Chapter 10: Carry Me

Me and my people came to a forest to check out the catastrophi that's been hit the privately owned company. They built it here to work in isolation. Vast place, easily installed huge water tank for distillation and rainwater preservation. It is a water reservation and purification systematic approach. Recent a major earthquake happened here. All the connections were out of network. The headquarter of the company sent us to check them out and rescue.

No sound of anyone just birds are making noises. Where are all the survivors, is it possible that all are in safe place or all dead?

Huge bulk of collapsed concrete infront of us. For God sake it is a wide two storied building, collapsed on the front sides. Others are separated from it. They made a single building for every department.

We are also separated ourselves into groups and started to inspect the area. Me and my group stayed upfront to find out any survivor under the collapsed concrete and others are sent to look into other building. It is a huge property project surrounded with iron barriers. The gate was open, so we didn't face any problems there.

After few hours of hard work only with our hands where no machineries can be used in the middle of the forest, we found out there was a basement under the ground floor. It's totally consumed by the crack of the land. At the first two floors there were few dead bodies. Two man and a woman. Probably maintainer of the facilities. They were sleeping at the ground floor. The ceiling of the first floor collapsed while they were sleeping. The ground floor sucked in the basement and the basement was totally destroyed as I can think of. No survivor there. They were all spot dead. The earthquake was taken place after the midnight. All were sleeping then.

I was the one who found out those bodies. Can't forget their faces where nothing to identify about. The horror of truth at this point can't rectify the situation. I need to breathe some fresh air. I can't take it any longer. My head started to rushed back the heaviness of the incident.

I don't know for how long I was walking probably few minutes, I didn't check my watch, when I saw an open space out in the forest and the amber dusky sun light spreading it's wings in the sky like a free bird. I stop by the water. There is a lake before me. I need to relax for a while. Not in restful mind. I just have to close my naked eyes for a minute. As I thought I did. A whisper of a woman wake me up. Wakeee, wakeee, who is that, I jumped out from the tree that I was relaxing. I see no one. Then again I hear a voice beside my ears, saying, hi, nice to meet you, my love. I brushed up my whole body from head to toe. There is nothing. I checked my armour, my uniform, nothing I found that can whisper any voice. I never heard any voice like that. It's very caring and beautiful.

Again she says, are you looking for me? Now I just stood still to catch her. Very calmly I am waiting to catch her to not let her go. Again she says, are you afraid of me? Don't be, I am one of your kind, I am yours from now on. I just holding my breath to catch her on the spot. Then again she says, I am here, look up. I see beautiful brown shiny hair before my eyes, big hazelnut eyes glaring directly to my eyes, I loose my steel heart and forget to catch her. When I realized that she is over my head then why I can't feel her body on my back. As I thought of it then I see her beautiful pale legs over my shoulder, her hands holding my neck and she downed her head before my eyes but I can't feel her body, why is that?
