again, "I'm sorry, you had to save me, I … I won't make the same mistake again".

"It's not that deep, you're my subordinate, no reason I can't…"

Just as I placed my hand on her head to pet her, it cracked and fell off,

"Eh?" I blurted out, watching my hand fall to the ground, the cells completely dead and blood dried up, no different than when you crack up an ice cube.

"L-Lord Chaos… your hand!" Dafahiel began panicking.

"Relax, something like this shouldn't be enough to make you start worrying." I tried my best to reassure her.

But even though I said that, this might again be a problem, if a creature like that is running free in the kingdom, it won't be long before people start to panic.

Just a touch from it was enough to damage the magic circuits in my hand. It is going to take me at least three days to reconstruct this back, but obviously this only applies to me.

If that creature manages to get another person, they can't recover from a dead magic circuit; worse scenario, they die.

A grin showed on my face, the excitement of finding another worthy opponent was weighing on me.

"Lord Chaos?" Dafahiel looked up at me.

"Don't worry about it… I trust you'll inform the others about this?".

"Yes of course."

"Good… now then…"

Dark mist shrouded my body, and in a matter of seconds, I had transformed into Chaos, standing on top of the building, my eyes scanning the entire city.

"I believe we have a meeting to attend".

...

[Rio's Warehouse]

Somewhere in Fiona Kingdom, is a particular area called the Nagano district, it's a place where most of the demons could be found.

The poorest of the poor reside there, bandits, thieves, assassins, even black soldiers, basically a place devoid of light and peace.

But deep inside this town, were a group of demon rebellions, called the Revengers, the leader of this group was rumored to be Geren, a high class werewolf.

But despite being a rebellion, they don't often rebel against the kingdom, because not many of them have the strength to fight against the knights of Fiona Kingdom or any kingdom for that matter.

So to survive, they took it upon themselves to carry out shady business, from helping politicians, to slave trading, anything that would get them the Zens they need to survive and carter for themselves, all while hiding in the shadows.

But a few years back, news about a new organization taking out the evil people in the world, and fighting for the freedom of demons made its way through multiple kingdoms all around the globe.

Even the news of a mysterious kingdom where demons live peacefully, although not many believed that, demons living peacefully without humans or the gods trying to eradicate them is impossible.

But only one particular man saw something the others weren't, the man who leads the Revengers, Geren Eiogo.

Inside the warehouse, multiple bandits holding weapons occupied the right side of the room, and some stood outside for security.

In the middle of the room, where two chairs facing each other, one of them was already occupied by Geren, a black werewolf, and behind him were his followers.

While opposite him, were members of the Back Haven, The Pillars, first set of people who were directly gifted their powers and name by Chaos, the remaining members had surrounded the warehouse from the outside.

"He seems to be taking his sweet time." Geren spoke, a bottle of wine in his hand as he smirked,

"My master will here soon, I ask that you remain patient." Replied Jeane, her calm demeanor never weavering, despite being outnumbered by the opposite organization.

'An elf eh…' Geren thought to himself, picking up on Jeane's pointy ears, 'Elves don't follow people unless they are certain said person is worthy of their loyalty, … now I'm even more curious to meet this Chaos person'.

'If he turns out to be another coward bastard, I'll just end him here and be done with it, maybe then these people will switch to me'.

Booom!

From the ceiling, landed a man clouded in a black ominous attire, the dust settling in the room, Geren and his men immediately pulling out their weapons.

The Black Haven on the other hand all had their heads bowed,

And then came the voice from within the dust,

"My name is Chaos, the abyss, a darkness born to purge that which I emerged from…cast away your weapons".

Geren's eyes widened in shock when the dust cleared and he saw the man standing in front of him, holding a girl in his arms, she also seemed to be dressed the same way as the Black Haven.
