Soulbound: Finding my way back to you in the Apocalypse (BL)

Bai Lang had always been an outcast. Distant from even his closest family and often insultingly referred to as “the nerd,”. He just never fit in. This all changed when he met the one person who seemed to appreciate him, Yao Mitzuki. One day, Mitzuki left on a mission, and before he returned. They discovered that his world had been a victim to the whims of a tyrannical God. Now playthings to this cruel god’s whims, all living things had to experience the appearance of powers and various new creatures in their quest to survive. This is a story about an apocalypse. An apocalypse called paradise. This is the first time I took the step to publish one of my novels ever, and I am excited, happy and scared… For readers whom invest time in reading my story, thank you. I really hope you like it. I hope readers share their thoughts through the comments. Tags: BL, reborn, second chance, reincarnation, fantasy, war, and tactics

Exasperated - Bai Georgi's POV

They sat in silence for a little while longer. Horrus Kai having compassion for his commander's loss, but also regretting losing a genius who could have helped them survive Paradise and contemplating on how to support Bai Georgi. While Bai Georgi was mentally beating himself up for being such an utter failure. Eventually Kai however had to ask: "What will our next step be?" Kai could see the struggle Bai Georgi went through to get his thoughts back on the rails.

Bai Georgi thought to himself for a while. Before he could come to a conclusion another team member knocked on the door. Bertrum opened the door after Bai Georgi gave him an acknowledgement by answering "enter".

When Bertrum stepped inside he was annoyed at the fact that they seemingly weren't doing anything in here. Especially since there was so much left to be done. There were several wounded during the mission this time. They also got some supplies and the generator. The generator was the main reason they decided to go out this time. So, you would expect a commander would be on top of everything. Making sure the generator wasn't damaged now they were back in Headquarters and help install it or at least supervise the installation.

However here was his mighty commander sitting in an empty room and doing absolutely nothing. His commander lost his brother, but so many other people lost people as well. He had to go out there and lead instead of sitting here doing nothing. Bertrum however admitted to himself that he probably was jealous that Claire whom he couldn't get close to seemed particularly keen on getting closer to Georgi. Bertrum just didn't know if it was because of their family ties that Claire wanted to get closer to Georgi or because of something else.

Bertrum however came here with a mission. We checked the generator boss, and it doesn't fit. We will have to move. Bai Georgi just sighed another problem they had to deal with. If Bai Lang was here, he probably would have figured it out, but now he was on his own and he didn't know anything more than basic mechanics, which Bai Lang and the military thought him, generators fell outside that 'study scope'.

"Anything else Bertrum?" Bertrum had a complicated look on his face for a moment. Bai Georgi had known Bertrum ever since the start of Paradise and he always wanted people to speak their mind in order to avoid problems. Especially since he knew he neglected a lot of things when it came to Bai Lang. Bai Lang could have been so much more self-secure if he just felt heard. Sadly, enough to he failed to provide that to his little brother. So, to prevent future troubles Bai Georgi decided to be more attentive in the future. Therefore, Bai Georgi continued: "Whatever you want to say Bertrum just out with it we have a lot of things left to do."

Bertrum seemed to have swallowed a bitter pill for a moment. Then Bertrum seemingly made up his mind and continued. "Boss when are you going to look in on Claire, she has been crying this entire time?"

Bai Georgi was stunned although he didn't show it thanks to all his years of training in the military and his habitually cold face because of it. Which was also why Kai was so utterly surprised to see any emotion on Bai Georgi's face when he walked into the room. "Seriously?" Bai Georgi thought, I have so many big problems on my plate, the biggest being on how to keep my team alive and he wants me to go comfort a crying woman?

"What does that have to do with me", Bai Georgi asked. "The only reason she was allowed into my team was because she was my brother's fiancé. Now my brother is dead. So, the only reason she continues to remain is because my parents appreciate her." "Don't think I don't know how she sometimes takes more than her rations which are assigned to her, or how she looks down on team members which don't go on missions."

Bai Georgi had long since known Claire wasn't as honest as she looked on the surface. She took more supplies then were allotted to her. Which meant other people would get less or the supplies would run out faster. He never said anything about it, because after all she was his future sister-in-law. However, he had long since annoyed that Claire used water which was suitable to drink to wash herself daily. The others made do with simply half filtered water. It wouldn't kill of all bacteria, but it was clean enough to shower with.

However Georgi was disgusted simply by the thought and she used her privileges to misuse supplies. She also often took more supplies to her parents, because they were too old to work. This irritated him to no end. There were people a lot older then Claire's parents working and doing everything they could to make the base stronger. Now he was grieving and Bertrum just had to come ask about her. He had to tolerate her before, because she would become family. Now that relationship was gone, because Bai Lang was death, he also didn't need to tolerate her anymore.

This statement utterly annoyed Bertrum. Claire was such a great woman how could Bai Georgi think so badly of her? However he knew the commander had absolute authority and therefore he swallowed down whatever he had wanted to say.

What did the commander mean with that "he barely tolerated Claire, because she was his brother's fiancé. Bai Lang never deserved a woman as great as Claire anyone with eyes in his head could see that. However somehow in the eyes of Bai Georgi Claire didn't mean anything except the label sister-in-law, this was ridiculous.

However he couldn't say that to his boss. If he said that to Bai Georgi he might go ballistic. He also wasn't completely heartless he knew his boss was grieving. The boss just lost his brother and even a man as great as him needed space to process his grieve. Also a reason for swallowing his rebuttal was because he knew how much his boss didn't put up with people looking down on his brother. No matter how much of a waste of space he was. "However was it really too much to ask to just look in on Claire and comfort her?" She lost Bai Lang too, however he didn't dare to say this out loud any longer.

"Anything else"? Bai Georgi asked. "No that's all" Bertrum responded. "Okay then you can leave we will come outside after we decide what our next step will be". Bertrum turned around, while thinking then I will go and comfort Claire. It's a great chance to get closer to her.

After Bertrum left Kai turned towards Georgi and asked something he found quite difficult to put out into the world. "Do you think there is a chance that Claire would have lied about Bai Lang's death?"

I know it was some time ago that we saw our MC Bai Lang. No worries we will see him soon enough.

First some more on Bai Georgi though. So stay with me readers.
