chapter 1:How I got here

falling from grace to grass is something that every living being has to go through

like, a multi millionaire who has a very successful business with branches in different parts of the world then his business doesn't get patronized leading to his yearly income of about fifty million reduce drastically over the years to just a little above a hundred thousand, he just fell from grace to grass which is completely normal, after all it's not forever you can occupy the top.

even in the jungle, when a lion who has many lionesses and young cubs by his side, ruling his part of the forest with his family is killed by another lone lion the previous lion has fallen from grace to grass and the lone lion has become the new king of the forest

it is completely normal for any sort of power structure to change possibly the richest Man today maybe changed overnight or the change of political structures like the change of presidential power or other governmental seats periodically. it's part of the way of life or like I hear people say 'it's the cycle of life'

BUT

what if the multi millionaire, instead of loosing his millions in the next couple of years gets backstabbed by his brother or cousin making him loose everything in a couple of days instead or he is poisoned to death by his greedy father in law, is it still considered normal?

or maybe in the case of the lion who got killed instead got killed by a zebra on steroids, is it still considered normal?

of course not, whoever thinks it's normal is a psychopath or maybe a madman.

well, I went through the artificial cycle, got backstabbed and here I am, just your everyday street beggar well I'm not really your everyday street begger.

but here's a quick question

how did I get here

well, if I want to tell you how I got here I'll have to take you back two hundred and thirteen years ago. of course I wasn't born then but just so you understand

two hundred and thirteen years ago everything on planet earth was covered in darkness and some people speculated that the sun has disappeared then the sky started to swirl in a big black whirlpool not to fast and not too slow but every single person on the planet was terrified of this sudden change in atmosphere, it has never been seen or heard of before but nothing happened for the next two days but people started speculating that possibly the apocalypse is coming some people even went as far as stocking food, clothing and other essential things but no apocalypse came.

After a few months when half of the world had already adapted to the darkness, came a wave of new energy flowing in the air like the wind, this energy changed everything in the world.

first the size of the planet multiplied by five making more than forty percent of the planet covered in grasslands, fifty for water bodies and just ten percent for human civilization

the forests became dense jungles with huge trees from as small as three year old kids to five times taller than the former London clock tower

then came the changes to animals, they became bigger, stronger, faster and few are capable of using the weird energy in the air even few of the animals in water started coming out onto land. as the population of beasts increased they started getting more aggressive and started attacking human settlements.

the humans were not left out in this though, they found out that they could store the weird energy in their body which slows the aging process of the body, increases the body immune systems, increases strength, stamina, speed, and endurance but it was not enough to push the beasts back,later on people started getting talents from gods some one talent and others getting more than one talent and it was later found out that using talent require people to use the weird energy stored in their body to work, using their new powers they started pushing the beasts back, then they started calling the weird energy mana. How do people get chosen by gods you ask, well it's completely random.

Seven years later when human civilization has settled down considerably and people with talents appearing frequently and the strong ruled the weak appeared the first dungeon. when it first appeared, it shot out from the ground and looked like a door way except in place of a door was a swirling mass of dark matter, different teams were sent in few came back and the rest didn't make it. from those few that made it out it was found out that there were different floors in the dungeon and one has to pass the previous floor to attempt the next. so what's inside each floor that made exploring harder?

there were beasts of different shapes and sizes in each floor so after clearing a floor you can either decide to leave or continue onto the next floor and any beast killed drops some sort of equipment or artifact, hearing how the dungeon operated it was deduced that those who didn't make it out where killed in a dungeon floor they couldn't handle or got greedy and bit more they can handle

weeks passed and new dungeons were being discovered with different colored dungeon gates. some had stronger beasts while some had weak beasts then they were arranged from easiest to hardest

White→yellow→green→blue→purple→red→black

the humans started to adapt to the existence of dungeons and anybody is free to dive in anytime

Seven months later, the first dungeon break happened. all the beasts broke out of the dungeon and started attacking anything on sight including beasts not residing in dungeons, this cleared fifteen percent of the population because it was a dungeon break from a red gate. later on dungeon breakouts became more frequent but since the first ever dungeon break the humans have been ready for such thing to happen again. it was later found out that continuous clearing of dungeons maybe to the fifth floor would stop dungeon breaks from happening possibly once every week. why does a dungeon break happen? it happens when there is overpopulation in a dungeon because dungeon beasts also reproduce and they reproduce really fast, so clearing up to the fifth floor would allow the beast to redistribute themselves and some would go to the empty five floors below.

Then so as to differentiate dungeon beasts are still called beasts but the beasts not residing in dungeons are called monsters

A dungeon beast, when killed disintegrates and drops weapons or artifacts

while a monster don't disintegrate when killed and is safe for consumption, when killed they have something in their bodies called cores, these cores can be absorbed by humans to get stronger

two years later wielding of elements became a common thing (elements like fire, water, earth, air, lightning, space/void. space and lightning isn't common, they are really rare). so people without talents were happy when this was found out then weapons started having grades from how strong and sturdy they are to their ability to possess skills.

The first school was created for people with talents around this time too and over the weeks science and technology improved by leaps and bounds

twenty years later a new race appeared in from of beast people (beasts who evolve and have a human form with some extra beastly limbs like tails, wings, horns, whiskers on the cheeks and the likes) with intelligence so they are capable of speech. the beast people also say they have no relationship with the beasts even though they evolved from there, so possibly they want to continue their race with reproduction

seventy years later, the first dragon appeared, possibly a reptile that has gone through numerous evolutions. he started ruling over his reptilian kind. breaking a part of the beast people country

three years later, the first flaming phoenix appeared, again maybe some kind of bird that has gone through numerous evolutions. he also broke a part of the beast people country by creating a country of his own for his bird people

seven years later, the first evolved human appeared. she called herself a high human. a human that has gone through evolution to become a high human will have great increase in power, no doubt, higher thinking capabilities, ability of flight, regeneration and ability to own a soul weapon.

twenty two years later, people wanted to create their own groups started forming guilds. High humans have increased in numbers, in ten people with talents at least one of them has evolved to become a high human

ten years later, the first dungeon shard appeared. when a dungeon gets completely cleared, what happens? the dungeon stops working indefinitely and whoever cleared it would get the dungeon shard. absorbing the dungeon shard would increase a person's strength, increase their mana pool and has a fifty fifty percent chance of giving the absorber a random talent

then forty two years later I was born...
