"What did you take?" he immediately asked, removing her wet clothes and throwing them on the bathroom floor. She was crying and shaking her head, telling him she didn't mean to do it. He took her hands in his, looking at her now pink fingertips and sighed in relief. Her body temperature was back to normal and so was her blood pressure.

"We'll talk about it later. Let's get you ready for school," he said as he dried her with a towel and allowed Emily to take over and help Sophie get dressed. It didn't phase him that Sophie was naked in front of him. This wasn't the time to even think of that.

"I felt hopeless. I really didn't mean for this to happen, Emily. I'm so sorry," she sobbed as Emily helped her get dressed.

Emily said nothing. She just worked in silence trying to get Sophie ready as quickly as possible. She checked the time on her wristwatch and saw that the students had started their exams thirty minutes ago.
