Chapter 41: Unexpected side effects

Fleur became essentially his secondary wife, although he had no official ceremony with either of them. The Royal Family was organized with him and Hermione at the top as Emperor and Empress, Fleur right after them taking the public position of High Queen, Pansy and Hathor as Queens, ranking them as concubines above everyone else but below Fleur. Everyone in the Royal Family had become part Veela; at least, they gained the allure and more control over fire. He managed to confirm this in the Genetic Manipulation Device, but what worried him was that something unknown was added to the whole Magus Race.

In every symbiote, there was a dormant gene that could cause a random mutation, as far as he could tell. It needed specific conditions to activate, and he had no idea what exactly it was doing. It was impossible to remove without fundamentally changing the genetic makeup of the whole Magus Race, effectively killing the species as a whole before creating it anew. So, whatever it was, he had to accept it if he didn't want to capture every Magus and turn them into his kind of Magus again. He would lose control over them, after all.

While researching what had happened between him and Fleur, Harry also continued with the interviews. One of the more interesting ones was Daphne Greengrass. The interview was going quite well; she had started an apprenticeship at St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries to become a healer, which confused Harry even more. A Healer made her exceptionally qualified, but why was a pure-blood heiress to a very wealthy family even training to become a Healer, and why did she want to abandon this apprenticeship for a dangerous expedition to a lost city?

"Okay, Mrs. Greengrass, let's be honest here. You completely qualify for this expedition, but I won't allow you to join it. Harry stated this seriously before he got interrupted by her.

"Why, Potter? Is it because I am a Slytherin? I thought once we were out of school this ridiculous house rivalry would stop," the beautiful blonde-haired witch said in anger, her ice-cold blue eyes piercing right into him.

"Please let me finish. I am responsible for this expedition, and you clearly have an ulterior motivation that you aren't telling me. Since I am responsible for the safety of many people on this expedition, I can't allow you to join us," Harry explained with a hard edge in his voice.

Daphne was silent for a long moment before sighing, "My sister Astoria is ill. That's why I am trying to become a healer to help her. But her illness is neither natural nor normal; it originates from a blood curse on our family. Right now, we are even negotiating a marriage contract with the Malfoys because they have family magic that can extend her life. Still, at this rate, she won't even reach 40," Daphne admitted, looking very vulnerable right now. "Atlantis is famous for its knowledge; it's supposed to contain knowledge and wisdom beyond anything seen in the Wizarding World."

Harry had to agree with that assessment; this city really contained knowledge beyond anything in the Wizarding World. Though he possessed most of this information already, there was still data about experiments ongoing for ten thousand years. "I see. Okay, I will allow you to join the expedition, but what I am about to reveal may make your own search obsolete.

After making her swear the same oath as everyone else, Harry gave Daphne the general details about the galaxy, Atlantis, the Goa'uld, and finally his own Magus Symbiotes.

"So, if Astoria were to absorb such a snake, she would become healed? And live an even longer life than before?" Daphne asked as she observed the snake-like symbiote in Harry's hand that he was offering her.

"Yes, I am not sure if it can heal a magical disease originating from a curse completely, but it would extend her life considerably, and we very well may discover a solution in the future," Harry admitted.

"Would it be okay if I gave this to my sister? I am willing to do anything!" Daphne pleaded with him, looking like she was asking a lot from him. realizing that, in the mind of a pure-blood, the offer of more power and a long life was something very valuable, and she wasn't even questioning the price. Maybe because he was Harry Potter, the Savior of the Wizarding World?

"Eh, it's really no problem. She can get one of her own!" Harry offered. The more wizards and witches he recruits, the better. He wasn't really feeling bad about it or something; it's not like he completely took away their free will. They could still live normally as Magus, do what they want, and live normally in a society as soon as it was one and not a temporary settlement to mine and build some weapons. All they couldn't do was betray and disobey the royal family. "If she wants, she can even join the expedition. Atlantis is, after all, in another galaxy, and if you find a cure, you could directly give it to her."

"You would do that for me?" Daphne asked with a strange expression on her face, a pink blush marring her cheeks.

Harry wasn't sure what was going on in her head, but she was really beautiful. Daphne was a slightly different type of hot blonde than Fleur; Fleur had this ethereal, graceful supermodel type of feeling, while Daphne, also possessing the supermodel body, was more the noble, high-born lady type of beautiful. Right now, he wishes he had another queen-type symbiote. But even with four queens, they hadn't given birth to one yet.

"It really is no trouble, Daphne. I need more capable people for this expedition. But will your sister be fine? She is still in Hogwarts," Harry pointed out.

"Oh, it's fine. We don't really need NEWTs; only OWLs to keep our wands," Daphne said. Her family was rich, and they could always work in the family businesses if they needed to. "So let's do it."

Harry nodded and made the snake-like symbiote enter her body. The transformation was fully ongoing, pushing once again through the high-level Magus adaptation into Ultimate. Suddenly, there was that pink light surrounding her.

"Again? Why is this happening?" Harry asked as he watched Daphne transform further. Once the pink light disappeared, he could feel it again; Daphne had transformed into a queen symbiote.

He had no idea how this was happening; with Fleur, he had a reason—her unique Veela biology had an unforeseen effect on the symbiote. But Daphne wasn't a Veela.

"So much power..." Daphne muttered as she felt her own body for the first time. She became even more gorgeous through the Veela genes that were now part of the Royal Family. "I belong to the Royal Family now... Am I one of your wives now?"

"Sigh only if you want, Daphne. Your transformation was unexpected," Harry admitted, feeling a slight déjà vu.

"Hmm, fine with me." A smile was gracing her lips; this was the first time in the whole interview that the Ice Queen of Slytherin had smiled. "You are one of the better catches."

"And that I am in a relationship with multiple women is no problem for you?" Harry asked.

"Hello, I am a female pure-blood heiress. I would always have to share my husband to continue my family's line and my husbands," Daphne smirked before pulling him into a kiss. "But having an Emperor as a husband that can help me save my younger sister is a nice bonus!"
