Chapter 4: new identity and killing alligators

It was ten O'Clock in the morning and a young man with strikingly beautiful facial features, silver hair and red eyes in torn clothes and rags was walking through the streets but even though his clothes were really bad he was really happy based on the wide smile on his handsome face, he continued navigating his way through the swarm of pedestrians.

He stopped at a huge building built in a dome shape with a signboard on the top, on the signboard 'National identification bureau, branch four' was written in capital letter this agency handles all things about identification, from regular IDs, student IDs, IDs for talented individuals and the likes and he's here to open a new chapter of his life by starting with a new name.

I walked inside the building and was met with different people, although the place isn't crowded the people here are still almost a hundred, I went to the queue for identification for talented individuals and thirty minutes later it was my turn they asked for name and I wrote my new name, Armaros. father's name and mother's name, I just formulated a name for both of them and wrote it down but I didn't forget to write deceased beside the names for my talent, I just wrote my previous talent battle fervour then I submitted it, the man behind the desk collected it, imputed it into the computer on his table, took a picture of me, printed a new ID card and handed it to me, this whole process just lasted a little bit above thirty minutes.

After accomplishing my first task, come out of the building and make my way outside of town to look for a certain monster who's skill would make it harder for me to die and who knows, if I find a dungeon I'll go diving, normally this skill isn't dropped or gotten from anywhere else except when one evolves but with my seven sins talent I'll be able to absorb the monsters corpse and get the skill.

About an hour later, I was currently in a swampy forest filled with trees, vines and stagnant murky water here and there. I wanted to test my strength normally and in my dragon form because I don't want to die to a monster who's skill would make it almost unkillable, but the good thing is that it's almost so I'll still be able to kill them. I'm looking for the spiked armored alligator. they are two times bigger than your regular alligators, shape teeth that can bend metal in half and spiky armor like skales on the top of their body. they are both one of the easiest and hardest monsters to kill, when in water they can swim as fast as sharks, are more aware when there is movement in water and can maneuver their way through the water like it's their backyard, when on land they can run two times as fast as regular humans, can squirt water like mini cannons and when in danger they bury half of their body into the sand, leaving their spiky armor like bodies for invaders to accidentally fall onto but there is one easy way to kill them, when on land if you are able to turn them on their back before they bury them selves you can have access to their bellies, their bellies are the weakest part of their bodies but to turn them over you have to have two things one, the element of surprise, if you are able to sneak your way to their sides that's a good start. and the second, is strength, turning over a spiked armored alligator is like trying to flip a car over, that's how heavy they are so without these two things, killing that thing is like trying to fit a watermelon into a balloon, well except if you're strong enough or you do it my way, because I am going to fight that thing head on and kill it my own way but first I need to find it first. They are mostly underwater except if they are threatened then they come to land, they come out to sun bath or they just happen to see a weak prey on land then they come out to eat it.

The reason I really want to fight them is because they are almost as strong as the monster whose skill I want but they don't have the skill that makes them almost invulnerable.

I continued looking and looking for the past hour and a half but I didn't find them, what I did find were the occasional snakes and lizards. I killed three lizards and one snake but I didn't absorb them I intend to sell them to make living a little bit better.

an hour later I spotted three spiked armored alligators sun bathing, I climbed the top of the tree and hung the lizards and snake then came back down then I started thinking of a plan to separate one from the three. I decided to use one of the lizards as bait, I brought one down tied it with a vine then used a stick to push it closer to the one that is farthest from the group of three. it immediately smelt it and started walking closer to it while I continued to pull the vine with the lizard back to me it continued to follow till we got to a place a little bit far from the other two so even if they hear our battle they wouldn't care to check. one good thing about them is that they are really dumb but what they lack in brains they made for with brawns.

I pulled the lizard to where I was hiding and before the alligator could follow it I jumped out. The alligator was startled. it quickly started shooting water cannons to me but I just continued to dodge the water cannons were continued to be fired hitting the trees around us and making them fall over but I just continued to dodge and wait till it ran out of mana and it didn't disappoint.

fifteen minutes later it ran out of mana. now that it's out of mana it can't shoot the water cannons anymore so it stood on two hind legs and used it's tail to balance it self and this was what I was waiting for. it ran towards me while swiping it's claws while I just stood there, when it came close enough for the claws to hit me, I dodged it and quickly gave it a bear hug. it started clawing at my back but I just ignored the pain and using my teeth I started eating the chest area.

seeing what I was doing it tried to hit me again with it's claws but I just let it go and dodged it took a step back then I forced my bare hands into the place I bit into then grabbed it's heart and squeezed it till it popped then it fell back to the ground.

"nice, so I can fight that monster without using skills if it didn't have that annoying skill. really impressive but now let me try my talent" bending down, I placed my hand on the head of the alligator

[gluttony]

as I said that, some sort of black fog came out of my palm and started covering the entirety of the alligator then it started to disappear and thirty seconds later it disappeared completely

[host has absorbed a spiked armored alligator]

[all host stats has increased by five]

[host has gotten active skill (water cannon)]

"nice, although I'd have preferred their spiked armor"

Armaros, now armed with his new skill, felt a surge of strength as he absorbed the spiked armored alligator's essence. The added stats and the new active skill, water cannon, would surely prove useful in his future battles. But as he stood there, contemplating his next move, he couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. He had faced a formidable opponent and emerged victorious, reaffirming his determination to master his talents and carve out his own path in this world of monsters and abilities. With renewed confidence, Armaros set his sights on even greater challenges that lay ahead.
