As snow covered the ground of Destiny Island, the New Ottawan Fleet had arrived at their new home. It was December 25th when they began unloading everything. The Japanese had built a few select houses for everyone. The Reddick Mansion, Archie's House, Barbara's Farm, and the W.D Boyce Monuments had all be exactly copied and replicated to the last nail. Community housing had been set up as well as the New Ottawans had yet to build anything on the Islands under their control.
Archie was helping build some houses when the Heroes of Ottawa began to sing Carol of the Bells. They were encouraging not only him, but everyone working to build their nation.
He smiled as he listened to the music. Once the heroes had finished, the Overlord and Tom Buchanan walked up to him and the Ghost.
Archie and Ghost, the Ottawa Community wishes to present you with a gift from all of us. In the center of our new land, we have erected a monument dedicated to someone close to you.
The Overlord pulled down the tarps revealing a statue of Patricia May. Archie's wife and the Ghost's grandma. The plaque read: Smile, and know that I am here. Smile while you weather the worst of storms. Smile, because you are here.
Both Archie and the Ghost couldn't hold back the tears as the crowd clapped. The Overlord and the other heroes smiled as the two hugged and looked up at the perfectly captured statue of their loved one.
A few days had passed and Tom had the Preppers of Seneca running triple-time. Houses were built as well as an airstrip and leadership building.
The Counsel had met inside the building where the first meeting was taking place.
Ghost, we need to establish a type of government.
Committee. It'll be far more effective than anything Congress did. District will have Two to Three representatives. Once everything is fully built, we will ask the people if they wish to elect new leaders or keep the ones we have. Juno and Cassie have been drafting laws for our new Nation, but something tells me it'll be a long road before everything is set in stone.
Agreed, but this is my time to announce my resignation from the Counsel. said Reverend Everett.
Jackson, are you sure? asked The Busch Hunter.
Yes, RJ. I have thought about this for a long time, and thanks to my wife and two kids reminding me of how precious life and time is, I am stepping down effective immediately from the Counsel.
We hate to see you go, but we're glad you were apart of this. May your future journey be fruitful and filled with peace. said the Ghost as Reverend Everett left the building.
