Burglars [1]

Lilia ran to her parents' room to tell them about the ghost in her room. But then, when they heard it, they only scoffed. That made her confused. She then just pulled them off of their beds and dragged them to her room.

"I told you, there was a ghost in my room. Three ghosts were in my room." Lilia insisted.

Rowena and Rudy wore a smile and just listened to Lilia. When they arrived at her room, silence covered them and they looked at Lilia, who was also silent.

"I was sure that there was a ghost." Lilia insisted, her lips curled downward.

Rudy stepped forward and hushed Lilia as she was about to cry from dispiriting.

"Why are you pouting? Isn't it good that there wasn't a ghost?' Rudy asked.

"I am not sad. I was sure that there was a ghost here. I was thinking of introducing them to you."

Rudy let out a sigh after those disheartened words Lilia said. He then lowered his body and whispered, "Should we look for the ghost?"

When Rowena heard it, she just snickered and pulled the two out of the room.

"Let's find those ghosts tomorrow. But for now, let's sleep."

When the three of them finally left the room, the three people under the bed got out. They were breathing heavily as they were about to be discovered.

"Our mission was to kill them while they were asleep. Let's visit the young man and kill him first. It would take them some time for them to fall asleep again." The tallest one said.

The other two nodded and stealthily went out of the room. They then looked for Raymond's room, and when they finally found it, they took out their daggers.

They silently paced to Raymond, who was peacefully sleeping and then raised their daggers. And just when they were about to kill him, Raymond suddenly woke up and dodged their attacks.

Raymond's eyes turned wide when he realized that as soon as he woke up, these three were about to kill him. He took a long breath and then moved backward, keeping a distance between him and the burglars.

"Who are you?" Raymond asked, but then when he remembered he should alarm everyone, he shouted loudly. "Burglars! Everyone wake up!"

The three burglars flinched and then stretched their necks in unison. They then glared at Raymond and muttered, "Just keep quiet."

Then, they dashed to Raymond in swift movements, but Raymond saw their movements. They were supposed to be assassins, but for some reason, their movements were slow for him.

He didn't know what the reason was, but he only used this opportunity to dodge them again. Thankfully, his room was wide enough for him to toss himself around.

He pretended to pounce on the tall one, but in reality, he would roll to their backs. When he finally reached their backs, which was near the door, he immediately took the chance to get out of his room.

He continued shouting, "Three burglars! Everyone wake up!"

The three burglars clenched their teeth and groaned.

"The mission was to kill them silently. But if we escape, their security might raise." So, they decided to chase Raymond.

When Raymond was finally out of his room, he slammed his hands on the walls to create a loud noise. His father heard it and cursed.

"The three ghosts were burglars!" He immediately went out of the room and made them hide. While in Rebecca's room, she immediately got out of her room to go to her family.

However, just as bad luck for her, the burglars saw her. She paused, feeling the chill in her knees.

"Shit." she cursed, but then, when they weren't going after her, she swiftly made some distance between them and went to Raymond, who stopped at their parents' room. Rudy was already standing beside Raymond.

"What's their intention?" Rudy asked Raymond.

Raymond then answered, "To kill us."

Rebecca's eyes widened as she heard that, and as the three were about to pounce on her, she immediately went to Raymond and Rudy's back.

"What the hell is happening?!" she swore.

Raymond clicked his tongue and prepared a stance that his body remembered. His father also did the same and prepared himself for possible attacks by the burglars.

"Who sent you?" Raymond asked, but the three were nonchalant as if mocking them with their vicious grins.

They were being complacent, but Raymond used this opportunity. When he realized that they were confident in themselves, he reduced lessened the space between them and made a sneak attack.

The three burglars let Raymond get near them as their purpose was to kill him. They were preparing their dagger skills, but before they could take them out, Raymond cast fire and shot at them one by one.

"It was the best I could do," he mumbled and looked at his father.

"Father, attack!"

Rudy stretched his neck and rushed to the three who were still covering their faces from the burns they received. Surprisingly, they were able to withstand attacks.

When Rudy's punch hit them, they were still able to stand straight, and when they uncovered their faces, they glared at Rudy.

"Die!" the tallest one shouted and punched Rudy, which made him grumble from the force that hit his abdomen.

At that point, Raymond's eyes dilated in surprise. He then went to his father's side and supported him to stand up.

The burglars then glared at Raymond and muttered. "You are a mage?"

Mage isn't that surprising to see, but they don't know anything about it. What they know is that the young man doesn't have any [Talent], but only the adults.

The mother had a [Talent] for gardening. The father had a [Talent] of small strengthening of body. The young lady has keen eyes. But what doesn't match with the information they have was the young man. He is a mage and has the attribute of fire.

They don't know if his [Talent] is just about fire or being a mage. It is complex, but it is not the right time to discern any of it.

Furthermore, they didn't have any second-awakened [Talents] that could be used to their advantage.

"You are such a waste."

The three burglars draw their daggers and then cast some dark particles around their daggers. They threw it at them and it was as if they maneuvered as the daggers moved in an indefinite direction.
