49) Old Enemies

A loud crash could be heard as Stark was trapped under the weight of something else he couldn't quite see as he was pinned to the floor.

"Hello Tony, it's been a while," said a distant voice.

"Oh god, not you again. I thought you would have learned your lesson from last time," replied Tony.

"Oh, I did. Now I have a new friend to play with; I believe you've already met before," the man answered.

His suit was similar to Stark's, but instead of the bright colours, his was a dark grey, with the metal plating covering most of his body and a gap on his left arm and thigh. The gap on his left thigh was covered with a black glossy material, but his arm was left with no protection, and his muscles were clearly visible. Instead of a helmet, he wore a metal mask, and his green hair was visible along with the iconic arc reactor in the middle. From each palm, there was a long chain that dragged across the floor.

"I noticed," replied Tony.

"Long time no see, Stark," said a voice from atop him, full of scorn and hate.

"Firepower? Really, you chose this guy, Scarlotti," chuckled Tony.

Firepower's suit was built like a tank, massive in size, and plated in all yellow. His right arm had a large gun and a missle launcher on his left shoulder. His back was filled with even more missles and rockets, ready to lauch at any point. His helmet is just a dome with a strip of one-way glass for him to see through.

"You're not in the situation to be cracking jokes," huffed Firepower, stamping on Stark's head.

"He's right," added Scarlotti.

"Who would have thought we'd all reunite under such circumstances? I was planning to visit you soon, I promise," mocked Tony.

"You never stop, do you?" complained Firepower.

"Get off of him, Taggert, Where's the fun if we don't let him fight back and watch as he realises how fucked he really is? I don't know about you, but I don't want it to be easy," asked Scarlotti.

Firepower grumbled as he slowly stood in front of him and kicked Tony before walking back towards Scarlotti.

"Let's begin, shall we, Mr. Stark?" asked Scarlotti as the chains from his suit began to crackle with electricity and glowed blue.

Tony got up to his feet. "Let's get this over with," he replied, starting to slowly rise up in the air.

Tony lifted his hand, sending a repulsive shot that got blocked by Firepowers, who moved in the way. From behind Firepower, Whiplash rushed out to the side, throwing his whip towards Stark. He flew upwards and dodged it.

Firepower lifted his right arm, spraying Iron Man with bullets, who flew in a nearby alley to escape the gunfire, meeting Whiplash on their side also in flight.

Tony shot him away with his repulser as Firepower slowly came into view from above the building with his shoulder firing a rocket.

Stark pointed his arm towards it, two barrels revealing themselves and shooting bullets towards it, causing it to explode between them.

Around Tony's ankle was Whiplash's whip crackling as he got flung into a nearby building through a window. A flurry of bullets followed the bouncing of Stark's suit, leaving small dents behind, before coming to a stop.

Whiplash flew into the building, grabbing Tony's neck and sending both of them flying through the wall behind Tony. Whiplash flew into the ground, grinding Tony across the ground before coming to a stop. Whiplash sat on top of him, punching Tony's face repeatedly before being pushed off with a couple of repulsive shots.

As Tony started to pick himself back up, the sound of walls breaking could be heard from the side as the hulking suit of Firepower burst through charging into stark, sending him flying through the opposing wall, protected by a cloud of dust.

Firepower started to shoot his gun through the dust cloud, his gun covering up the sound of Tony's palms charging up, before a large blast connected with Firepower, pushing him off balance and making him fall to the floor.

Tony flew through the hole in the wall and started to slowly tear Firepower's helmet off, with the sound of screws falling to the floor, before being punched away by him.

Tony got up on one knee before his neck became wrapped up by the whip. In response, he tried to get it off. Another whip surrounded one of his arms, yanking it away.

"We have you now!" exclaimed Scarlotti.

"I wouldn't be so sure," replied Stark as his arc reactor began to rotate, picking up speed.

Soon followed a large and powerful beam from Tony's chest, sending Whiplash flying away. 'I don't have enough power to do that much more,' Stark said, watching his power metre dwindling.

[ROCKET DETECTED] said Friday, as Tony looked up as a rocket was falling down towards him. Tony ran for a while before jumping into flight, and the rocket started to chase him.

As Tony whipped around a corner, a small compartment opened up on his leg and released a stream of flares, causing the rocket to explode behind him. Loud and sharp thumps could be heard before large explosions followed suit. Firepower was shooting a volley of grenades towards Tony as the surrounding building started to crumble and break.

Tony looked behind him to see Firepower slowly chasing him before looking back in front of him to see Scarlotti spinning his whip from the ground. Tony flew higher up in the air as the whip barely missed his leg as whiplash began to chase after him.

[MISSILE DETECTED]. Tony looked behind him, watching as a missile started to chase him. "Shit," he mummbled. Tony started to fly through the city to outmanoeuvre the missile, but it just wouldn't let go.

He released another stream of flares, and when Tony was about to turn the corner, his leg was wrapped by a whip. Tony could just look behind him as the missile closed in fast and Whiplash tried his best to hold him in place.

"God, dammit," said Stark as the missile exploded.
