Monster

The awakeners have begun reclaiming territory from the monsters, unsurprising given that only G-E rank monsters emerged from the dungeons. Guilds have formed, leading to the monopolization of items and monsters.

At Davy and Suzy's location, numerous hunters gather. However, Davy, wanting to avoid trouble, steers clear of them. Together, they make their way toward the tower, finding it devoid of monsters, all having been slain by other hunters. He feels frustration at the lack of opportunities to grow stronger, except by delving into dungeons, but the system warns him that he isn't prepared yet.

Around the tower, many hunters loiter. Some spot him and Suzy, approaching them with malicious intent evident in their smiles. They shove him aside, encircling Suzy.

"Hey there, beautiful. Why don't you ditch the loser and come with us? We'll protect you, unlike this one-armed freak," one of the hunters sneers.

"Um, no thank you. I will stay with Davy," She says, her voice shaky as she glances at Davy, aware of the impending confrontation.

"Davy? Is that the name of this loser? Haha, look here, young girl, you either come with us, or he gets beaten up," taunts one of the hunters, his hand resting on Davy's shoulder.

Davy fixes the hunter with a chilling gaze.

"Oh, are you angry? What are—"

Before the hunter can finish his sentence, he swiftly severs the hand placed on his shoulder. With a powerful kick, he sends the hunter crashing through the walls.

The remaining hunters, though scared, remain defiant, believing Davy, with only one arm, to be an easy target. He stares them down and activates his "intimidation" skill.

"Scram," he commands in a cold, heartless tone.

"U-um, Davy, can you please stop now? Your skill is affecting me too," Suzy pleads, her entire body trembling in fear.

"Sorry about that, this skill is still tricky to control, especially when I am angry. Let's get out of here," He apologizes, his tone remorseful.

As they walk away, the hunters who witnessed the encounter whisper among themselves about him and his frightening aura. Suzy, still shaken, gazes at him with fear in her eyes, having never experienced such intimidation before.

"Um, Davy, why don't I go look around for a bit?" She suggests, her smile forced and nervous, sweat trickling down her face.

He senses her fear and understands her desire to escape. "Very well, do as you wish," he responds, his expression conveying detachment.

He strides away, and She follows suit, torn between her fear and lingering affection. Tears stream down her cheeks as she steals one last glance at him. He doesn't look back, having no time for someone who abandoned him twice. Arriving at the tower, he finds it inaccessible.

"System, why can't anyone enter the tower?"

"That's because one needs to be at least level 30 to enter or have a combat ability of 25,000," the system explains.

"Are you serious? Why didn't you tell me before?" He exclaims, frustration evident in his voice.

"You never asked, master," the system responds matter-of-factly.

"Sigh, it can't be helped then. We'll have to go inside a dungeon, even if it's too much for me right now," He resigns himself to the situation.

As he retraces his steps, he spots Suzy being harassed. She looks at him but remains silent. He stares at her briefly, but when she doesn't speak, he walks away. She bites her lips, tears streaming down her face. In her eyes, Davy has abandoned her, just as she abandoned him.

The hunters harassing her escalate their actions, touching her inappropriately. Trembling with fear, she thinks of Davy, who had saved her until now.

"Davy, please help me! I'm sorry I tried to run away from you!" she cries out desperately.

"What the hell is this bitch yelling for? Your friend isn't coming. He left you behind, so just play with us for a little bit," one of the hunters sneers.

"NO, LET ME GO! I SAID LET ME GO!" She struggles but the hunters, stronger and at a higher level, overpower her. They tear off her clothes and knock her down, their intentions clear as they leer at her like hungry dogs.

"Get away! I SAID GET AWAY FROM ME!" She unknowingly activates her powers, burning the hunter's sensitive area.

The hunter collapses, writhing in pain, his face contorted with anger.

"KILL HER, KILL THIS BITCH!!!" he shouts, clutching his injured groin.

The other hunters, fueled by fury, begin mercilessly beating her. She can only lie there, defenseless, blood flowing from her reopened wounds, as she covers her head to endure the assault.

"That's what you deserve, you stupid bitch. Finish her off," the burned hunter sneers, urging his companions on.

Drawing their swords, the hunters encircle her, ready to deliver the final blow.

"Davy, you finally came. What took you so long?" She gasps weakly, her eyes shifting in the direction Davy went.

Suddenly, the area around them plunges into darkness. A monstrous red aura emerges, and a figure strides forward. It's Davy, his expression a storm of rage.

"Mon…Monsterrrrr!" stammers one of the hunters, fleeing in fear.

In an instant, the hunter's head appears in Davy's hand. The other hunters tremble and cower in fear as he ruthlessly massacres them. There's no mercy in his eyes. When it's all over, he picks up Suzy, her body drenched in blood, a deep annoyance etched on his face.

"Tsk, how very annoying."

He carries her to an abandoned building nearby, healing her wounds, cleaning her like before, and leaves her to rest. After a few hours, she awakens, finding Davy asleep in a corner. She walks over, gently covering him with a blanket. A brief smile flickers on her lips, but it quickly fades as she realizes the trouble she constantly causes him, and how he always takes responsibility for her foolishness.

"I need to get stronger and change my weak nature. In this messed-up world, the weak won't survive. I need to change so I won't hold back Davy anymore," she says with a determined expression, leaving the room.

He opens his eyes, sighs, and dozes off again, muttering, "Good grief."
