Chapter 27.

Zach's POV.

I raced out of the slums, heading towards another town that was out of the way. On the off chance that they found my trail and chased after me.

Then it would be harder to find me.

A few minutes later I had arrived at a small town called.

SMILE CITY.

Contrary to its name, the people here were not all smiles in fact they were far from it. It had many resemblances to the slums that I had just left. Only slightly better off.

I went to the nearest diner and sat at the furthest booth from the door. I took out my cell phone and sent a message to my superior.

Letting him know when and where to meet me for the case.

I ordered a black coffee with eggs and bacon while I waited for him to show up. The food wasn't bad, as far as diner food goes.

A lot of time passed, around three hours that I sat their waiting for my contact to meet me in the diner. Some of the waitresses and other guests that had been there a while were starting to give me worried and weird looks.

"Hey, how are you all doing." I said with a friendly happy smile. Trying to get them to stop staring at me.

It didn't work at all.

Finally, after what felt like eternity the door opened with the familiar jingle of the bell. Alerting the wait staff that a new customer was entering the diner.

I anxiously looked up and was relieved to see that it was someone that I knew, though not my original contact.

I stayed on guard and put my hand up for him to see where I was sitting. He quickly noticed my hand and sped walked over to my table.

I had some fries left that he quickly dug into and devoured.

"Harry why the hell are you here." I asked staring down at him. He was mid-way through the rest of my fries, staring back up at me.

"Cough. Cough. Well, you see the general couldn't make it due to some, unforeseen issues." Harry said as he wiped his mouth with a napkin.

"So, he sent you in his place them I presume."

"Yes correct. It's so good to see you again Sir."

"What's the code word Harry. I am not giving you anything unless you tell me the codeword. " I said with a hint of blood lust in my voice.

"M-Magenta!" HE said in a hurried manner, yelling a little bit in the process.

"Good, here." I said handing the documents and memory card that I had the evidence on.

I had wasted too much time here and needed to get back to my sweet Eve. Now that most of my mission was done. All that it needed was to be wrapped up.

"Oh yes thank you." Harry said as he took the paperwork.

"Good I will be leaving now. I have other things to do." I said getting up and taking some money out of my pocket to pay for my meal.

It seemed like he wanted to say something else, however I wasn't in the mood and gave him the look that made that very clear.

"Have a great rest of your day." I said walking out of the door to the diner, the last thing I heard was the jingle of the little bell hanging from the door.
